NHPR producer: Hassan edit a mistake
Union Leader [Manchester, NH], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:nhchemist, 10/16/2012 6:58:10 PM

An executive producer at New Hampshire Public Radio said Monday he made a mistake by editing the word “tax” out of a key answer given by Democrat Maggie Hassan during a September debate in a recent partial rebroadcast. Hassan supported RGGI, saying, “I was proud to be a sponsor of that tax — eh — the energy efficiency program because it has saved businesses millions and millions of dollars and created over 400 jobs.”

Comments:
This was on American Thinker yesterday. Now NHPR says they were wrong to support their preferred Democrat candidate in such a blatant fashion. Apparently a tax is not taking your money under penalty of law unless the Democrat says it is.

Wonder how many times NHPR or any public broadcasting company -- heck, any RAT infested media -- ever edited out a politically unpopular word by a Republican?

My bet on the over/under is Zero.

I emailed the Programming Department at NHPR yesterday, and this is one of the comments in the reply I received: "NHPR has not nor would ever edit the comments of a candidate made during a debate."

It looks like she "misspoke".....

When they do this selective editing it's so weird that they always make their mistakes in favor of liberals.

I wonder how in the world that just happens..... all the time.

NASHUA -- Thomas Pappas, chairman of the Nashua Police Commission, voluntarily resigned from his position on Wednesday, about three weeks after his involvement in state Rep. David Campbell´s duck killing incident was revealed. "He regrets greatly his role and the events of Dec. 23," Attorney Jim Rosenberg said of Pappas. "He is deeply saddened by the fact that he is resigning his post now." Campbell called Pappas after he had a couple of drinks and ultimately ran over several mallard ducks with his BMW, killing five of them on Dec. 23 outside of the Crowne Plaza.

NASHUA — Two city officials say Police Commissioner Thomas Pappas should resign because of his involvement with state Rep. David Campbell and an accident in which the lawmaker ran over and killed five ducks. "Commissioner Pappas should resign, but does not seem inclined to do so," said Alderman Ken Siegel, Ward 9. "... Now, we can only sit idly by and hope that the governor puts ethics ahead of politics." Members of Nashua´s police commission are appointed by the governor.

CONCORD — Touting the privacy rights of New Hampshire citizens, House members Wednesday voted overwhelmingly — 250-97 — to kill a bill that would have allowed police to use license plate scanners, and then banned the issue for the rest of the session. With the House vote, New Hampshire continues to be the only state in the country to prohibit the use of license plate scanners. Collecting license plate information at toll booths and bridges is allowed. Recording license plate data is the same as Big Brother watching citizens in George Orwell´s novel "1984" opponents said — or at least

The Obama administration’s unquenchable ambition to replace Americans’ own choices with those made by bureaucrats in Washington has taken yet another stupid turn, it appears. Either that, or the federal school lunch policy is so confusing that city officials cannot figure out how to serve milk. Students must take a meal at school even if they only want a carton of milk, according to federal regulations presented at the Board of School Committee meeting Monday. Mayor Ted Gatsas and other school board members reacted with dismay to the rules, which they say have contributed to waste when students, some of whom bring lunches from home and only want milk, toss the school-provided fare in the trash. “We’re not able to offer the free milk-only option,” Superintendent Debra Livingston told the board. “In order to have the free meal, the students are required to choose the required

Here is how New Hampshire’s so-called “health insurance exchange” under Obamacare will work when it comes online Jan. 1. Granite Staters who need health insurance and have not found it through an employer or the actual marketplace will come to this government-created “market,” where a grand total of one insurer will offer plans. Every one of the plans offered by the single participating insurance company will have to provide government-mandated minimum coverage that starts at $498.79 a month. This is “choice” under Obamacare.

The decision by gun manufacturer Sturm, Ruger to build new facilities in North Carolina and not New Hampshire has resurrected the old debate over whether right-to-work laws harm a state’s economy and quality of life. As the top labor leaders of two states with very different experiences with right-to-work, we maintain that right-to-work is not a viable strategy for economic growth. In North Carolina, which has had a right-to-work for less law since 1947, it has encouraged the development of a low-wage economy and institutionalized poverty and an environment that puts corporate profits

House committees are still digging into the IRS political targeting scandal, and based on a hearing Wednesday there´s more to learn. The day produced more evidence blowing apart President Obama´s claims that there was "not even a smidgen of corruption" or political motivation in the IRS handling of groups applying for tax-exempt status. Mr. Obama wants Americans to believe that the targeting resulted from the confusing tax law governing nonprofits, which he says was "difficult" to interpret and resulted in mere "bureaucratic" mistakes. The White House and congressional Democrats tried to limit the fallout Wednesday from the politically damaging conclusion in a Congressional Budget Office report that the Obamacare entitlement creates a major incentive for some people not to work. While some critics focused on a finding by the CBO that Obamacare will result in 2.5 million fewer workers over a decade, conservatives said the bigger fundamental issue highlighted in the report is one familiar to the welfare state — that taxpayer-funded government subsidies provide disincentives for full-time work. “People used to be stuck in jobs because they needed the health insurance,” said

One of the best arguments for health-insurance reform is that our traditional employer-based system often locked people into jobs they wanted to leave but couldn´t because they feared they wouldn´t be able to get affordable coverage elsewhere. This worry was pronounced for people with pre-existing conditions but not limited to them. Consider families with young children in which one of the parents would like to get out of the formal labor market for a while to take care of the kids. In the old system, the choices of such couples were constrained if only one of the two received employer-provided family
