Republicans Seize on Bankruptcy of
Battery Maker That Received
$249M in Federal Loan Guarantees

ABC News, by Devin Dwyer

Original Article

Posted By:Photoonist, 10/17/2012 3:08:48 PM

The bankruptcy filing Tuesday of an electric car battery maker that received $249 million in federal loan guarantees and that President Obama had touted as a poster child for green-energy jobs has given fresh fodder to Republicans and presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who have attacked Obama’s green-energy initiatives as a waste of taxpayer funds, yielding few new jobs. (Snip) As recently as July 2011 Obama touted the company as evidence his plan for a green-energy economy was taking hold. “Here’s A123, a clean-energy manufacturer in Michigan that just hired its 1,000th worker as demand has soared for its vehicle components,”

Comments:
"Seize on it"? The information of another 0bama failure was right out there and obvious. So why haven't news organizations like ABC "seized on it" as something important instead of having to report that Republicans are talking about it? Anything to protect 0bama's scrawny butt and if Romney or other Republicans talk about it, it's just political.

GOP needs to create an ad that contrasts these wasteful failures against the faces of Americans without jobs, looking for jobs, and those who have given up looking for jobs.

Isn't calling them the poster child for green-energy sort of like seizing on how great Obama is for wasting 249 million tax payer bucks, which stop where? Used to stop at the President's desk? Obama is the poster child for green-energy, failures all, birds of a feather.

I believe that I have seen several such uses of the word "seized" by the MSM over the last few months, when reporting about some issue or other that Republicans have pointed out or talked about, with no similar use of the word "seized"--with its implications of illicit predation-when talking about the issues that Democrats have brought up against Republicans.

Right up there with the MSM's use of the word "unexpected" used to characterize evry new report about our declining employment, budget, and economic situations.

1. Same old role being played.

2. Ever more utter ignorance, also. The Left doesn't know what any words really mean [ah, yes -- "When I use a word, it means exactly what I mean it to mean, no more and no less." -- Humpty Dumpty]. They can't [won't] distinguish sex and gender. Turn a person holding a parliamentary office [chairman] into furniture [chair]. Lie about spending by calling it investment. Now the worshipped Goddess of Green Energy has them claiming batteries are a source of energy. Well, they're not, no more than a glass is a source of water. Yet these Universal Morons [wrong about anything, everything, always] giddily go to setting national energy policies of which their errors are the foundations! I'd bet a Victoria's Filet some of you can hear me screaming all the way from here.

How cynical of those mean old Republicans to "seize on" the bankruptcy of one of Obama's crack-brained "green energy" companies that lost a mere quarter-billion of our dollars during a severe recession!!

Hasn't anyone at ABC News noticed that a presidential election will take place in less than three weeks?

I suppose we're all supposed to be nice, quiet little "low-information voters" while our betters in Washington take care of everything on our behalf. Trouble is, we don't want that. We want our country back.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

CNN’s Peter Hamby reported that Mitt Romney‘s internal polling showed President Obama leading in Ohio by five percentage points.Per Hamby’s post: The number represented a sharp final bump for Obama in Ohio, a race that had essentially been a tied race through much of the previous week, according to the campaign’s daily tracking. The polling, which also showed a tight race in Pennsylvania, explains why Romney officials decided to send their candidate on last-minute Election Day visits to Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

Washington - Early returns on Tuesday in what is anticipated to be a dead even presidential election contained no surprises, as CNN projected President Barack Obama will win his home state of Illinois and eight other races while Republican challenger Mitt Romney will win nine states. All races called so far went as expected after the roller-coaster ride of an election campaign that was buffeted by a superstorm and missteps on both sides. Obama and Romney ran dead even in final polls that hinted at a result rivaling some of the closest presidential elections in history, reflecting the deep political

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

Mitt Romney is leading among independents in both Ohio and Virginia, early exit polls show. In Ohio, the former Massachusetts governor takes 56 percent of self-identified independents, compared with 40 percent for President Barack Obama. That’s a huge decrease for Obama from 2008, when the exit polls found him winning independents in Ohio by 12 points, 52 percent to 44 percent for John McCain. The numbers are similar but slightly tighter in Virginia: Romney takes 53 percent of independents there, according to ABC News exit polls, a 12-point lead over Obama. In 2008, Obama won independents in the state by

Early exit polls show Election Day voters are slightly more Republican than in 2008 and broadly concerned about the state of the U.S. economy. Six in 10 voters said the economy is their top issue according to the poll, which was released by The Associated Press and conducted on behalf of a consortium of media companies. Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
