Romney nearing 270

| The Obama team is showing signs if stress. VP Joe Biden is out gaffe-making again. The president goes on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show and says, “When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.” (Oh. My. Goodness.) He is falling behind in state and national polls. So is it time for Democrats to panic? Well, many signs point that way. Mitt Romney is now leading President Obama nationally in the RealClearPolitics average. He is over 50 percent in Gallup. No candidate over 50 percent in Gallup

I despise the President as much as anyone, but I must say I think our side is misrepresenting what happened on the Stewart show and, in doing so, behaving like the Left when it lies about our guys! Obama was responding to what Stewart had said. Stewart had used the word "optimal" and Obama was using it in his response. It is being made out like Obama was saying that the death of four Americans was no big deal! In fact, he was trying, though perhaps not in the best or artful way, to say just the opposite. Let's be fair.

They keep saying Romney cannot win without Ohio. Sorry, but it's the other way around.
Romney should win FL, NC, VA and CO. If he wins OH that brings him to over 269.
If Romney loses OH, he can still win with a combination of NV, WI, MI, PA, NH and IA.

Now there are many, many dems that cannot vote again for the bummer and they won't vote for a Republican. Thats fine. Don't vote. When Huffington departed the 4,400 square foot, seven-story apartment at 227 W. 17th Street in January she´d caused $275,000 in damages ranging from "gouged, stained and otherwise damaged" walls, "scratched, punctured" wood floors, bloodied mattresses and broken appliances, the Manhattan Supreme Court suit charges. "Huffington was using the apartment for large parties and business functions in breach of the sublease and Huffington´s promises," court papers allege.

The Weekly Standard obtained a copy of the program for President Obama’s Easter service at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., and reports a few “highlights” from Rev. Dr. Luis Leon’s sermon: We often want things to go back to the way things used to be, before “work got difficult and faith got confused, and life got more confusing,” but when we dwell on the “if only” of life we forget that “God addresses us in the now.” As Jesus told Mary not to hold on to the past, “You cannot go back.”

Although the term "useful idiots" was originally attributed to Vladimir Lenin, its origin is undetermined but it is very applicable to the naïve celebrities in Hollywood and the media now mourning the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Much like the devotees of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, these grieving individuals have made no effort to learn the truth about those they lionize. One has to feel some pity for the likes of the Sean Penns, Oliver Stones, Michael Moores, Danny Glovers, and idolaters who naively support malignant despots and causes believing them to be a force for good.

Jurors convicted Kilpatrick of a raft of crimes, including a racketeering conspiracy charge that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years behind bars. He was portrayed during a five-month trial as an unscrupulous politician who took bribes, rigged contracts and lived far beyond his means while in office until fall 2008.

Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday´s funeral of Britain´s Margaret Thatcher. It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

National Republicans are pulling the plug on Mark Sanford’s suddenly besieged congressional campaign, POLITICO has learned — a potentially fatal blow to the former South Carolina governor’s dramatic comeback bid. Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election. “Mark Sanford has proven he knows what it takes to win elections. At this time, the NRCC will not be engaged in this special election,”
