Candy Crowley’s signature moment as moderator of Tuesday’s rough-and-tumble presidential debate came when she was called upon to referee a dispute over President Barack Obama’s description of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya as an act of terror. When Republican Mitt Romney questioned whether the president had done so, Crowley said, “He did, in fact, sir.”“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” Obama said, as the debate’s audience broke into applause. Please post according to site style.

Comments: She was a terrible "moderator".

This may help Romney. Crowley's error will keep this topic bubbling until Monday, and the foreign policy debate.

All Romney had to do was reinforce the image that he's presidential material and he did that.Obama put Crowley on the hot seat and nobody wants to think about that.

I read the transcript. I believe both Obama and Crowley lied. He did not say the attackers were terrorists. Never! It took a couple of weeks for that to happen.

Crow-ly was not called upon to referee.
She chose to speak on O's behalf.
After all, she chose the question in advance and had her answer ready.

That is what happens when the moderator is in the tank for Obama. Her remarks and leniency toward Obama has shown her true colors. She is a MSM person, and they are all in for Obama. Did I hear someone say "Journalist"?

The AP tries again and fails with its propaganda. Crowley was not "called upon", she butted in (pun intended),interjecting personal feelings in a debate where she had no right to be.

This reminded me of professional wrestling when the champ has to face two wrestlers at the same time. The champ usually wins those matches as well.

"this is president elect romney. i'm sure you'd like your network to have an exclusive interview with me. and you'd probably like to know what you need to do to get it. here's what you need to do: bring me candy crowley's obituary and you'll get your interview"

The deck was clearly stacked in Zippy's favor. Not only did they have a "Moderator" who just a couple of weeks before refer to the Romney, Ryan ticket as a "Death Sentence", they also picked the "Random" audience members and their questions. I live just a couple of miles from Hofstra University. It is a liberal arts college and I use the word "liberal" in it's truest and most literal sense. Crowley lied about the Bengazi comment and failed to correct her lie when caught. Instead she gave the "OOPS" defense. She let Zippy ramble on after the clock had run out for him but cut off Romney every single time. I had to up my blood pressure medication after watching last night. Clearly Romney was debating two people at once.

Crowley was not "called upon" to referee a dispute. Two intelligent men were debating a topic and she interjected an untrue statement and tried to force Governor Romney to accept it as fact when Romneys statement was the one which was correct. Nobody except Candy Crowley was interested in her opinion.

I would love to watch Candy Crowley teach her children about Honesty, Ethics and Integrity, then watch her children laugh at her and spit in her face.
She proved two things last night. 1, she is definitely a two faced lying Marxist, and an avowed Obama Hindlicker.
Her mother must be so proud.

I expected her to be much worse than she actually was. I knew this debate was set up for Obama's advantage and I thought all Romney had to do was remain standing. And he did that very well. I was impressed.
Of course, we saw a snarling, nasty Obama, but that's the way he always seems to me.

Obama's foreign policy is such a disaster, I'm concerned about what he might do to get out of doing this next debate. I mean, Shieffer's going to be in the tank, for certain, but is he going to want to go as far as Crowley? She's taking some heat about it, and it will only get worse as it's shown she even admitted Romney was correct in what she dishonestly corrected him on.
So ... Obama doesn't want to talk about it. What would make the whole thing disappear? What would make him too busy for the song and dance?

Crowley damaged herself with her dreadful performance on Obama's behalf. The punditocracy, right and left, think we are so stupid. All of us see this kind of "you get my back, I'll get yours"", all the time in our workplaces and daily lives. The bonus for us is she's being fact checked, found to be lying, and that keeps the truth in front of the public for at least a day or two.

Consider it an opportunity overlooked. It´s surprising that Jose Pedro Simoes Ferreira´s name didn´t surface during John Kerry´s confirmation hearings for Secretary of State. Mr. Ferreira, 78, is the older brother of Mr. Kerry´s wife, Fox Chapel ketchup heiress Teresa Heinz. Ferreira also is a former Portuguese naval officer linked to leftist Portuguese politics and reportedly backed a 1974 coup against Portuguese Prime Minister Marcello Caetano. According to Allegheny County voter registration records, Ferreira lives in a four-bedroom, 3½ bathroom $628,000 home on Squaw Run Road in Fox Chapel on property adjacent to the sprawling 87-acre Heinz estate. Just one hour after the seven-hour-long terrorist attacks upon the U.S. consulate in Benghazi began, our commander-in-chief, vice president, secretary of defense and their national security team gathered together in the Oval Office listening to phone calls from American defenders desperately under siege and watching real-time video of developments from a drone circling over the site. Yet they sent no military aid that might have intervened in time to save lives. Why? The attack began on September 11, at about 10:00 p.m. Libyan time (4:00 p.m. in Washington). Just how badly did CNN's Candy Crowley destroy her first (and hopefully last) attempt as a presidential debate moderator? More than 65 million people saw that she is to debate moderation as CNN is to "news." Barack Obama made a fatal mistake when he lied, claiming he'd labeled the Libya attack as an act of terrorism. The look on Romney's face said it all: Mr. President, here comes checkmate.

Conservative critics have launched an attack on CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, who moderated Tuesday's second presidential debate, after she corrected former Gov. Mitt Romney's claim that President Barack Obama did not refer to the consulate attack in Benghazi as an "act of terror." Obama said in the debate that on September 12, he called the attack in Libya that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, an "act of terror."

Maine Democrat Cynthia Dill is rare among her fellow Democratic candidates in that her run for Senate is entirely independent of the national party. But that’s not by choice. Dill hasn’t received the endorsement of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and she doesn’t have the financial or technical backing of the party. Though DSCC chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) has said Democrats would be monitoring the race, they’ve offered no indication that they’ll be investing funds in Dill’s bid,

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

More than six months since Ambassador Christopher Stevens was assassinated by terrorists in Benghazi, the Obama administration is still trying to keep a lid on information about the attack. Congress and the American people need to know what happened the night of Sept. 11, 2012. Who did the killing and what was their motive? Why wasn´t help sent? And why did the administration lie about who was responsible? Members of Congress have asked hundreds of questions at hearings conducted by several investigative committees, but many of the most significant have been left unanswered. Information detailing what happened before, during and Headline corrected.
