| The intelligence and security failings that surrounded the murders of four Americans in Libya are coming into focus as far more fundamental than depicted in jousting between Republican Mitt Romney and President Obama. (Snip)The President and Secretary of State Clinton said they take full responsibility — but for what, exactly, is unclear. So, too, the question of how much of the onus Obama intends to bear. After saying he accepts the burdens of office, he tried to skate by the mortal debacle by declaring, “When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.” No, it’s an outrage that demands accountability.

There is a deep and unacknowledged Obama political motivation behind Obama's stubborn weeks of lies about Benghazi. The same thing is true about the Al Qaeda linked 'work place violence' in Ft Hood Texas, that left 14 dead.
Obama believes that he and his teleprompter, with the aid of the complicit media, can simply change reality. Imagine a mob of outraged movie critics in Benghazi. Ignore that 'terrorism' is still a threat. Just ban the word 'terrorism'. Never mention the words Al Qaeda.
There is an incredible deadly arrogance to Obama. Obama demands that you believe his lies.

For Obama to trivialize this gross dereliction of duty and incompetence by saying it's "not optimal" ... well, I just hope Mittens throws that in his face big time.

Tragically the threat reports were correct. In hindsight the threat was real and imminent. In reluctant defense of the Administration one should point out that regular reading of intelligence reports will cause the reader to down play threats as there is a steady stream of pending attacks that never materialize. It is easy to condemn after the fact when the one among many threats materialize.

There have been references made to our Embassy flag - the American flag - being the last flag flying. Everyone else had pulled out.
Ponder the symbolism of this.....
America has ALWAYS been the last to leave, in any war or situation. First in, last out. And now -
Because of Obama and his crew, the American flag is down, al qaida's is up in Benghazi, and all because he wanted to play nice with the islamists.... thinking they believed he 'understood' them and would play nice in return.
So... just how well DOES he understand them? He allowed our ambassador - HIS OWN APPOINTEE - to be rendered defenseless in a highly volatile location with increasing risk and danger, and as a consequence four Americans are dead ('bumps in the road', 'not optimal') due to his carelessness, and the American flag is down and gone. Burned.
Is this the future he wants for America?
I think we all know by now the answer to that.

On Fox last night, Bret Baier had an outstanding special that recreated the exact sequence of events in Benghazi. It included interviews with the former head of our security detail that was pulled out of there before the attack.
The inescapable conclusion of this special report is that it was a planned terrorist attack, that the State Department was negligent in removing the security detail, and that multiple cables requesting help during the attack were ignored too long to save them.
Bottom line...the malfeasance here is so serious that the gratuitous and very late acceptance of blame is insufficient. Heads should roll. This was dereliction of duty of the highest order. Both the Secretary of State and the President are unfit to serve.

The Obama Administration's story surrounding the Benghazi Terrorist Attack has more holes than swiss cheese. When you look at the timeline presented by Ambassador Stevens and the Security Team in Libya, one has to wonder if that obscured movie trailer wasn't planted by the Administration as cover.

Obie thought he had the ear of his muslim buddies in Benghazi. He thought that his opportunistic foray to take out Kadaffi would buy him easy political points and another great speech behind the teleprompter.
While Nixon had to resign due to an 18-minute gap on a white house tape, not likely to happen to Obie because he has only a few months left in this job. After Romney is inaugurated in January, these Benghazi murders and the failings under Obie's administration will continue I suspect.

#6's reference to relying on intelligence reports reminded me of my times in the Middle East (Egypt and Saudi Arabia) - any American who has ever lived in these countries or spent any amount of time visiting them knows beyond all doubt two things:
1. When the locals get themselves worked up any American is potential game to be hunted down by inflamed mobs. 2. The only way to be safe from #1 is to have U.S. military protection, preferably Marines, or to get out until things calm down. "Local" security will, and does, invariably join the mob as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
The fact that our State Department doesn't know what travelers to these regions know has resulted in unnecessary deaths and a Middle East about to blow sky high. The fact that Obama either thought or pretended that a youtube video was the sole cause of this incident is proof that he is completely out of touch with how the world works and is quite capable of letting his misunderstanding lead to multiple wars and thousands of deaths rather than admit he is wrong. The U.S. economy is another fine example of his ignorance coupled with arrogance. Typhoid Mary has nothing on Bubonic Barack.

#6, you might be correct if not for:
a. The administration's involvement in destabilizing Libya by working to overthrow their government, without a thought as to who would fill the power vacuum.
b. Supplying weapons to our enemies.
c. The fact that the Ambassador (who was on the ground in Libya) had specifically requested increased security.
d. All of the above, squared, in light of the anniversary of 911.
Other than that, yeah. There are always threats. Nothing to see here, move along. I think I see a "binder" over by "Big Bird."

From a post at WSJ:
"Two years previously, Obama appointed Tom Donilon as Chair of the NSC to replace Marine Gen Jim Jones. Mr. Donilon, close to Joe Biden, was an attorney rich in experience of directing public retlations for governing bodies. No particular military, diplomatic, nor intelligence background, he is selected to lead the NSC. a White House organ, to whom the disinterested President Obama has delegated a good deal of his authority to direct the nation's security .....remember he did not attend the majority of the daily intelligence briefings. Engagement in Libya was attributed to be a victory for Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and Smantha Powers at the NSC level.
In two years (appointed October 8, 2010) Tom Donilon appears to have been effective....suddenly leaks of classified information flattering the campaigning President appear....such as the triumphalism of Osama Bin Laden's assassination and the details of stuxnet cyberwar. Robert Gates in retiring from leading the DoD was quoted as telling Tom Donilon 'to shut the ......up'.
Now the stiffing of the bad news from Benghazi. Much of the difficulty in ferreting out the details of the Benghazi cover-up is failing to understand just how pervasive the NSC has been in manipulating official news releases. In autocracies, this role is reserved for the Minister of Propaganda....and Americans are not use to being so dishonestly treated.
Not an inadvertent 'screw-up' as Obama is now saying."

That's a pretty gentle assessment, #6. Just say "no" to more affirmative action forgiveness for administration dereliction. No more softballs! There was plenty of time for the US to take action, once the violence started in Benghazi.
The question still remains why this all unfolded the way it did. I could imagine as many as 4-5 ulterior motives along with the possibility of just general dereliction. It's hard to pinpoint.
The real question, the rub is, why did the key administration "players" call it a night, go to bed and allow those poor Americans to perish like that? It'll all come out in the wash eventually.
We do NOT leave Americans hanging like that, donkey swinging in the breeze, for target practice! How about that one brave US soldier who returned in a humvee again and again and again under heavy fire, to rescue that squad that had been hit in Iraq? That kind of bravery is beyond this president.

Obama is not capable of learning from experience. The word enemy is not in his vocabulary. Muslim brotherhood and Al Queda are enemies and prove it every day yet Obama clings to the ideas he had in his inaugural speech where we show them we mean no harm, open our hand and they will unclench their fist! He is far more worried by domestic political adversaries than foreign enemies. With this mindset in our C in C there is no point in having any military. That is why it is the only branch of government to ever be cut under Obama. Obama is what went wrong in Benghazi!

I don't think there is anything he can do now that will not look desperate to show strength. There are too many facts already out there, and testimony under oath before congress. We all saw the denials and lies on TV.. this isn't a story with facts that need to come out.. investigations that need to complete in a year or so, that will show details that can exonerate him. Kind of justice in a way. He got to power by using politics instead of having a love of country. And the one thing he didn't want to really deal with, is going to be the thing that brings him down.

What really went wrong in Bengazi is that we shouldn't have been in Bengazi or any other part of Libya in the first place. We foolishly helped replace a stable- although unfriendly- government in Libya with chaos... and that without approval by our Congress.
There is a moral here somewhere.

The article starts by mentioing intellegience failings, but when they warn the administration several days in advance that something appears to be planned, when the leader of Alqueda publicly calls for it, that Libya is Al Queda trouble, that there have been other attacks in Libya ... that's quite a bit of intelligence success and a lot failure by The Won who cares about other things. For cryng out loud, if you read the newspapers, you knew they were going to try something.
Is the accepted requirement that the CIA identify the time, place, people and particulars of attack before Obama has to do something? I reject the failed intelligence narrative as any kind of excuse or reason whatsoever.
It would appear that if you're in Libya and have at least recently been trying to do what the U.S has been asking - you can be Quadaffi or you can be Stevens - but if Obama's involved, you're dying from an Islamic bayonet where the sun don't shine. The fruits of Obama policy are something to behold.

This really goes to the heart of what America needs in the Commander in Chief. It's not someone who just looks cool in a leather bombardier jacket with the presidential seal on it. What is needed is someone with both the judgment and the readiness to act quickly when American lives are in danger. And clearly, this series of events over several weeks confirms that Obama has failed his principal duties as Commander in Chief.

I've been following this tragedy very closely. Allow me to offer a thought-provoking timeline:
* Sep 5 - An Egyptian TV station shows a segment of the anti-Muhammed video. * Sep 11 - Before the attack on the Cairo embassy even begins, the U.S. embassy puts out a despicable apology e-mail apologizing for the video. * Romney responded to that e-mail before the news of Benghazi even broke * The administration caused the e-mail to disappear down the memory hole almost immediately * When Benghazi happened, the administration immediately - AND INTENTIONALLY - connected it to the video. *This accomplished at least three goals: 1. It allowed Obama to once again come down on the side, and in defense of, Islam. 2. In hyping the spontaneous mob story, it covered the Administration's specious claim that al-Qaeda was "decimated" and "on the run." 3. It attempted to cover for the disgusting lack of security in Libya. * Obama chose to treat this as a criminal issue. His DOJ ordered the FBI to investigate. It took more than two weeks before the FBI even got to Benghazi * This was a deliberate delaying tactic to push the issue beyond the election. * Clinton did a similar delaying move when the U.S.S. Cole was attacked on Oct 12,2000, to help Al Gore. http://tinyurl.com/8ufznsr
I am no fan of radical Islam, but I have serious misgivings about sending a homosexual (Libya) and a female (Egypt) to represent U.S. interests in these homophobic and misogynist countries. [Note that the female U.S. Ambassador was not even in the Cairo Embassy on Sept 11, 2012. I wonder why not.]
Even those of us with the strongest stomachs are going to hurl when the truth about this administration finally comes out. AND IT WILL.

What really went wrong in Benghazi is that in 2008 the American Idol Addicted Takers went to the polls and elected a Quasi-Muslim Marxist who has been shoveling Bravo Sierra down our throats, and playing golf for the last three+ years.
I want to know how much information about the previous terrorist attacks at Benghazi was reported in the Daily Briefs that the Marxist ignored, and instead, spent time on the golf course, and being feted by Ghetto Thug Rappers, with his hand out, begging for money so he can get reelected and finish the job of destroying the nation.
I want to know exactly what intelligence the Marxist was ignoring that got four Americans killed in Benghazi.
It seems to me, that's question that's not being asked. What was it? 46% of the daily briefs that 0b@$tard ignored?

What went wrong in Benghazi was Obama's anti-American Middle East Foreign policy. He encouraged the Arab spring which was suppose to bring 'peace' and 'Democracy' throughout the Middle East. The problem is they are replacing Arab dictators with Islamic Extremists who are no better than the dictators. On the eleventh anniversery of 9/11, Americans were murdered, and the Benghazi embassy went up in flames. When that happened, Obama's anti-American foreign policy went up in flames, but Obama does not want to abandon it, and he is lying through his teeth to protect it and himself.
There was probably no security at the embassy because our anti-American state department was more sympathetic to our enemies than our own people, and thought Americans either should not be there or were safe if they kept a low profile.
This is Barack Obama's foreign policy in action.

They can study this situation to death but it has been obvious since 9/11 what al Qaeda did. They mounted a coordinated attack using heavy weapons and they accomplished their objective, which was destruction and murder of American officials and security people.
As for what the U.S. Government did, it will turn out to be one version or another of extremely stupid foreign policy that will be a contender for the Jimmy Carter Charlie Foxtrot award. That's all we need to know.

Right on, right on, right on #25. Perhaps Monday night's debate will shed more light on what the Once thinks about this. His appearances all over TV on Letterman and those other "intellegent" programs does show how he likes to appear intellegent and in charge. Ugh.
We found out in the last encounter with Obama that Romney has a handle on economics and how it works. Obama's economic thinking is absolutely wrong and naive'
His foreign policy suffers for the same reason(and also Hillary for promting it) His policy was so bad that he had to lie about it and then sent others out to do the same.
Any type of October Surprise will fall with a thud because no one believes him or thinks his policies are successful. Is there anyone left on the planet that thinks he is competent? Not many.

There is something very sinister in play here. Did Obama make a private agreement with The Muslim Brotherhood before intervening in Libya? The whole intervention in Libya struck me as bizarre from the very beginning. He's had their leadership at the White House for God sake. WHY would any American president do such a thing? They hate and want to kill us as the four dead Americans know only too well. We need to start connecting the dots starting at the beginning of our involvment with this third world cess-pool country.

Actually, Romney should NOT latch on to the "not optimal" thing. When put in context, Obama was responding to Jon Stewart's comments about "optimal security", or some such. Obama's response was kind of sarcastic, "well, when you have 4 Americans dead, it's not optimal". If Romney were to use it, it would end up backfiring because the context makes it clear that, FOR ONCE, he wasn't trying to be flip or callous. I'll try to find the context again....

Here it is.
Jon Stewart: "Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page," he said.
"Here's what I'll say," Obama responded. "If four Americans get killed, it's not optimal. We're going to fix it."

Also watch Judge Jeanine. She had a host of military experts, previous station chiefs and the CIA on. SOP and methods debunk Obama admin assertions.
Sadly, we could've had the cavalry there in a matter of a few hours...and the drone that was there while it all went down likely could have suppressed the Jihadists until military Rapid Response got there. The outrage also includes why generals, the CIA director (Petraeus) and so many others are mute.
Heads must roll over this debacle...Watergate pales in comparison. Obama lied; people died!

Frustration is taking its toll in the liberals’ war against guns. President Obama, pushing his broad gun control agenda, said we should be ashamed if we’ve forgotten the Newtown shooting so soon. The New York Times opined that Obama is being shouted down by the “gun lobby,” even though he and Biden had been crisscrossing the country “…making a forceful case for a package of laws that would reduce gun violence.” That, of course, is the media narrative on gun control. For every issue there is a narrative: a set of assumptions and boundaries of thought

GOLFE-JUAN, France—Frank Samson has prepared for a long time to meet his Waterloo. The French lawyer impersonates Napoleon Bonaparte at re-enactment battles, but it is no idle hobby. Mr. Samson has found what he says are perfect replicas of the French general´s gray overcoat, he has studied Napoleon´s native Corsican tongue and he has had himself crowned emperor of France, in a cathedral yet. In 2015, he wants to lead thousands of military enthusiasts into the ultimate re-enactment: the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo in Belgium. But an American rival stands in his way. Is it time to give up the fight against Obamacare? That’s a question some conservative health-care experts, pundits, and — more quietly — politicians are asking. In the first years after its passage, opponents had hoped that the Supreme Court would strike down the law or that a new president would sign its repeal before most of it took effect. But the Supreme Court decided to modify a few of its provisions instead of striking it down, and President Obama was reelected. Repeal is almost certainly off the table for four years. Obamacare will continue to be implemented.

As the bipartisan Gang of Eight works to complete a comprehensive immigration reform bill, there has been a growing consensus among Senate Republicans that the bill — so far seen by no one outside the Gang — should be the subject of multiple hearings and extended consideration inside the Senate Judiciary Committee. But on Sunday there were signs that consensus does not extend to the Republicans inside the Gang. Appearing on CBS, longtime immigration reform advocate and Gang member Sen. John McCain suggested the immigration issue is so familiar to lawmakers that multiple hearings will not be necessary.

Via Fox Nation, newly released statistics show that illegal immigrant infiltration along the U.S.-Mexico border is increasing markedly despite recent statements to the contrary by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano: “I can tell you having worked that border for 20 years, it is more secure now than it has ever been. Illegal apprehensions are at 40-year lows,” Napolitano told reporters this week in Houston. But figures released Thursday by Customs and Border Protection to Fox News tell a different story. Arrests are actually up 13 percent

The White House press corps should ask President Obama this question: You’ve told Iran’s leaders that if they come close to marrying a nuclear warhead with a missile that can hit the United States or our allies, they should expect a U.S. military attack on their soil. (Snip)Administration officials would never admit it, but the main reason for their being tougher on Iran than North Korea seems tied to American domestic politics as much or more than anything else, specifically the standing of Israel and oil versus Korea and Japan.

AS a Texas-raised journalist, I can tell you two things with confidence about my native state. One, its economy has been humming nicely for years. Two, this appears to greatly offend a certain breed of Northern writer, several of whom have descended on the state in an attempt to rebut stories of a “Texas miracle.” (Snip) “Texas has a long tradition of looking outside the government for support — and often finding it. That predates the Texas revolution and was reinforced by the rise of the cattle kingdom and the oil booms.”

One of the more disturbing aspects of the internet culture — fed largely by the ability to post anonymously — is the rash of mean, hateful comments made following the death of a prominent figure associated with one side or the other. It’s a disease that afflicts both sides. The death of Ted Kennedy a few years ago brought out the haters on the right to an unprecedented degree. The vitriol and foul language as well as carefully composed comments designed to inflict the maximum amount of pain that were the rule on the right

It took little more than the headline of this article to begin raising eyebrows Gun shop that sold to mother of Newtown shooter loses license (Reuters) – The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said on Friday it had revoked the federal license of a Connecticut gun retailer that sold a weapon to the mother of Adam Lanza, who killed 26 people at an elementary school in December. The agency on December 20 revoked the license of Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor, Connecticut, ATF spokeswoman Debora Seifert said.

La Jolla´s jagged coastline is strictly protected by environmental laws to ensure the San Diego community remains the kind of seaside jewel that has attracted swanky restaurants, top-flight hotels and some of the nation´s rich and famous, including billionaire businessman Irwin Jacobs and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Tourists flock to the place. So do birds. Lots of birds. And with those birds comes lots of poop. So rather than gasping in amazement at the beautiful views, some are holding their noses from the stench coming from the droppings that cake coastal rocks and outcroppings near its business district.

Obama, Kerry and Hagel thought that they had a plan for putting North Korea back in the box. North Korea had conducted a nuclear test in February, violating once again the various understandings that had been worked out. But agreements and understandings, written or oral, had never meant much to the repressive regime which had suspended the Armistice Agreement that ended the Korean War numerous times—including last month. So Obama decided to wave a stick. The playbook for North Korea would feature flights by B-2 and B-52 bombers and F-22 fighter jets to remind

The quasi-official ideology of the U.S. armed forces holds that generals are virtually interchangeable, that individual personalities don’t matter much, that ordinary grunts are in any case more important than their leaders, and that what really counts are larger systems that make a complex bureaucracy function. There is some truth to all of this. But for all of the bureaucratic heft of the services and the heroism of ordinary soldiers, it is hard to imagine the Civil War having been won without Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan—or World War II without Marshall, Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, Arnold, LeMay, Nimitz, Halsey,

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — As many as 25 students at a Massachusetts school were denied lunch this week — with at least some forced to dump their food in the garbage — because they couldn´t pay, school officials and parents said. Outraged parents said some students at Coelho Middle School in Attleboro cried when they were told by a worker for the district´s food service provider they could not eat on Tuesday because they couldn´t pay or their pre-paid accounts were short on funds. The on-site director for the company, Whitsons Culinary Group of Islandia, N.Y., was placed on administrative leave by
