Crowley: Obama Took 17 Days to Claim Benghazi Was Terror Attack

| On CNN's "State of the Union" on September 30, Candy Crowley asked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) why he thought it took the administration 17 days after the Benghazi attacks to give a "sort of definitive statement" that terrorists orchestrated the attacks. While moderating Tuesday's debate, Crowley forgot the timeline and facts she commanded two weeks earlier, and she inexplicably took President Obama's side when Obama and Romney were arguing about whether Obama referred to the Libya attacks as acts of terror on the day after. Romney correctly said Obama did not

The unintended consequence of Crowley's stained-blue-dress-moment is that the obama administration's Benghazi cover up is back on the radar, where it will remain.
obama and his cheerleaders are so short-sighted. They may have won a skirmish on optics, but they will lose the war as a result.

She outed herself as pro-Obama. Confirmed it to anyone who had any doubt, or who was pooh-poohing her supposed bias going into the debate.
The commission itself is left-wing. It is time for Republican candidates to take a good long look at this commission and its debates and decide if they should continue.
Now that I have written that I can take the opposing view and say that Debate #1 brought Mitt Romney a windfall. He gave the performance of a lifetime and Obie, cards all stacked in his favor, flunked bigtime. Last night Obie "came off the mat", as someone said, but as a nasty disagreeable person spouting the same old talking points he and his minions have been spouting for four years.
So... maybe the good guys win in spite of the rigged commission and its biased moderators?

Crowley's serious mistake - her facts and her intervention on Obie's behalf - will be haunting her. And Obie, as this will keep Benghazigate and his failure to call it terror going for some time. Those who said he called Benghazi a terrorist attack will have to look long and hard for those words in his Rose Garden statement - and in every other statement he and his minions and messengers made from then through his appearance before the General Assembly of the UN two weeks later.
Nice work, Candy.

That entire exchange did nothing to help Obama because in the end he is basically arguing that he called the murder of 4 Americans an act of terror on day 2 instead of day 14, 15, 16 or 17? Really, this is what Obama believes makes someone presidential - word timing?
Sickens me to look at the photos of the coffins after they arrived at the airfield with armed guards standing next to them. No additional security after repeated requests, after repeated terror attacks in Benghazi Libya and the fact that the 9/11 anniversary was right around the corner. But dead bodies sitting on true American soil deserve only the best protection.
I think Obama is doomed. Can't wait to see the new polls. All he did was call Romney a liar last night and lied about everything he's done and not done. His idiot base will always love him, the rest despise him.

If we take all of this exchange (and subsequent follow-up by the spin doctors), Obama first implied Benghazi was a terror attack, but then shifted to arguing - for an extended period of days - that it was not a coordinated terror attack.
Oh, now that's impressive -- when one's reasoning leads one AWAY from the truth into an obstinate insistance on erroneous conclusions?
Kerry gave us the gem that he was for the war before he was against it. Now Obama was right on Benghazi before he changed his mind. Not sure which is more laughable.

Crowley, ultimately, gave a gift to Mitt - the return of the spotlight on Benghazigate. With only 6 days left before the debate on foreign policy, there's not much time for the administration to turn this thing around to O's advantage. But I don't put anything past them. Watch for more news stories on increased drones over Libya, military at the ready, etc. etc. They are desperate and they should be.

WASHINGTON— As President Barack Obama pushes an ambitious agenda to liberalize global trading, political trade wars already are forming, and they´re with fellow Democrats rather than with Republicans, his usual antagonists. Obama is promoting free-trade proposals with Europe and Asia that could affect up to two-thirds of all global trade. The ambitious deals would reduce or eliminate tariffs and other trade barriers. But there´s trouble ahead for both the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership — at the negotiating table and from Congress. Before an adoring crowd of religious conservatives, Sarah Palin mocked recent scandals swirling around the Obama administration, performing her own version of a Saturday Night Live parody. “They have this skit where they do this fake newscast, and they read this completely absurd news report and finish it with an incredulous ‘Really?’’” Palin told the audience Saturday afternoon at a meeting of the Faith and Freedom Coalition. “As in, our government spied on every single one of your phone calls but it couldn’t find two pot -smoking deadbeat Bostonians with a hotline to terrorist central in Chechnya.”

According to Public Policy Polling, 32 percent of those surveyed wanted the Spurs to win the Finals while 20 percent selected the Heat. The polling came as part of a larger poll dealing with other political issues of the day. PPP broke the numbers down further and found that among voters who supported Barack Obama, the Spurs were favored by a 28-25 percent margin,

"I´ve learned a little bit about humility particularly on national television," he quipped to laughter at the Faith and Freedom Coalition´s annual conference, which is one of the largest gatherings of social conservatives. A few lines later in his faith-themed speech, Perry noted a critique of "St. Peter, whose mouth sometimes ran faster than his brain. Let me tell you, I can relate to Peter."

In the midst of the eruption of near-daily scandals involving the Obama administration, let us not forget that until just a few months ago, Hillary Clinton was the most significant persona within that administration besides the president himself. Let us not also forget that notwithstanding the scandal-grenades going off all around us, Mrs. Clinton diligently plans her run for the presidency, even while several of those scandals are obviously and entirely her responsibility, exposing the State Department during her tenure as an utter sewer of corruption, cronyism, and fatal incompetence.

Over the years, I’ve read plenty of claims that we’re witnessing a “crackup” of liberals or conservatives (or sometimes both at the same time). Normally, I react by rolling my eyes. For me, “crackup” claims are a almost always hack way of expressing unjustified triumphalism. But now I think I see a crackup. Given the scandal-a-week Obama administration, you might think that the crackup, if any, is looming on the left. But that would be to ignore the left’s tendency to march more or less in lockstep through any scandal or storm. No, the crackup I see coming is among conservatives.
