| US drones were in the skies over Benghazi during last month’s fatal attack on US ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, a new report claims.Defense Department officials weighed sending troops to rescue Stevens and more than 30 other Americans whose compound was surrounded by an angry mob on Sept. 11, says the report by CBS News. But no US counterattack or rescue effort was carried out.The drone and other reconnaissance aircraft observed the final hours of the protracted, seven-hour battle at the US Consulate.

I was unaware aircraft and drones were one and the same. Unfortunately you can't fit too many rescuers inside a drone. But the headline says help was trying to get there.

All this shoddy info coming out two days before the foreign policy debate. It's smoke and mirrors.
The time to help was before the attack, when the ambassador was asking for more security.

So now there were recon aircraft. I could swear that we were told there were no air assets, so we only had to rely on the cable traffic & live video feed from Benghazi at first. Any other surprises zippy?

The only people Obama has fired since being in office are whistleblowers reporting his corruption.4 Americans get killed through pure dereliction of duty and crickets on someone getting fired.Hillary Clinton is still the most popular woman in America,,Go figure.

This is most interesting..
The WH wants us to believe that they did what they could... or had a reason not to do what they did..
Yet.. those pesky nuggets of truth and timeline keep interferring with their story.
So.. piecing together, or cobbling the story- either Hillary knew about the attack sooner than she let on, Obama knew sooner, but ignored and went to Las Vegas, or all the information was put in an inbox for the Monday morning Security Meeting...
It really is a SNAFU of foreign policy.

Hillary Clinton sought clearances from Libya to fly in their airspace -------------------------
!!!!! They held meetings to cover their rearends while these men were fighting for their lives!!
Mitt Romney needs to bring this up now and at the next debate calling obama a liar stating he knew the attacks were going on yet you did nothing to help those men. obama was helping the MUSLIM terrorists.
Then obama went to Las Vegas to party!

Finally, we're getting to the heart of the matter - which is why there was no attempted rescue / counterstrike.
Question: Were rescue / counterstrike discussed with WH? Answer: Of course they were.
Question: Who turned thumbs down on these options? Answer: Who do you think?
Question: Why did WDYT disallow rescue / counterstrike? Answer: Because WDYT had reason for wanting the attack to succeed.
Question: What was the reason? Answer: Attempted rescue would have likely revealed information embarrassing to WDYT.

Anyhoo, like the article said, Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily, is only 480 miles from Benghazi and we could have had F15s/F16s/F18s orbiting over the embassy in 20 minutes, 35 top. The inept clowns in charge just let it burned while diddling around waiting for a group think consensus and permission from NATO's puppet govt.

FTA: "...Americans whose compound was surrounded by an angry mob on Sept. 11,..." The NYP, still blatting that false meme that it was an angry mob. Not the same thing as a battalion sized Al-Q assault that succeeded because the Americans weren't resupplied or provided CAS even though they held out for over 6 hours. A murder trial would be too good for those responsible for abandoning those men.

So State had eyes on the ground and Defense had eyes in the sky and they did nothing but watch people get killed.
Did Hillary ask Libya if we could enter their air space when Gaddafi was alive? Does the Libyan government in Tripoli today control anything in Benghazi? What's the worst that could have happened to us if we went in on a rescue mission? I know, four more years of 0bama.
What the 0bama administration needs to be pounded on is their response on 9/11 compared to GWB's response to his 9/11.

@6 Glenn Beck reported on Thursday or Friday that real time video was being sent to the Situation Room in the White House from an overhead drone while the fight was going on. I had heard it was being beamed to the State Dept. or some other place. I had not heard the fight lasted 7 hours. Thought the four were killed pretty early on. Will we ever get a straight story? Feel sorry for the families. Anyone know wher the bodies were sent for burial? Smith's mother didn't know.

I saw last week where they ransacked some school etc. and we were pulling alot of the dependents out from various places in our troubled places...so there are some other hotspots over there....

I haven’t read many grand-jury reports, but I’ve read or perused a few. But not enough to feel like I can say I know what a typical grand-jury report reads like. Having now read the Gosnell grand-jury report, I must say I’m extremely impressed with how well-written it is. Yes, the underlying facts are horrifying and disgusting. But it reads like some of the best journalism. Is that typical? Anyway, you can see what I mean. Here’s the opening overview:

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Two New York Times columnists embarrassed themselves over the weekend, betraying anti-gun ignorance in the paper´s Sunday Review.Frank Bruni went hunting for the first time (with the chef of a ritzy Manhattan restaurant), and remarked "what an unfair fight" hunting is, as if he was the first person to think that up. After lamenting "how thoroughly a weapon can be romanticized and fetishized," he pivoted to easy access to guns in "this country of ours." I could forget, when not aiming at a bird, to keep the gun pointed toward the sky or the ground.

The Wall Street Journal has a big frontpage story today on the disability epidemic. It’s a good addendum to my column from last week. The unexpectedly large number of American workers who piled into the Social Security Administration’s disability program during the recession and its aftermath threatens to cost the economy tens of billions a year in lost wages and diminished tax revenues. Signs of the problem surfaced Friday, in a dismal jobs report that showed U.S. labor force participation rates falling last month to the lowest levels since 1979,

By any observable metric, zombies are totally hot right now. Look at movies like "Warm Bodies" and the coming "World War Z," the ratings for AMC´s hit series "The Walking Dead" (12.9 million viewers for its recent season finale) and $2.5 billion in annual sales for zombie videogames. Over the past decade, between a third and a half of all zombie movies ever made have been released. A glance at Google GOOG -1.51%Trends reveals that in the past few years, interest in flesh-eating ghouls has far outstripped popular enthusiasm for vampires, wizards and hobbits.

J. David Kuo, an evangelical Christian conservative and former top official of President George W. Bush’s faith-based initiative who drew wide attention when he publicly accused the administration of failing to live up to the values it espoused, died April 5 in Charlotte. He was 44.He was diagnosed a decade ago with brain cancer, his wife, Kimberly, said. The arc of Mr. Kuo’s life and career had taken him from liberal to conservative, from hard-edged Republican activism in the 1990s to disillusionment with the idea that politics could serve as an extension of his faith. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

In the opening sequence Rod Serling informs us: "A monster had arrived in the village. Just by using his mind, he took away the automobiles, the electricity, the machines -- because they displeased him -- and he moved an entire community back into the dark ages -- just by using his mind. . . . and the people there have to smile. They have to think happy thoughts and say happy things because once displeased, the monster can wish them into a cornfield
