Clinton: GOP has tried to keep jobless rate high

| PARMA, Ohio - Former President Bill Clinton says Republicans have tried to keep the nation's unemployment rate high for political gain. Campaigning in Ohio for President Barack Obama, Clinton says the GOP was "crushed" when the jobless rate fell to 7.8 percent last month. He says Republicans nearly managed to keep it above 8 percent "all the way to the election. But they failed." Clinton didn't say specifically what he thought Republicans had done to try to keep unemployment above 8 percent. The former president also criticized some Republicans who suggested the most recent unemployment figures were rigged.

This makes perfect sense in his pea-brain! In the real world, businesses would love to have a low employment rate, the economy would be booming, good for business, good for the country. Another case of 2+2=3. What a nimrod!

So how did the Republicans pull this off!!
Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months. The increase represents a rebound from the previous week's sharp drop. Both swings were largely due to technical factors.
The Labor Department says the four-week average of applications, a less volatile measure, fell slightly to 365,500, a level consistent with modest hiring. Last week, California reported a large drop in applications, pushing down the overall figure to the lowest since February 2008.
This week, it reported a significant increase as it processed applications delayed from the previous week. (Read More: Why Jobless Claims May Not Be as Good as Market Thinks.) A department spokesman says the seasonally adjusted numbers "are being distorted ... by an issue of timing."

If the GOP is so powerful it can actually influence the jobless rate - let's get them in the WH, in control of the Senate and a bigger House majority!

Yes, and here's how it worked. All GOP members in Congress had a list of CEOs and business owners in their respective states and districts and each evening they would make phone calls to tell them all not add to their employee populations. It's as simple as that. Where do these morons come up with this drivel?

That's why states like Ohio that elected Republican governors are showing lower unemployment numbers nationwide. Kasich has been working hard, regardless of the effect on the presidential election. On the other hand, states like North Carolina with Bev Perdue (D) at the helm are clicking along at around 9.7% unemployed. Thankfully that's about to change with Pat McCrory (R) soon to be taking over.

Clinton thinks himself an economic savant because he was the beneficiary of the Cold War peace dividend, the Gulf War over, and cell phones/PCs/internet all going mass market. All of these, and a '94 GOP electoral tidal wave, brought about a strong economic period.
He gets a little backhanded credit because his and Hillary's liberal nonsense brought about the '94 repudiation, and his Treasury secretary Rubin was for a strong dollar. So I thank him for that.
But he's no economic genius, and he grates the hell out of me by pretending to be.
He's a lot of things, and most all of those things are not considered positive attributes.

It is not Republicans who shut down drilling in gulf states or prevented the pipeline from Canada. Nor did they push through bribes to get Obamacare passed which makes employers hesitant to hire people because of the uncertainty of costs and constraints. It is not Republicans who have employers fearful to hire due to the threat of increased taxes and restrictive regulations. Clinton continues with lies, but less people believe him.

Well, when you throws vast amounts of gov't money at things like roads, bridges, green energy - you get the most amount of money going to the fewest quantity of workers, the least amount of spin-off and the largest number of bankruptcy inspired layoffs. THAT'S how that stimulus is workin' for ya.

The U.S. has been denied direct access to the only publicly known suspect in custody in connection with the Benghazi terror attack, Fox News has learned, with U.S. interrogators still unable to sit in the same room as the Egypt-held prisoner to ask questions. Abu Ahmed, also known as Mohammed Jamal, is suspected of establishing Islamist training camps in Eastern Libya where militants who took part in the Sept. 11 Benghazi terrorist attack were able to train. Ahmed is not suspected of directly taking part in the attack which left four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, dead.

For the past five months, the Republican message on foreign policy message has been defined by a single word: Benghazi. Ever since the deadly September 11 attack on the U.S. compound in that Libyan city, Republicans have obsessed over the episode. Mitt Romney made Benghazi a favorite talking point in the 2012 campaign home stretch. More recently, Republicans have invoked Benghazi to shoot down one would-be cabinet nominee, Susan Rice, and delay two others, Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. They have dragged a parade of administration officials, including Hillary Clinton

TIMBUKTU, Mali - One of the last things the bearded fighters did before leaving this city was to drive to the market where traders lay their carpets out in the sand. The al-Qaida extremists bypassed the brightly-colored, high-end synthetic floor coverings and stopped their pickup truck in front of a man selling more modest mats woven from desert grass, priced at $1.40 apiece. There they bought two bales of 25 mats each, and asked him to bundle them on top of the car, along with a stack of sticks.
