President Obama’s jokes can’t hide the truth

| MANCHESTER, N.H. — President Obama can make all the jokes he want about Mitt Romney’s “binders,” but Obama’s the one in the bind. He’s tossed everything and the kitchen sink at Romney. He’s even thrown in Big Bird. Now he’s calling Mitt “sketchy” — a term women use to describe men who give them the willies. But scare tactics and one-liners won’t work anymore. Romney’s impressive performance in the first debate, and mostly solid showing in the second, has rendered Obama’s attacks mostly ineffectual. Even Obama’s perceived gift in this week’s debate — moderator Candy Crowley “fact-checking”

Yesterday I was making a fall flower arrangement and the radio was on in the background the sound turned way down. At one point I could hear this male(?) voice yelling in a hoarse voice one word over and over again. I leaned over and turned it up and I had no idea who it was and what word they were yelling. It wasn't until the news person came back on and continued to talk about the current news story. The person bleating and ranting in the background was Obama and he was yelling Romnesia! Romnesia! Romnesia! Good Lord he sounded demented! And the crowd in the background was neither picking up his yell nor cheering very loudly. I heard that same news *byte* a couple more times later on and I honestly think obama is losing it. No Drama Obama has apparently left the building.

I read a short piece earlier this morning about how flat an Obama statement about "Al-Qaeda is on the run" fell with a rally crowd in NH. What he thought would be an applause line was met with silence.

FTA: ''We don’t have to order up some binders to find qualified, talented, driven young women who can learn and excel in these fields right now,'' Obama said.
It’s a good line, ....
It is NOT a good line - it's s stupid line. This isn't the 60s or the era of desperate housewives (despite what Eva Longoria thinks) - we litigated all this decades ago. We've come a long way, baby!
All the Democrat attack lines have been moronic. They really do think everybody in America is as dumb as the people they know personally - and their core constituency.
The only thing they've come up with since the git-go that I thought was even slightly clever was/is Romnesia.... that's kinda cute. Stupid of course, but cute. Try to picture their campaign-Axelrod brain trust sitting around in a room coming up with this stuff......

This man is becoming pathetic...he has no facts or substance to use in his campaign and so he just makes stupid jokes and throws ad hominem attacks at his opponent. It would be really sad and you'd almost feel sorry for them if those people weren't so evil and manipulative.

So why is "The Hope and Change Express," The Drive-By Media and The Democrat Party rapidly going the way of the American Buffalo? Our 16th POTUS offers us a clue:
"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the facts."

#8, I agree. It is not a good line. Mitt was the incoming governor looking for experienced, qualified candidates as direct reports. He was not looking for 'young' women who could 'learn'. Obama's statement here is the one which is condescending to women. He would never say 'young men who could learn'; he knows there are plenty of middle-aged men around who have already learned! Mitt was looking for women with experience. Asking for recommendations was a perfectly valid way of learning of more people with the experience to do the job.
Obama was 'young' and 'could learn' when he was put in the White House...and look how that turned out.

I have been enduring a bad case of Baraktitis and Obamarhia for almost 4 years because the only ones getting his freshly printed stimulus dollars are his union buddies and political contributors and they don't produce jobs but are really good at political kickbacks. Scales are falling off independents eyes as jaws start dropping towards the floor. The second American Revolution begins at the ballot box on November 6th.

I sincerely don't get it. How else is a busy CEO type who needs info on 50 to 100 candidates for a position to be handed this info except in a binder. Now if the 'binders-joke' refers to an S and M practice, I would think the Left already has that segment of the population sewn up. I'm serious, what's the joke?

Doesn't it seem like it is always 1968 with these people- that women are discouraged to go to college and still have to struggle to find jobs as executives instead of clerical workers? That people of color are routinely discriminated against? That smog still wreaths our cities? That our rivers still catch on fire? etc. etc.
And of course they never want to look at the flip side of the coin, at all the unintended consequences of just how well all their favorite causes of succeeded -the war on boys in school and men in the culture. The pathologies of an entrenched culture of dependency in our cities. Job strangling regulations and billions thrown away on unrealistic alternative energy schemes.

The two presidential candidates traded barbs at the Al Smith dinner. I thought Romney just nailed his routine with natural comedic timing and some great zingers.
Obama fell flat as he tried to make fun of his first debate performance.
Is it just me or does Obama remind anyone else of that famous exchange in "Good Morning Vietnam" when Bruno Kirby (aka Lt. Steve) took over the comedy at the radio station. "Sir I'm begging you. Don't try to do comedy. You are not funny."
"Oh Lt. Steve. Lt. Steve. Was that not the best polka music you have ever heard?"
Mr. President, I'm begging you. You are not funny and don't try to do comedy.

Most poignant observation here is # 18. American production of goods has tanked - witness most of our durable goods are now manufactured elsewhere , hence the big cities have no jobs . Yet the socialists are attacking what companies that still remain . Our great country no longer stands on bedrock but a thin shelf over a void . Not once have we heard ( except Trump ) how we can return solid jobs to these big cities that now depend on small business' tax returns to feed them . Witness the EPA. May Romney and a fresh congress kill it .

America’s Pipsqueak President and Adolescent-in-Chief was thrust into power four years ago by a corrupt political party and an equally corrupt and complicit mainstream media. It’s now four years later and the overwhelming evidence of their corruption is strewn all around us. We’re almost buried in it up to and including our unmentionable you-know-whats. Now is the time to toss him back from whence he came and learn from this disastrous experience.
But, what lies immediately ahead is the critical issue of getting through the upcoming election unscathed. People such as John Fund know full well how widespread vote-tampering has been in the past and continues to be. Let us never lose sight of the Democrat party and its lust for power at ALL cost. They will say and do ANYTHING to win.

I think the tide truly started to turn when Clint Eastwood talked to the empty chair. He was the little boy saying "the emperor has no clothes". And then he called Obama a hoax. And for every person who attempted to ridicule Clint, there were a thousand who felt emboldened to agree. You could feel it.
And it has allowed the truth about the decency of Romney to shine through.
Thank you, Clint Eastwood.

Four years ago, Obama took New Hampshire by 9 points and now he’s deadlocked with a guy who could only manage to win 39 percent of the vote in the GOP primary.~~

Because his audiences have been carefully selected and screened for ideological purity and bluntheadedness, what Obama considers humorous has always had a nasty edge to it. Since he is addicted to erecting strawmen and torching them on the podium, there is little to no truth in his "entertainment" of campaign audiences. Real humor requires at least some semblance of what is. These people--both Obama and his braying cheerleaders--are so twisted in their understanding of political issues that they have come to believe not only in the ridiculous caricatures of the opposition but in the godhood of Obama, who, other than the latter two North Korean Kims (Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un), is the least qualified person ever to rise to high office, perhaps ever, anywhere. If ever there were a post turtle pResidency, we're enduring it now. What the hell is he doing there?
For Obama's strained "binder" allusions to be effective, he has to be talking down to an especially stupid crowd, not that there aren't plenty of those people in these DNC circle jerking derision fests. What Obama doesn't habla is that the speaker has to be as stupid as those he's talking to. And he is.
What's truly funniest of all is that Obama isn't even doing a particularly good job of pretending to be smart. This pathetic character couldn't have gotten there on his own; he needed a lot of lunkhead support. The "You didn't build that" speech was inevitable, particularly coming from him, because he's never built anything of value himself. In fact, he can't conceive of it. All he knows is how to do is tax valuable things. This presidency will self destruct in five seconds.

People who are self-righteous and self-important are never, ever, ever humorous. That goes for any ideology, gender, religion, sexual orientation, whatever.
I think of the owner of the business where I work and compare him to Obama. The boss is a serious businessman and can make the tough decisions, but he also has an humble side and is willing to admit when he is wrong. He's one of the funniest people I know. I've never once witnessed him say a vulgar or disrespectful thing to any woman. Wait a minute...he reminds me of Romney!

I have to agree with all that has been previously posted, but there is one more thing I would like to point out. And that is the fact that Obozo, during this entire campaign season, has NOT laid out to the American people, a clear plan of what he would do differently in a 2nd term. All he has done is to run around the country making personal attacks on Romney. And trying to portray the success of his foreign policy. Now, the events of Benghazi has destroyed even that. And the American people are beginning to see all of this. And it's showing daily in the polls (if you believe them). One thing that Dims have never learned is that not all Americans are as dumb as they think.

It's just a question...throwing out Obama is a start, how can we throw out all the Diane Sawyer brainwashers, their writers, producers AND their privilege seeking sponsors who have faithfully been PAYING FOR ALL THE NETWORK LIES ? We can certainly boycott network nes sponsored products. We do not have to buy products that promote socialism. And we can direct our criticism and anger directly to the Diane Sawyer traitors to the truth. The old media is big time repsonsible for the Harry Reid, Puglosi, Obama dozens of CZARS agitating their communist ways. So the big time news people need to be fired from their betraying work. We don't need Communist agitprop TV. This is not 1930's agitprop communist promoting theater that America wants. We have to wake up and hold the TV droids as responsible for this mess as the pathetic Reids, Pelosis and silent Boehners. They are all the same, except nobody elects or throws out TV droids. They are just like Obama's pre historic CZARS, appointed by isiders, not responsible to the citizenry

If Barry were to be put through a session on a psychiatrist's couch, I'm afraid he wouldn't be leaving the building without being wrapped in a straight jacket. It's only the fact that he is the faux president that allows him to be sheltered by all around him, under the supervision of mama Val.

# 3 Obama's 2012 voice is high pitched and hysterical. " You didn't build that ! " I always tune the guy out , but, yesterday some radio show played a clip of Obama on the stump in 08 and even though he was rallying the voters, he spoke in a much lower , less frantic tone. The vocal contrast between 08 and 2012 is telling. Obama's hyper and womanly voice and his moronic election issues like Big Bird and binders and Romnesia really indicate desperation. The flailing panic from Obama and Biden comes through to the voters , even on a subconscious level. Romney looks and sounds like a confident winner .

I honestly don't understand what was the gaffe in Romney sayng he got binders of women who he could decide to put in good positions? Why is is funny to go over resumes? I guess I am missing something. He was hiring women- how is this bad for the women who were hired??? And if the joke is that he didn't know all these women, that isn't funny either. Why would someone running for governor know people who can run each and every government agency? I don't know anyone specializing in public utilities or in waste removal or road construction and I bet most governors elected also don't know someone who is well informed about every agency or service the government performs. Of course, the Democrats don't need binders, they ask for payments for the jobs. Finding the best qualified, I guess, is a mystery to them since they just look for who will give them the best kickback.

Re the conclusion of post 56: "Of course, the Democrats don't need binders, they ask for payments for the jobs. Finding the best qualified, I guess, is a mystery to them since they just look for who will give them the best kickback."
You nailed it. But kickbacks are not the end of the story. Don't forget their relatives. Dems hire quite a few of those. No need for binders there. And whoever coughed up the right check at the last fund-raiser (known as a "time" here in MA). That person probably gets a job too. With that crew a handshake and a wink perform wonders; again who needs binders? And lastly whichever party hack or sign holder is first in line after the kickback people, the cousins and nephews, and such are taken care of.
Dems never heard of binders. However, they do know a lot about bLinders – the better not to know exactly how so and so got hired.

The remains of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev have been buried in a Muslim cemetery in Doswell, a small community in central Virginia about 15 miles from the state capital of Richmond. Tsarnaev’s remains are interred at the Al-Barzakh Cemetery, the first Muslim cemetery in central Virginia, according to the woman who helped arrange the burial and to the Islamic Funeral Services of Virginia. The burial was coordinated Martha Mullen, 48, a Virginia woman who saw news reports about the protest outside the Worcester funeral home where Tsarnaev’s remains had languished for nearly a week, and decided to help.

DHAKA, Bangladesh - A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000. Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks.

WASHINGTON — Five days before two bombs tore through crowds at the Boston Marathon, an intelligence report identified the finish line as an "area of increased vulnerability" and warned Boston police that homegrown extremists could use "small-scale bombings" to attack spectators and runners at the event. The 18-page report, similar to others sent to police and first responders before major events in the Boston area, was written by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center, which is funded in part by the Department of Homeland Security and helps disseminate intelligence information to local police and first responders.

‘Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?” That was how then–Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously brushed off the question of when she knew that the attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were, in fact, a terrorist assault and not a “protest” of an anti-Islam video that got out of hand. Republicans on Thursday boycotted a congressional hearing for President Obama´s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, putting the nomination in doubt and enraging White House officials who dismissed the act as the most blatant case yet of GOP obstructionism. The boycott was a major blow to Gina McCarthy´s chances of winning a filibuster-proof confirmation vote in the Senate, given that, without the Republicans, progressives can´t even get McCarthy through committee. Republicans said they refused to move ahead on McCarthy until the EPA adequately responds to their questions about her,

CLEVELAND — The twin brother of kidnap victim Michelle Knight yesterday recalled his shock at seeing her alive for the first time in more than a decade. “When I saw her, she was white as a ghost,” Freddie Knight, 32, told The Post. “But she told me, ‘Come over here and give me a hug. It’s been ages!’ ” “She was happy to see me. It was emotional. She even recognized me — even though it had been 11 years.” Freddie, who is estranged from their mom, Barbara, was the first family member to see Michelle after her escape.

She weathered Whitewater. She made it past Monica ?Lewinsky. Now Hillary Clinton is hoping to beat the rap on Benghazi and make it to the White House. The Clinton political machine is in full campaign mode already, preparing for 2016 and hoping voters forget by then that she had a key role in the Obama administration’s handling of the terror attack. But that’s becoming more difficult as the GOP appears to be laying the groundwork for tying Clinton to Benghazi and making sure it stays front and center in the next campaign. Some of the testimony from State Department whistleblowers

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws. You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail today if he hadn’t produced a video crudely lampooning the prophet Muhammad. In the weeks after the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, the Obama administration claimed the terrorist assault had been the outgrowth of a demonstration against the Nakoula video.

The secretary of state was back in Washington on Thursday, begging the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to take it easy on the poor Iranians. Enough with the sanctions, he said. Secretary Kerry has joined decades of his predecessors, buying into the latest version of the 30-year old illusion that we can make a deal with the Tehran regime if only we deal properly and humbly with them. He said there was a “window of opportunity” for a couple of months. It doesn’t much matter if he really believes this legend,

One question left mainly unaddressed by yesterday’s hearing on Benghazi — and by others, as well — is the lack of preparation by the Obama administration and the US military for the potential for attack in Benghazi. After all, terrorist attacks had been increasing steadily since the fall of the Qaddafi regime in 2011. Other Western nations had already withdrawn from Benghazi due to the security risks in the region, specifically from the radical Islamist terror networks able to operate freely in eastern Libya because of the removal of Qaddafi. U.S. Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford briefly crossed into northern Syria on Thursday to meet with Syrian opposition leaders. It is Ford’s first visit back to Syria since he left in February, 2012, when the U.S. embassy suspended operations in Damascus as the opposition effort to oust Syrian President Bashar al Assad developed into a full-blown civil war. Since then, Ford has become the Obama administration’s point man on Syria and point of contact with the Syrian opposition. A U.S. official confirmed Ford’s secret visit, which occurred along the Turkey-Syria border. He briefly crossed into Syria

As a presidential speech writer for the first Bush White House, I am always very interested in what presidents say in their formal speeches. They know, of course, that their remarks will be widely covered by the press, studied by analysts, and influential in contemporary political debates. For that reason, presidents rarely speak off-the-cuff, and their every word is carefully chosen for exactly the message the White House wants to convey to the public. Their graduation speeches, like all presidential addresses, go through many drafts and are reviewed by high-level administration officials

The most notable takeaway from Jay Carney’s incomprehensible Friday appearance had little to do with his Klingon grammar. Carney does not represent the historical value of the event – you should be wise to forget his performance, and instead take note that he was flanked by the entire room, without exception. Do not underestimate the significance: the Obama administration has not faced such an onslaught of truth-seeking since he took office in 2008, and further, no Democratic administration has been charged from all sides like this in recent memory. That press conference was unthinkable just days ago

Friday, White House press secretary Jay Carney blamed Mitt Romney and Republicans for “politicizing” the Benghazi terrorist attacks. Harkening back to a Mitt Romney press conference on September 12, 2012, which addressed the Benghazi attacks only in passing while focusing instead on the assault on the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt, Carney suggested that Romney had tried to target the innocent Obama administration for telling the truth about Benghazi. “Republicans, again, in this ongoing effort that began in the hours after the attack when Mitt Romney put out a press release to try to take political

Northwestern University continued to stumble over diversity issues this week as Mexican students voiced disagreement with a campuswide letter that advised students not to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by engaging in racially-offensive activities, such as eating tacos and drinking tequila. The letter was sent to students via e-mail, and published in The Daily Northwestern last week. Leaders of Alianza, a Latino student group, and the Associated Student Government called on students to remember that Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. It is not a day to throw a sombrero-themed party, they said.

When it became clear last fall that the CIA’s now discredited Benghazi talking points were flawed, the White House said repeatedly the document were put together almost entirely by the intelligence community, but White House documents reviewed by Congress suggest a different story. ABC News has obtained 12 different versions of the talking points that show they were extensive edited as they evolved from the drafts first written entirely by the CIA to the final version distributed to Congress and to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice before she appeared on five talk shows the Sunday after that attack.

Earlier today, we learned about a bombshell report that said the CIA´s Benghazi talking points were changed 12 times, with extensive input from the State Department. It comes after State Department whistleblower Gregory Hicks testified Wednesday that he was shocked when he saw Susan Rice blaming a protest for the attack on numerous talk shows. Martha MacCallum discussed the next steps in the investigation of what happened in Benghazi with Hicks´ attorney, Victoria Toensing. At this point, she thinks "it´s about time" that House Republicans start issuing subpoenas,

Shortly before last November’s election I took part in a Fox News documentary on Benghazi, whose other participants included the former governor of New Hampshire John Sununu. Making chit-chat while the camera crew were setting up, Governor Sununu said to me that in his view Benghazi mattered because it was “a question of character.” That’s correct. On a question of foreign policy or counterterrorism strategy, men of good faith can make the wrong decisions. But a failure of character corrodes the integrity of the state. That’s why career diplomat Gregory Hicks’s testimony

The families of Navy SEALs killed in an August 2011 shoot-down of a helicopter in Afghanistan spoke at a press conference Thursday morning, citing a number of grievances, including an allegation that the Pentagon invited a Muslim cleric who “disparaged in Arabic the memory of these servicemen.” In addition to blasting the Obama administration for the mission and for an official investigation they deemed a cover-up, the families complained that “military brass, while prohibiting any mention of a Judeo-Christian God, invited a Muslim cleric to the funeral for the fallen

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for inappropriately flagging conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status. Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews. Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati, was wrong and she apologized while speaking at a conference in Washington. Many conservative groups complained during the election

It´s been 11 days and counting since the Jets cut ties with Tim Tebow and 13 months since they traded for him. Much of the conversation in the past week and a half has been about which teams -- if any -- would be interested in the former Heisman Trophy winner. The usual suspects include Tebow´s hometown Jacksonville Jaguars, but new general manager David Caldwell has said in no uncertain terms that Tebow isn´t an option (laudatory commercials from local lawyers notwithstanding). The other, less conventional landing spot: New England. Coach Bill Belichick sees value where other talent evaluators don´t
