This is the stuff of classic Greek tragedy. The over-reach. The hubris. The long, slow, humiliating fall. Then...silence.

This is the stuff suicides are made of. I certainly hope he is guilty of all these accusations if something bad happens.

I'm not saying he did it or didn't do it but the media loves destroying people. He must vote Republican.

I understand he leans liberal. His mistake was daring to prove an American is as good as the Europeans at a sport they claim as theirs. He probably doped the same way the rest of the top competitors did. If the other top leaders are doping, the competition is still there. If you don't dope when the others do, you might as well stay home and ride around the neighborhood.

He's a Democrat but that doesn't mean this is right. I know, I know, big conspiracy.

Show me, then, that the others are clean. Use the same methods used against Armstrong. Hound whoever steps up to take his wins with the same exact investigative techniques you used on him.

Not likely to happen. Which is where fairness leaves the station. I don't care if he's a jerk or he's a Democrat or anything of that matter, I care about the methods used by the USADA and how they deliberately set out to destroy someone and did it.

No big fan of Lance here -- anecdotal experiences of Austinites generally concur that he's a bit of a narcissistic jerk, in-person, with a hair-trigger temper and a propensity for rapid rage at any perceived offense.

Still, the absence of due process in the way sports agencies have dismantled his record is disconcerting. There seemed to be more hard evidence in the Roger Clemens case, for cryin' out loud.

As hard as it is for all of Lance's supporters to accept, it's just too much of a reach to believe EVERY other former longtime team member is a liar and Lance was the only saint. The fellas who came clean did not gain a thing. The two I saw interviewed were sincerely remorseful and had lost everything. Lance lied to the end. That is the tragedy.
