Obama wins the second debate. Too bad it’s not the one that mattered

| When the evening began, one observation dominated the conversation: “If President Barack Obama has another debate like the last one, the election’s over.” When the evening ended, I was struck by a different thought: If Obama had performed this way at the first debate, the election would have been over. In every debate, whatever the format, whatever the questions, there is one and only one way to identify the winner: Who commands the room? Who drives the narrative? Who is in charge? More often than not on Tuesday night, I think, Obama had the better of it.

Comments: Too bad for whom? Nothing like a headline that says ''We are for Obama!!''

Yahoo News. Enough said.
Jeff tries to paint Obama as a win.
Unfortunately, the Prez mock outrage about questioning Libya is lame, stale and totally from the Dem playbook.
Obama waging his finger at us is a great reminder of Pres Clinton and Monica.
It did not work then and does not work now. Plus add a dead CIA agent now.

Why are we posting Yahoo, it's not a news source.
Yahoo is a search engine that is advertisement driven.
Their so called news is an editorial blog.

Tried to "vote" on the CNN poll right after the debate, vote count for O was increasing and showing 100% for him. Tried four times and the vote for Romney stayed at 0% while O's kept going up. Finally on the fifth try it registered and votes for Romney started showing. So it looks like they gave O a huge head start.

Obama was flailing wildly and if you count the number of blows struck, as in a prize fiht, he probably had the edge. He was, however, spouting gibberish and nonsense.

I didn't realize that debated could be won by lying, having the moderator lie for you and by getting extra time. This bastid ALWAYS needs people to change his diapers and wiping his chin!! He cannot stand on his own, ever! He actually CALLED on Crowley to lie for him, to repeat his lies, and she did...amazing!!! The socialist left can go to HADES!

He didn't win and he had huge assists from the moderator. What scares me is that he has a foreign policy debate coming up and he clearly doesn't want to talk about that.
What's he going to do to get out of it?

Greenfield, what a maroon. Sure, Obama won if all he had to do was show up and talk AND the listener believe everything he said. Most of his important replies were lies. The rest were boilerplate garbage.
Why is there, in American politics, such a large capacity to believe and forgive Democrat perfidity?

It's funny.. it almost feels to me like Obama won, too.. if only because he didn't receive the knock-out punches he should have. And I still don't understand why Mitt didn't explicitly confront him with the fact that after the embassy murders the administration had immediately started disseminating the red herring that it was because of the video. Am I missing something?
However. I do think though that the more the nation sees of these two together, the more they will turn to Mitt and/or away from Bams. Even the libs must be weary of the S whistles and the unfeeling cadence of his speech, whereas Mitt comes off definitely more likeable, wonderful and even visionary. Not to mention Bams' evasiveness.

Folks, there are two distinct things under discussion here, and they are different: Who won the debate, and who actually deserved to win the debate. Mitt Romney was disciplined, factual, and effective. Barack Obama was dishonest, facile, and evasive. Mitt deserved to win. However, he was working against a biased room, slanted questions, and the Immoderator, Candy Crowley. Under those circumstances, it would have been virtually impossible for Mitt to score a clean victory, and he didn't.
#4 and #15 get it exactly right: Obama won this round narrowly on points, but Romney is neither down nor out. My guess is Romney won the post-debate coverage and may be on track to win this election.

The US defence department has delayed an intercontinental ballistic missile test that had been planned for next week at an air force base in California amid mounting tensions with North Korea, according to a senior official. Defence secretary Chuck Hagel reportedly decided to put off the long-planned Minuteman 3 test until next month because of concerns the launch could be misinterpreted and exacerbate the Korean crisis. "This is the logical, prudent and responsible course of action to take," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The test was not connected to the ongoing annual

BOISE, Idaho — Authorities in eastern Idaho are investigating the shooting deaths of two men and a woman whose bodies were found in a home that contained a marijuana grow operation. The deaths took place sometime between Thursday afternoon and evening by someone who had some type of relationship with the victims, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said. The bodies were discovered Friday outside Holbrook, a town of about 400 people just north of the Idaho-Utah state line. Authorities said a 2-month-old was found under the arm of one of the victims — 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter.

LOS ANGELES — The role of female talk show hosts in late-night TV network history, all 50-plus years of it, can be summed up in two words: Joan Rivers. It takes just another two — Arsenio Hall — to do the same for minorities. There´s no indication that´s going to change in the latest round of musical chairs involving "Tonight" and "Late Night." All the NBC, ABC and CBS showcase jobs at 11:30 p.m. Eastern and later appear likely to remain securely in white men´s hands. Jay Leno is handing off to Jimmy Fallon, with speculation

Young supporters hold signs outside Hillary Rodham Clinton´s speeches urging her to run for president. Audiences listen with rapt attention as she discusses the plight of women and girls in developing countries. Even a long-expected book deal announcement generates lots of chatter. Not long after Clinton stepped down as President Barack Obama´s secretary of state, the "will she or won´t she" question is already following her around like the activists who held dark blue "Ready for Hillary" signs outside speeches at the Kennedy Center in Washington and New York´s Lincoln Center. This past week, Clinton came off a two-month break

NEW YORK -- In case Americans want to scarf down their fast-food even faster, KFC is stripping the bones out of its chicken. The fast-food chain says it´s introducing deep-fried boneless chicken pieces on April 14 as an alternative to its traditional breast, thigh and drumstick pieces. The new offering reflects the growing popularity of nuggets and strips that are easier to eat on the go, as well as Americans´ seemingly endless desire for more convenient foods. KFC says nearly four out of five servings of chicken sold in the U.S. are now boneless. Based on customer trends

Climate change is expanding sea ice in Antarctica, a paradoxical finding that appears to be the result of melting glaciers, according to a new study. As freshwater glaciers melt, cold water sinks into the ocean, keeping the sea colder than it would otherwise be. The fresh water is less dense than seawater, so it floats on the top layer of the ocean, which in turn stays cooler. That makes it easier for the seas to freeze again in the Antarctic fall and winter, scientists say. This negative feedback is expected to continue, they added. Sea ice levels

A Rhode Island couple says they were speechless and moved to tears when Pope Francis hugged and kissed their disabled 8-year-old son in St. Peter´s Square on Easter Sunday. Paul and Christina Gondreau of Johnston and their five children attended Easter Mass at the Vatican. An usher directed the boy, Dominic, who has cerebral palsy, and his mother to an area designated for handicapped children, said Paul Gondreau, a theology professor at Providence College who is teaching this semester in Rome. No more war and Peeps, please. Some people (Peeple?) find it amusing to torment or mutilate Peeps, the sugarcoated fluorescent marshmallow Easter candies in the form of chicks and bunnies (or additional shapes during other holidays). Consider, for example, the sport of Peeps jousting, in which someone places two Peeps chicks (the bunnies don’t work for this game) in a microwave with toothpicks in their chests. As the Peeps heat up, they expand and appear to be jousting with each other. The candy that stabs the other first wins. Both Peeps end up as gooey globs.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving."
