| From now until the third and final presidential debate, and quite probably even after that, President Obama and Mitt Romney will fight on the ground, over the airwaves, and in social media over the four Ls and four swing states. Each of the Ls is a symbol of a larger issue. They are, in no particular order: Libya, Ledbetter, Lying, and Lame. The four swing states are Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada (more on them in minute). 1. Libya is about presidential leadership, accountability, the U.S. approach to perils and possibilities of the so-called Arab Spring

I ordered four Romney/Ryan yard signs two months ago. Was on my Visa card, paid for a long time ago. Just got an e-mail yesterday they have been shipped.
Seems likely, at a high level, to be part of late campaign surge strategy.

So if Obama is conceding FL, VA and NC they can't feel good about either OH or NH despite what the article says. IA is almost always a fluke. One never knows whats in the water in that state and I wouldn't be surprised to see that one fall to Obama again. From what I've seen in other sites, NH and OH are both trending Romney, while NV is too volatile (but I'm not optimistic there..Remember Reid in 2010?).
Perhaps a better strategy for Mitt would be to keep up the pressure in NH & OH, but look to pick off PA, WI or MI or all 3! And recent polls are showing CT and even NJ going wobbly for B.O. Lets hope we can keep that ground game going for a few more weeks.

I think Obama's big scheme was to funnel billions to liberal elite cronies who would then take over the industrial complexes in this country,unionize all the workers and continue to crush average small businesses.All these overpaid unionized workers would put a demand on the private economy and rescue that. the people is this country is entrenched in the old ways and reject this kind of big government takeover.
This is one of those things liberals draw up on chalkboards behind closed doors but have no solution when they hit a barrier.

#2, I share your Romney/Ryan yard sign pain. I ordered one sign almost three months ago, the credit card charge went through, the sign never arrived. I complained, but got no response. So, I ordered one from Amazon, it arrived promptly and has been displayed in my yard ever since.

Wolf Blitzer took to the airwaves at 5pm Eastern time, about two hours after the twin bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Wolf brought on CNN contributor Tom Fuentes, who didn’t want to ‘speculate’ as to whether this was terrorism, but that if it was, certainly there are a lot of domestic terrorist groups like white supremacists and/or the Aryan Brotherhood. Not helpful. 12 minutes later, former California Congresswoman Jane Harman said, while video streamed of the two different blasts, seconds apart, a block apart, we don’t know as of yet whether this was terrorism. Also not helpful.

If there were an award for Most Constructive Shaming of the News Media, the clear winner would be Kirsten Powers, the brave Fox News pundit and Daily Beast columnist. Last Thursday, she called out the mainstream media for failing to adequately report on the ongoing trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist who is charged with murdering seven newborn infants and a patient seeking an abortion. Powers’s USA Today piece provoked an instant response from many sheepish journalists. Megan McArdle of the Daily Beast acknowledged she “should have” written about the “horror Doc’s” clinic.

My Times colleague Mark Mazzetti has a new book out that is getting a lot of attention, including some cinematic excerpts published in The Times, here and here. “The Way of the Knife” recounts the recent transformation of the Central Intelligence Agency from a traditional spying shop into more of a man-hunting paramilitary — custodian of lethal drones, sponsor of dark ops, employer of secret armies and shady contractors. As a rule, I avoid the weekly news magazines. They are filled with bad fiction disguised as “reporting,” and if I really feel the need to read mediocre prose I can always rely on the work of America’s growing horde of creative-writing professors. Nonetheless, I recently stumbled across a post in Time’s Swampland blog titled, “Obamacare Incompetence,” and succumbed to morbid curiosity. It seems that Joe Klein, a usually reliable Democrat hack, is deeply unhappy with the slow and clumsy implementation of the “Affordable Care Act.” Klein’s post focuses primarily on the implosion of Obamacare’s exchanges.

In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
