A South Park Flashback
Power Line, by Scott Johnson

Original Article

Posted By:MDMuskrat, 10/21/2012 6:40:17 PM

A reader points out that this South Park clip (warning: it may be prefaced by an Obama ad) bears an uncanny resemblance to the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attack: “It’s as if this was written as a guideline for the Obama administration.” http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/155213/sand-idea And over at InstaPundit, Glenn Reynolds reminds us: Anti-Muslim filmmaker detained for almost a month…next court date three days after election.” I’m afraid reality has gone somewhere south of South Park.

Comments:
The South Park cartoon is the whole reason for this post. It's only a cartoon, but...it captures human nature perfectly. Is that a kippah (yarmulke) I saw? !Que lastima!

Ted Cruz´s dynamic new

Sen. Ted Cruz has released a dynamic new video featuring highlights of the senator´s biggest moments. Cruz encourages Republicans to stand for the rights enshrined in the Constitution, and to stand on principle. "We can either choose to keep our head down, and not rock the boat, to not stand for anything, or we can stand for principle," the Texas Republican says in the video. "Yes, we can," he concludes, echoing President Obama´s 2008

"If we are lending money that ostensibly we don´t have to kids who have no hope of making it back in order to train them for jobs that clearly don´t exist, I might suggest that we´ve gone around the bend a little bit," says TV personality Mike Rowe. Rowe is the longtime host of Discovery Channel´s Dirty Jobs, where he takes on gigs straight out of Bob Dylan songs: working on fishing boats, sewer systems, oil derricks, slaughterhouses, and more. "There is a real disconnect in the way that we educate vis-a-vis the opportunities that are available,"

As longtime readers may know, Bob Ehrlich, Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., is one of my favorite politicians in America. A Maryland Republican, he served in Congress and also as governor of his state. (snip) He was elected to Congress in the big Republican year of 1994 — “the Glorious 104th,” I used to call that Congress. He had no business being elected governor of Maryland in 2002, but he was. Maryland was a very, very Democratic state. There hadn’t been a Republican governor since the 1960s — since Agnew. Moreover, Ehrlich was running against a Kennedy: the lieutenant governor, Kathleen

The Ted Cruz Effect: Political Gold?

Ted Cruz is not on the March 4 primary ballot. But his likeness is all over TV and in campaign materials, as a slew of Republican candidates on the primary ballot are using his words and — in rare occasions — his endorsement to reach out to voters. This year, having Cruz weigh in any way possible “is political gold,” said Mark P. Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston. His thumbs up for a candidate serves “as a signal to Cruz’s plethora of supporters within the GOP primary electorate who the ‘true’ movement conservative in the in the race is,” he said. And that has made a number of candidates try to link themselves

The last time I interviewed Ted Cruz, the freshman senator from Texas, was in October, about a week after the end of the federal government shutdown. (snip) Just last week, Cruz picked another fight with his own caucus. Although Democrats control the Senate, he announced, they would have to convince at least five Republicans to join them in supporting a bill to raise the debt ceiling or else he would delay the bill by filibustering. In doing so, he raised the ire of colleagues like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who was forced to vote to forestall the filibuster—and might

Sarasota, Florida—The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) just held its winter meeting here, and the wealthy beachfront communities that dot the coast are typically considered one of the beating hearts of the Establishment GOP´s donor community. Tonight, though, it´s Cruz country. An event originally scheduled as a small rally for potential 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) mushroomed into a major political event after nearly 2,000 people RSVP´d online. “We are shocked at the level of interest that we’ve received for doing this rally,” Sarasota GOP chairman Joe Gruters told Breitbart News.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) thinks that the House GOP leadership’s renewed push this week to grant amnesty to illegal aliens would destroy the Republican Party’s chances at retaking the Senate in 2014. Cruz questioned how establishment Republicans unilaterally caving to Democrats on everything from the farm bill to the budget to the debt ceiling and more could think amnesty is a good idea at this time. Why? Arab members of UNESCO wrote a letter claiming that the exhibit would impair the “peace process.” [T]he President of the Arab group within UNESCO expressed “deep worry and great disapproval” over the program showing the age old connection between Israel and the Jewish people.

A "vast majority" of Mitt Romney donors, establishment pooh-bahs, and an anti-conservative consultant who is the epitome of permanent political class want former Florida Gov. If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

President Bill Clinton´s guilty conscience over his affair with Monica Lewinsky – and a desire to repair his shattered reputation by using the State of the Union address – set his speechwriters an unenviable task, newly released archive papers reveal. The former president appeared to be trying to butter up his wife, Hillary Clinton, out of guilt – or perhaps to fool her – before the scandal broke. And he was determined to try to convince the American public afterwards that he was still of a high moral character. A National Labor Relations Board official has given the green light to Northwestern University football players to form a union. The March 26 decision by the NLRB´s Chicago regional director, Peter Sung Ohr, held that scholarship football players are "employees" for purposes of federal labor law. Ohr rejected the longstanding view of Northwestern and the National Collegiate Athletic Association that players are "student-athletes" rather than employees.
