| Washington - Gay rights advocates won another victory Thursday in their fight for equal treatment under law, when the U.S appeals court in New York struck down a key part of the Defense of Marriage Act and held for the first time that gays and lesbians are a minority group deserving of special protection from discrimination under the Constitution. The U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan joined a growing number of federal judges in New England and California who have ruled that the U.S. government may not deny equal federal benefits to legally married gay couples.

A growing number of LEFTIST judges who are pulling such a definition not out of law or the Constitution but out from under their robes, in the back. Equal rights does NOT mean special rights.

The only real minority group left in the USA is composed of white men. There are so many other unique factions receiving special treatment that they are leaving white men as the only true minority group, which is great ,because I am quite ready to sign up for all the bennies, like food stamps, welfare, subsidized housing, home loan principal reduction, special reductions for various home modifications, discounted cars, and so
forth. Its about time that we, the white men,
of American, can lead the battle for entitlements. We deserve it ,after paying for other groups for so long. Income distribution fits my bill, and I am just waiting for the
instruction booklet explaining how I can lower my standard of living to meet the Obama quota. You think it might be called in on my free cell phone. Nah ! That's really just for calling taxis and checking when the next party is.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Women made up 51 percent of the electorate, compared to 49 percent among women.
