| While we were all enjoying the ride while it lasted, I don't know of anyone who expected Romney to still hold a six-point, 51-45%, lead in the Gallup poll when today's numbers rolled in. But he did. This is the fifth day in a row where Romney's been at 50 or above and the fourth day in a row he's been ahead of Obama by six points or more. Lefties are comforting themselves with the fact that for right now this is an outlier poll -- which is true -- but a steady outlier with the name Gallup on it is my mind of outlier. Romney supporters still need to prepare themselves, though, for a tightening before election day.

The Rasmussen polls bother me - with their essentially tied results. But the other polls showing Obama slightly ahead do not give me concern. Looking at the internals. they are clearly biased by 6 to 9 percent for the Dems. It is irritating however, that these deliberately misleading results give the RCP poll average a false result and thus give aid and comfort to the enemy.

What do you get when two different polls that use different polling bases and statistical models begin to converge on the same result slightly before the event takes place? Trouble for 0bama.

Why would anyone be surprised? 0bama is awful in the debates; in the second debate he was snarky, and his comments to Romney were rude and made 0bama appear both ignorant and arrogant.

I looked at Gallup's polls for the last few prez elections and in no case did they overestimate the Republican candidate.
They have been almost dead-on for the Democrat final vote %, but 1-3 points too low for the GOP.

There is nothing Bam could do to turn it around at this point. He is not losing because of those debates. Those debates just showed people who Mitt Romney is. That is what needed to happen. Obama is the worst president ever and the media chose to totally ignore those 2010 elections as a fluke, and they were not a fluke.

In the week since modest gun control died in the Senate, those of us who don’t think guns make the country safer have been inclined to blame a few cowardly senators whose votes could have shifted the outcome. Normally, the people who cover the media industry try studiously to avoid mentioning the very obvious fact that America´s elite journalists are overwhelmingly liberal and that one can discern this by reviewing their output. This is a logical response considering that said reporters probably do not wish to antagonize potential sources. It´s hard to report on the media if no one in the media will speak to you. In the case of the recent journalist meltdown over gun control, the bias was so overwhelming, even Politico's cautious media reporter Dylan Byers had to admit the obvious:

THE graying man flashing fury in the Rose Garden on behalf of the Newtown families, the grieving man wiping away tears after speaking at the Boston memorial service, is not the same man who glided into office four years ago.
