French business erupts in fury
against "disastrous" François Hollande

Telegraph [UK], by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Original Article

Posted By:Maryland_Patriot, 10/16/2012 5:17:12 PM

“The situation is very serious. Some business leaders are in a state of quasi-panic,” said Laurence Parisot, head of employers’ group MEDEF. “The pace of bankruptcies has accelerated over the summer. We are seeing a general loss of confidence by investors. Large foreign investors are shunning France altogether. It’s becoming really dramatic.” MEDEF, France’s equivalent of the CBI, said the threat has risen from “a storm warning to a hurricane warning”, adding that the Socialist government of François Hollande has yet to understand the “extreme gravity” of the crisis.

lets see, Spain elects a socialist government in '08, same time Obama's elected. Spain is now broke. The socialist Hollande is recently elected in France, he raises taxes through the roof, and the country is in worse condition. Greece has always had an affection for socialist policy, and it's in deep dodo. Do we detect a pattern here?

Phoenix -- Authorities are investigating what was reported to be an explosive device addressed to Arizona´s Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff in America" known for his strict treatment of jail inmates and cracking down on illegal immigration. The device intercepted in Flagstaff late Thursday was in a package addressed to Arpaio at his downtown Phoenix office, the Maricopa County Sheriff´s Office said in a statement. It appeared suspicious, so it was X-rayed and the device was detected. A bomb squad team neutralized the explosive, the statement said.

Someone ought to pull aside some of television’s talking heads and magpies of the left and explain how babies are made. They’re very, very upset that Mitch McConnell, the senator from Kentucky who is the leader of the Republicans in the U.S. Senate, is openly practicing politics, like an actress coming out of the closet as a thespian, or a shopkeeper shamelessly committing nepotism with his daughter. This is so far mostly of interest to a small but noisy conventicle of magpies, perched on telephone wires in Washington and Manhattan,

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Wednesday questioned how the Republican Party lost the black vote after a century with the GOP - from the Civil War to the civil rights movement - during a speech at the historically black college of Howard University in Washington, D.C. “How did the party that elected the first black U.S. senator, the party that elected the first 20 African-American congressmen, how did that party become a party that now loses 95 percent of the black vote?” Paul asked.

Rand Paul shouted from an elevator Wednesday afternoon, answering MailOnline´s question about whether his foray into winning the hearts and minds of black youths was successful. Paul, a Republican darling who is already laying the groundwork for a 2016 presidential run with a coming appearance in New Hampshire, had just wrapped up a two-hour appearance at the Howard University School of Business. Howard is among the U.S. colleges classified as ´historically black,´ and the audience of approximately 300 included few white faces apart from those belonging to reporters.

Why is a conservative group

President Obama´s budget this week proposed $50 billion in new infrastructure funding. Joining Obama in this fight for more federal infrastructure money will be the American Conservative Union, likely funded by the government contractors who pocket those highway tax dollars. Republicans have always been unreliable on reducing federal spending. GOP politicians will crow about bloated budgets and dangerous deficits but then load spending bills with parochial pork. Republican talk of spending cuts almost always leaves the defense budget sacrosanct, with highway spending also receiving special treatment. The Tea Party revolt has blamed this GOP inconsistency for Washington´s budgetary incontinence.

President Obama has made a big show of the fact that his fiscal year 2014 budget supposedly cuts the debt by $1.8 trillion and cuts Social Security by adopting a new way of measuring inflation. Unfortunately, according to the Congressional Budget Office, Obama’s debt savings are only half what he claims and are achieved entirely through tax hikes. Worse his supposed Social Security cut actually raises taxes on middle class families. Here are the facts: According to Obama’s own numbers, his budget would leave the American people with a $19.03 trillion debt burden by 2023.

The National Rifle Association, which had disappointed Senate gun control foes for being slow to condemn the Toomey-Manchin background check compromise, late Wednesday stepped up their attack on the deal, threatening to include the measure on their powerful report card used to grade lawmakers. Several hours after gun control fans heralded the NRA´s initial reaction to the compromise as a "positive development," the organization´s chief lobbyist, Chris Cox, issued a letter to senators warning against voting to allow debate on the gun control legislation to continue.

Politico has an interesting story out today about Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Penn., headlined, “NRA Ally Pat Toomey Pivots on Gun Control Efforts” in the print edition and “NRA Ally Pat Toomey’s Gun Control Moment” online. The story details how the senator, who is up for re-election in 2016, is co-sponsoring compromise gun control legislation with Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. He is trying to ensure that he has a moderate image in his purplish battleground state. The story notes: Toomey’s alliance with Manchin this week is just the latest example of his willingness to work with Democrats.

GreenTech Automotive paid its taxes earlier this week, plus nearly $500 in late fees, after The Washington Examiner made an inquiry to officials in Tunica County, Mississippi, about the company´s status. That inquiry led to discussions between company executives and county officials, and an agreement that the taxes would be paid. Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

Few Americans can not answer this question: who is the worst domestic mass murderer in United States’ history? Due to the United States media, most are aware that Timothy McVeigh slaughtered 168 people with a bomb in 1995. Most Americans also know the names of our three most monstrous serial killers: “The Green River Killer” Gary Ridgeway, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy. The U.S. media is again responsible for the general awareness of these men; these stories deserved — and received — national attention due to our common interest in personal safety, the rule of law

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.
