| Let's face it, how can you improve on perfection? And make no mistake, Romney's shellacking of Barack the King in the first debate was perfection. Obama minions in the press couldn't spin abysmal failure -- maybe that would have been possible for moderate failure, but with the spectacularly horrible performance the President turned in on October 3rd, it was impossible. In the end, almost the only person in America who thought Obama won was Barack Obama -- and that in itself says a lot.(snip) The questions in this debate were different -- pay equity, gun control

The stories are all over the place about last night's debate. It's the non-stories coming up today that are priceless. For example, there's the "Walmart women shopper poll" (sample size of 10) that said Obama won the debate, or the article posted above about how reporters applauded the "slam" about Romney being rich.
Really? That's all they've got? I think they've run out of things to throw -- and the kitchen sink was thrown a long time ago and missed.

Well, I don't think any Romney voters are going to be persuaded to vote for 0bama after this debate, and vice versa.
Rush Limbaugh also has made a good point today as well, which is that just because Romney may not have corrected all of 0bama's lies, that does not equate to 0bama winning the debate, nor does it mean that we don't see through the lies anyway (e.g., Libya). "Lying in a debate is a negative. That's why there's always a fury of fact-checking afterwards."

Pretty good analysis. Lots of people were saying last night that Obama won on points, but I didn't see it that way. Romney seemed eager to answer people's questons; Obama seemed eager to attack Romney. In fact, when Romney questioned him directly about numbers, Obama couldn't deliver. Obama seemed bo be getting more defensive, frustrated and angry as the night went on. By the end I was a little concerned that he might pop a blood vessel. Thankfully for Obama, Crowley decided to become his teleprompter, handing him two or three talking points in the last 30 minutes.

President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out. As it turns out, the empty seats didn’t look exactly “scattered.” They looked like substantial portions of the upper bowl of the arena, according to photos tweeted by those in attendance:

Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday struggled to draw 1,000 people at two campaign events in Colorado, one of the most important swing states this election. Republicans in Colorado have said they have not seen this much enthusiasm for the top of a Republican ticket in a decade, which is a contrast from Democrats, who are seeing a diminished level of enthusiasm from 2008. The Illinois Republican party claims early and absentee voting has precipitously fallen since the 2008 presidential election. According to the numbers, at this point in 2008, there were 260,376 early voters and 304,290 absentee voters. Now, the party maintains, there are 195,064 early voters and 46,232 absentee voters.
