Romney wows thousands
at Bandshell rally

News-Journal [Daytona Beach FL], by Derek Catron

Original Article

DAYTONA BEACH — If Mitt Romney wanted an environment to loosen an uptight corporate image, he found it Friday night at the Bandshell. Steps away from the World's Most Famous Beach, at a venue surrounded by tens of thousands of leather-clad bikers, Romney made his pitch to replace Barack Obama as the next president of the United States. He didn't need long -- about 12 minutes -- with a crowd of 10,000 or so supporters who, judging from their reaction, had long ago made up their minds about how to vote Nov. 6.

My favorite phrase in this article: "Romney's coattails" A clean sweep would be fantastic.

As a Florida resident, and having paid close attention. I think Florida is OVER. Florida will vote for Romney. The media will spin Monday's debate for Obama. But the debate is in Boca Raton (Palm Beach County) Florida which tends to be more Democratic territory. Overall the state will go GOP.

Just hoping my state of NV will also go Romney. On this morning's walk, I saw 10 Romney signs and one "Forward" bumper sticker, which is Obama. If we can keep Dingy Harry from cheating, Romney takes our electoral votes.

I still worry about the plans for fraud the Democrats have. They have a long tradition of cheating to win and I fear we won't have results until December (like with Bush v Gore) after an outrageous effort to find ballots in trunks of cars and such.

You can see it already happening with absentee ballot shenanigans and suppression of the military vote.

I will enthusiastically vote against Barack Obama, but I have to admit, I'm worried.

My sister is a liberal who lives in Daytona. She went to the rally. Stood in line at 5PM in a rain storm and was right next to the stage for the rally. She is an amateur photograher... got some great pictures. I think the she may be backing R/R now. The "War on Women" issues just don't seem as important as they once were to her. I think she can see how Obama's campaign is exaggerating the thteat to women. Obama overreached.

Wonderful! Thanks for posting, OP! More than 10,000 Romney/Ryan supporters, including so many groups! It is so uplifting to see what is going on in States that obama and the "msm" said obama was going to win! I refuse to let concerns about "what the demonrats have up their sleeves" take the joy out of the wonderful pictures of the rally in Daytona Beach and elsewhere.. As far as I'm concerned, a picture DOES say a thousand words! Especially the pictures in this article..

I will absolutely admit to having misgivings about Mitt during the primary. He came across as too moderate for my tastes. Now I'm starting to think he may just be the right man for the right time. We may have found our next 'Reagan'. Time will tell of course.

Landslide coming.

During a “Google Hangout,” MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell grilled Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday about a week of revelations regarding how the United States responded to the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi. Mitchell asked about the week’s events, beginning with the testimony by three career diplomats stationed in Libya and concluding with Friday’s publication of the State Department talking points amended to remove references to Islamic terrorism. “I really haven’t learned anything new,” Kerry said. “Can you reassure the American people today that was not a politically motivated cover-up [regarding Benghazi]?” Mitchell asked.

Conservative groups have rejected an Internal Revenue Service apology for unjustifiably scrutinizing tax-exempt conservative groups during the 2012 election cycle. The IRS apology has seemingly validated conservatives´ fears of politically motivated regulation. Lois Lerner, the director the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt organizations, said that organizations had been given additional scrutiny if their applications included the words "Tea Party" or "patriot." The practice originated with "low-level" employees in Cincinnati, according to an Associated Press report. In a press conference on Friday, Lerner called the actions of these employees "absolutely inappropriate."

As a presidential speech writer for the first Bush White House, I am always very interested in what presidents say in their formal speeches. They know, of course, that their remarks will be widely covered by the press, studied by analysts, and influential in contemporary political debates. For that reason, presidents rarely speak off-the-cuff, and their every word is carefully chosen for exactly the message the White House wants to convey to the public. Their graduation speeches, like all presidential addresses, go through many drafts and are reviewed by high-level administration officials

The letter was sent to students via e-mail, and published in The Daily Northwestern last week. Leaders of Alianza, a Latino student group, and the Associated Student Government called on students to remember that Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. It is not a day to throw a sombrero-themed party, they said.

She weathered Whitewater. She made it past Monica ?Lewinsky. Now Hillary Clinton is hoping to beat the rap on Benghazi and make it to the White House. The Clinton political machine is in full campaign mode already, preparing for 2016 and hoping voters forget by then that she had a key role in the Obama administration’s handling of the terror attack. Fans of Glenn Beck are complaining about what I wrote yesterday about his speech at the National Rifle Association convention, where he used a giant image of Michael Bloomberg photoshopped into what appeared to be an image of Hitler with his arm raised in a Nazi salute and wearing an armband. The Beck crowd now tells me that it wasn’t Hitler’s picture into which the New York mayor was transposed but that of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin. They say that means I owe Beck an apology along with the Anti-Defamation League and others who were also outraged by it.

This is called "à la carte programming," and it´s long been a dream of consumers who only want a handful of channels. McCain tried to introduce similar legislation in 2006 and it went nowhere.
