| I compared the first presidential debate to the Battle of Little Big Horn. This second presidential debate seemed to me like one of those Civil War battles—I’m not enough of a Civil War buff to say which one—in which both armies battered each other but neither came out a clear victor and the war went on. This strikes me as one of those presidential debates, like most presidential debates, in which most Democratic voters believe the Democratic candidate won and most Republican voters believe the Republican candidate won. In the debate I saw, Obama was a disaster. Lying, stumbling, uninterested in the question because he knew he would have to dissemble and was getting bored with the necessity. And Romney kept asking him to repeat those lies -- for the record.

I don't understand all the editorials, even from conservatives, that said Obama won the debate. I saw a slouched, very, very angry man, and thought he stumbled through most of his answers. He interrupted not only Romney but the moderator on more than one occasion. I found Romney to be even better than at the first debate and we were both cheering. Did I miss something?

Whatever, BHO is a blatant liar and any glance at the facts proves it every time. Meanwhile the funny part is what every guy saw which is a punk trying to physically intimidate a stronger opponent and failing. You don't puff up and then scurry back to your chair, you stand your ground, but since I seriously doubt that BHO every experienced a one on one fist fight, I understand the confusion. His communist preparers must have been disappointed when Mitt didn't react with some kind of physically submissive move.

Texas authorities are expanding the focus of an ongoing investigation into the murders of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia in March and Mark Hasse, a prosecutor in McLelland´s office who was fatally shot two months earlier. On Friday, CBS News learned authorities executed a search warrant at the home of former Kaufman County justice of the peace Eric Williams. Williams was prosecuted and convicted of theft last year by the district attorney´s office and lost his position and license to practice law. Williams has denied any role in the murders.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
