| A Bangladeshi national has been arrested for plotting to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Lower Manhattan, the Daily News has learned. Authorities say 21-year-old Quazi Nafis was arrested Wednesday morning after a sting operation that involved the FBI and New York Police Department. The suspect parked a van filled with what he believed were explosives outside the building and tried to detonate it. But his associates were actually undercover officers who arrested him at the scene — and the bomb was not real. The bust was the result of a sting operation conducted by the FBI-NYPD joint

#3, I thought of the same movie when this story came out. One thing that John McClane knew was that if something happens, it might be a distraction to hide something else. This was foiled, but maybe it was going to distract from something else?

CNN national security analyst Peter Bergen told host Jake Tapper on Monday that the explosions in Boston could be the work of Al Qaeda terrorists as much as they could be part of a planned assault by “right-wing extremists.” Bergen said he was reminded of the Oklahoma City bombing, and that terrorism on the right could not be ruled out.
