Whoopi Goldberg to Ann Romney: Isn't it
against the Mormon religion
to fight in wars?

Washington Examiner, by Charlie Spiering

Original Article

Posted By:abuela10, 10/18/2012 12:18:39 PM

Explaining that if Romney became president, Whoopi Goldberg questioned Ann Romney on The View today how, as a Mormon, she would respond to mothers who lost their children in wars since their religion did not allow them to fight. "As First Lady, if you get the job, it's going to tell a lot of things and one of those things is going to be talking to the mothers whose children are coming home in bags, you know, from wars," she said. Now, I know -- I believe that your religion doesn't allow you to go fight."

Mormons are not pacifists. They serve in all branches of the military and have for many decades. My brother-in-law is LDS and he flew F-16s and F-101s for the air force for many years. His father, also LDS, flew B17s in WWII, was shot down three times and earned a DFC. They are not unique or atypical.

Goldberg is a typical leftist in that she thinks she knows much when in fact she knows very, very little. This woman, and many others like her, strut their "knowledge" about the world in front of millions but just about any time you pin them down they demonstrate an amazing degree of ignorance.

There are a lot of Mormans in all the military services and in the police services. In fact the last border patrolman who was killed on the Mexican border was a Morman.

This was just another example of the liberals bringing up the point that Romney is a Morman. Of course liberals claim it would be racist to speculate as to what religion Obama is actually faithful.

You're quite right #21. One of the most decorated and respected General Officers in George Washington's staff was Nathaniel Green "the Battling Quaker".

LDS adherents have never been pacifists. Whoopi has the typical liberal attitude. "Lump them all together cause they all look alike and all think alike"!

Reply 26 - Posted by: Talk2, 10/18/2012 1:09:22 PM     (No. 8942851)

Why didn't Whoopi know the Mormon religion produces some of the most patriotic citizens in this country? A Mormon friend told me and I later saw it first hand, that boys and girls are encouraged to know about our military and in college to enroll in ROTC to understand the military even better. Young women are not encouraged to go on to earn a commission in the last two years of the program as young men could do, but knowing about your country and its institutions make them better wives and mothers, and I believe that.

A group of about 100 high school students traveling from New York to Atlanta were thrown off a flight, along with their chaperones, after the pilot and crew lost patience with some kids who wouldn´t sit down and put away their cellphones. The teenagers, all seniors at the Yeshiva of Flatbush, in Brooklyn, were ordered off the AirTran flight around 6 a.m. Monday as it sat at a gate at LaGuardia Airport. AirTran´s parent company, Southwest Airlines, said in a statement that flight attendants asked passengers several times to take their seats

Frank Lautenberg, the Democratic senator from New Jersey who died today at age 89, will be remembered by others for his career in government. To me the more fascinating story is his career in business. Because the company where Lautenberg spent the 30 years between 1952 and 1982 — longer than the time he spent in the Senate — is a classic example that manages to encapsulate both the genius and the risks of a certain kind of American business. That brutally blatant daylight near-beheading of that British soldier in a London suburb by Islamic jihadists has prompted many to worry if such a tragedy will happen in this country. The news that the killer, Michael Adebolaj, 28, had been looked at by MI-5 into extremism ties for the past eight years and that he had preached on the same streets days before the murder, clearly shows that Rigby´s murder could have been prevented if the government wasn´t so beholden to political correctness.
