The Candy-Obama Controversy:
'Get the Transcript'

American Spectator, by Jeffrey Lord

A number of readers have either posted in the comment section beneath my piece on The Candy Crowley Tipping Point or written to me about this exchange from the debate the other night. (The controversial part in bold.)Romney: I want to make sure we get that for the record, because it took the President 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror. Obama: Get the transcript.Crowley: He did, in fact, sir. So let me call it an act of terror in the Rose Garden. He used the word--

Comments:
Shenanigans!! Crowley is corrupt.

Crowley is corrupt alright.. right along with most of the MSM who have traded journalitic integrity for Marxist ideology and sold their souls in the bargan!

Obama was quick to claim he said it was a terrorist attack the next day, when millions were watching, but when the debate was over, he told the questioner why he delayed calling it a terrorist attack. We all know which it was, there is proof. Obama is a liar, and it provable. Too bad Romney was taken aback and didn’t respond the way he could have.

This election is about character and NO ONE in this administration has any... none!
The truth has been decimated by this administration yet people still believe him and will vote for him for reasons they can’t explain. Why? Because they vote based on perception, not truth and he tells them what they want to hear. 2nd, he is the icon of a culture that has abandoned God in favor of a secular non-judgmental do whatever you want society. That is destroying this nation from within, values based on human laws, not on God.

The predominant "news" organizations are full of democrat hacks. WE all know it. How come the Stupid Party doesn't seem to? Why do republican "leaders" continue to agree to "debates" that they should know are stacked against their candidate? HUH?!!!

Do we believe what he says or what he does? He blamed it on the video for quite awhile and now he wants people to think otherwise.

We really need to vote him out. No more paralyzing debt, no Obamacare, no cuts to defense etc. Vote no to Obama and yes to Romney.

When a debate turns into a tag-team match. . . .

I'd say shame on Crowley, but the liberals have no shame.

Reply 6 - Posted by: southron, 10/18/2012 12:31:15 PM     (No. 8942720)

Why did an audience of supposedly "undecideds" applaud when Crowley rebuffed Romney by falsely claiming that Obama had called it a terror attack?

Reply 7 - Posted by: Safari Man, 10/18/2012 12:45:15 PM     (No. 8942770)

She flashed a piece of paper when Obama commanded "get the transcript" and, to anyone including Romney, it would appear she was holding up the transcript that Obama had JUST verified the wording. No matter what it was, it would appear that she had the wording in front of her -- that had to have an effect on Romney.

Romney was ambushed. And the media is congratulating Obama for this sophistry. Imagine if this were George Bush pulling this stunt as sitting president. They'd be constructing the gallows before the debate was done.

Two paragraphs before the 'acts of terrorism' reference, Obama had changed the topic to 9/11/2001. Read it!!
Regardless of that, why did he reference the video seven times before the world at his UN speech, why did he blame the video on multiple celebrity tv appearances, and why did he instruct 'his guys' to say the rioting at our embassies around the world was about the video? Could it be that his Foreign policy has failed as witnessed by the chaos of the Middle East? Could it be that the religion of peace is actually at war with us?

FTA:That's all that's been said thus far. Did she actually have a copy right in front of her? Hard to tell whether she had notes on the subject or the actual transcript.

No Mr. Lord thats not all thats been said thus far.

From Candy's "The View" Interview:
She had a transcript of the President’s Rose Garden remarks in front of her, she said, and that’s why she made her remark..”

So yes she did admit to having a copy last paragraph.

The only way Obama could have known that she had a transcript is if his staff gave it to her. He cheated. She helped. Disgraceful.

On Monday night, in Romney's opening remarks he should ask Bob Shieffer, point blank if he has any transcripts in front of him. Then he should turn to Obama and ask him if he is wired in any way. I would also love to hear Romney use the "bless your heart" phrase during the debate. "You've done what you thought would work, bless your heart, but now it's time to turn this country over to someone who knows what he's doing."

I have known two Candy's in my life. One was a ho and the other was a jerk. This Candy seems to follow the pattern.

I would love to see Megan Kelly moderate a debate. If they won't use Megan then they need to get Watson from Jeopardy.

Consider it an opportunity overlooked. It´s surprising that Jose Pedro Simoes Ferreira´s name didn´t surface during John Kerry´s confirmation hearings for Secretary of State. Mr. Ferreira, 78, is the older brother of Mr. Kerry´s wife, Fox Chapel ketchup heiress Teresa Heinz. Ferreira also is a former Portuguese naval officer linked to leftist Portuguese politics and reportedly backed a 1974 coup against Portuguese Prime Minister Marcello Caetano. According to Allegheny County voter registration records, Ferreira lives in a four-bedroom, 3½ bathroom $628,000 home on Squaw Run Road in Fox Chapel on property adjacent to the sprawling 87-acre Heinz estate.

Just one hour after the seven-hour-long terrorist attacks upon the U.S. consulate in Benghazi began, our commander-in-chief, vice president, secretary of defense and their national security team gathered together in the Oval Office listening to phone calls from American defenders desperately under siege and watching real-time video of developments from a drone circling over the site. Yet they sent no military aid that might have intervened in time to save lives. Why? The attack began on September 11, at about 10:00 p.m. Libyan time (4:00 p.m. in Washington). Just how badly did CNN's Candy Crowley destroy her first (and hopefully last) attempt as a presidential debate moderator? More than 65 million people saw that she is to debate moderation as CNN is to "news." Barack Obama made a fatal mistake when he lied, claiming he'd labeled the Libya attack as an act of terrorism. The look on Romney's face said it all: Mr. President, here comes checkmate.

Conservative critics have launched an attack on CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, who moderated Tuesday's second presidential debate, after she corrected former Gov. Mitt Romney's claim that President Barack Obama did not refer to the consulate attack in Benghazi as an "act of terror." Obama said in the debate that on September 12, he called the attack in Libya that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, an "act of terror."

Candy Crowley’s signature moment as moderator of Tuesday’s rough-and-tumble presidential debate came when she was called upon to referee a dispute over President Barack Obama’s description of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya as an act of terror. When Republican Mitt Romney questioned whether the president had done so, Crowley said, “He did, in fact, sir.”“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” Obama said, as the debate’s audience broke into applause.

Maine Democrat Cynthia Dill is rare among her fellow Democratic candidates in that her run for Senate is entirely independent of the national party. But that’s not by choice. Dill hasn’t received the endorsement of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and she doesn’t have the financial or technical backing of the party. Though DSCC chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) has said Democrats would be monitoring the race, they’ve offered no indication that they’ll be investing funds in Dill’s bid,
