| Obama For America took out a $15 million loan from Bank of America last month, according to the campaign’s October monthly FEC report. The loan was incurred on September 4 and is due November 14, eight days after the election. OFA received an interest rate of 2.5% plus the current Libor rate. Warren Buffett, Obama donor and namesake of the infamous “Buffett Rule,” invested $5 billion in Bank of America last year in an effort to help the ailing financial institution. Last month, two weeks after OFA took out the loan, Bank of America announced

Something shady is going on.
FTA - Obama has a complicated relationship with Bank of America. The bank contributed $20 million toward the cost of the Democrat National Convention earlier this year.
Author asks why the campaign needs a loan if they have a billion dollar warchest.
Good question.

We closed our accounts there last June and told them it was because they ally too closely to Obama. They seemed shocked. The manager says she doesn't follow politics. We told her she should. They still send me emails that my account balances are too low. Yes they are zero and the accounts are closed.

Money laundering 101; Warren Buffet spends 5,000,000,000.00 on B. 0 A. - then lends 0 and the DNC 15,000,000.00 for his campaign.
0 doesn't have to pay back the loan! Warren now owns B. 0 A. and 0.
Cost to Warren Buffet to own 0 and B. 0 A.; 0.003 percent of his investment in B. 0 A.
Pretty good deal and even if 0 loses, he still owns the DNC.

In the article posted immediately above this one, it is reported that the DNC dropped its banking relationship with Bank of America and moved over to union-owned Amalgamated Bank.
After BofA had donated $20 million to the DNC for the convention in Charlotte.
But Obie's own campaign organization, OFA, is still hitting BofA for short-term funds.
Why? I thought he was rolling in dough... at least a billion?
These two articles should probably be read together.

Makes you wonder how the the DNC and OFA are going to pay it back if the donors don't open their checkbooks.

This sounds appalling. I have to think that eventually the debt will be written off. Is it some sort of covert transfer or payoff?
If the loan were to the DNC then maybe they would be in reality transferring those funds to the unpaid Charlotte vendors. Such a tactic could yield BAC a tax write off when the debt goes unpaid.

That political reality is not lost on Kelly, who said her first task is to restore district offices and concentrate on constituent services as she replaces disgraced former Rep. Actually, she is backing off. Here’s the thing about her now-famous MSNBC promo: Either she’s saying something radical or she’s saying something so banal that it’s barely even worth saying. The radical interpretation is that she thinks parents should have less say over how their children are raised and that “communities” should have a larger role. The very, very banal interpretation is that she thinks communities should do more to improve children’s lives and that thinking of them as “our children” might help forge that mentality. The money line in the promo that pointed to the radical interpretation

Richard Pollack at the Washington Examiner reports on a painless way to handle sequester costs -- cut out the unnecessary duplicative federal programs: Duplicative drug abuse and treatment services are strewn over 76 federal programs. Housing services are spread across 20 different agencies. Renewable energy projects go through 23 federal agencies and 130 sub-agencies. Even federal catfish inspections are done by three different agencies. These are only a few of 162 examples identified by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, a congressional watchdog agency, of fragmented, duplicative federal programs and services.

WASHINGTON- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he wants U.S. military law changed so senior commanders can´t overturn courts-martial verdicts in major crimes such as rape. Hagel said the Pentagon´s top lawyers would prepare legislation for Congress that would strip commanders´ power to toss out convictions, "except for certain minor offenses that would not ordinarily warrant trial by court-martial." Convicted defendants still would be able to appeal their cases. But in a move berated by advocacy groups for military sexual-assault victims, Hagel also said he would recommend commanders retain the power to alter courts-martial sentences,

If presidential politics ever involved time travel, President Obama might be in a little trouble. If an election between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama were held today, 58% would vote for Reagan over Obama, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Though when the field is narrowed to people ages 18-34 -- those either too young to have known Reagan as president or too young to remember much -- the gap shrinks to 51% in favor of Reagan.

We´ve got full background here, but the toplines are this: Corn got hold of a conversation apparently recorded during a presentation by consultants to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell´s reelection campaign. The consultants were opposition researchers, hired by the campaign to ferret out damaging information about actress Ashley Judd, who at one point considered running against McConnell.

Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
