| The left-leaning Public Policy Polling does regular weekly polling for the extreme left-leaning Daily Kos and SEIU, and the numbers this morning have probably stopped the hearts of leftists everywhere. Nationally, the poll shows Romney up four, 50-46%. In the swing states, the news is just as bad with Romney up three, 50-47%. In this particular poll, the movement towards Romney nationally is a net gain of two points. In the swing states, Romney overcame a four-point deficit. Two weeks ago he was losing to Obama, 50-46%. Polling seems to have the same scientific basis as throwing darts. Polling and people pulling the lever are two different things. The only poll that will matter to me is the one taken at midnight on election day.

I have a fairly safe prediction. No matter what happens at the debate tonight, the MSM will immediately hail Obama's tremendous comeback performance and attempt to demonize Romney for being untruthful, vague and/or rude.
After the last debate, the MSM and the rest of the left wing could not stifle their shock, horror and deep disappointment at Obama. It was like a gag reflex. They simply could not hold back their overpowering urge to vomit.
Now they have had time to reflect and have become even more shocked and horrified to see Romney shoot ahead of Obama in all of the polls. The MSM and the rest of the far left-wing fringe have way too much emotionally and financially invested in Obama to simply cut him loose now. They will do whatever it takes from now until the election to prop Obama back up.
If they do manage to prop Obama up long enough to get him re-elected, then they will start tearing into him like a pack of wild dogs. The honeymoon is definitely over.

I disagree about this being a "come back" set up (originally I typed coke instead of come - interesting). DKos, SIEU are progressive parties. They are about the movement, not any one person. If the general feeling in the movement is that President Obama has become a liability then they will no longer support him. Also, the Clinton Machine might have something to do with this.

This reminds me of the Republican primaries, where Romney seemed stuck in the mid 20% range for months, and gradually moved up as the other candidates imploded one by one. Romney was far from my first choice at the beginning of the primary season, but the guys I supported initially kept self destructing.
The same process seems to be playing out here. It's actually a very impressive performance by Mitt and his team.
He's not as conservative as I would like, but I think he has many talents that meet the needs of the time better than anyone else.
I'm still nervous about the debate tonight, almost as if it was me going on stage! Sure be glad when the election is over!!

It is amazing just how wrong economists were in their predictions for the number of jobs that were to be created in March. The “consensus” figure was 200,000 — a far cry from the actual number created which was 88,000. Totally “unexpected,” as usual. In one way, you can’t blame them. After a better than average gain in February of 236,000 (revised upward this month to 268,000), along with some positive numbers in housing and consumer spending, there were no doubt many analysts who began breathing a sigh of relief and believing that the long-awaited jobs recovery was upon us.

The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
