Obama 'Inherited' Obama
American Thinker, by C. Edmund Wright

Original Article

"Did they come in and inherit a tough situation? Absolutely." This from Paul Ryan, in the worst moment of the VP debate. Barack Obama is going to lose in a blow-out, and the debates have certainly padded that margin. Having said that, both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan left "some easy money on the table" through the first two debates that they now need to collect. The Romney/Ryan mandate will be even bigger, and effective governing afterwards will be more viable, if they but correct the media narrative of what Obama "inherited."

Obama came in with the bases loaded and walked four batters. The fans want the tall right-hander in the bullpen.

Finally, somebody says what I've been saying since 2008 when obama was running about talking about how bad things were and what he inherited. He was a senator and thus part of the problem. Along with the press and all the nuts who voted for him, obama acted like he had just risen from the ashes to take on the problems of America, when the problems come directly from liberal, socialist policies and regressive and overbearing, back breaking regulations. Finally, it's being said!

My response to Democrats who blame Bush for the woes of the economy: unemployment was 6.7% in 2006. Then Pelosi and Reid took control of Congress.
It's a cheesy argument, but it causes them pause.

The recent Twitter kerfuffle between Matt Drudge and the Obama/media/academic complex over the ObamaCare tax demonstrates in plain view and without question something many of us have known for years: while the organized left insist that they are the only ones smart enough to run the world, they remain astonishingly ignorant of how it works. They’re even ignorant of how the most fundamental parts of laws that they champion operate.

In typical establishment fashion, Reince Priebus and the wizards at the RNC have looked at the last presidential nomination cycle and learned the wrong lessons. They have concluded that not allowing Mitt Romney a smooth coronation was the problem, and they are out to make sure their anointed one never has to face that again. As such, the prescriptions for change recently announced by Priebus will only make things worse. This is what happens when a national party is isolated from -- and igorant of -- its nation.

Sports offers teachable insights into the leftist mindset, and even cursory observations verify that everything is political with these folks. This is unavoidable, I suppose, when your power is derived from electoral or public relation successes of the grievance industry. Thus, we know for sure liberals could not simply enjoy Monday´s BCS Title Game the way normal folks did.

While the Republican establishment was obsessing over the government shutdown, the evils of Ted Cruz, and the latest Jurassic media poll designed specifically to fool them, they remained blind to the massive iceberg that was about to nearly destroy the McAuliffe money machine campaign. As such, they missed a golden opportunity to nudge Ken Cuccinelli across the finish line -- an opportunity the GOP base understood. While Michael Barone did not say this in so many words, these are the inescapable conclusions of his Virginia race analysis.

In contemplating the bizarre, incompetent, and feckless behavior of House Speaker John Boehner over the years, I am reminded of the signature scene from the 1969 Western comedy Support Your Local Sheriff: In it,the sheriff (James Garner) ridicules dim-witted prisoner Joe Dandy (Bruce Dern), deriding him and maintaining full control even though his jail has no bars. The money scene is from 2:40 through 3:30: The cell on the right is yours. We don't have any bars yet...but we're gonna operate just as if the bars are there...so while you're in this jail, you stay on that side of the line,

There has been a lot of conversation, and rightfully so, about the ramifications of the Obama administration´s potentially illegal delay of the employer mandate portion of the train wreck known as ObamaCare. Many are saying that this proves that ObamaCare will fail and go down as one of the all-time "told you so" moments in political history -- while others insist that the delay is a stroke of political brilliance and/or exemplary caution needed for such an undertaking.

As you probably have heard, a few days ago Bill Maher shocked his liberal guest -- and much of the world -- by stating very correctly and succinctly that it is "liberal bullsh_t" to equate Christianity and Islam with respect to terror. The bluntness, not to mention the shocking accuracy of the statement from this particular source, had the social media universe all lit up over the weekend. It was surely my first "fist pump" ever in response to Maher.

Shortly after the 2009 Fort Hood terror attack was carried out by Nidal Hasan, Martha Raddatz and Diane Sawyer of ABC News openly lamented that the killer´s name was not something like Smith. They pretended to overhear this sentiment from some military wife at the fort, but I suspect otherwise -- that they were pulling the liberal trifecta of lying, projecting, and conflating victims with experts -- all simultaneously.

The story of the 2012 election is that voters still blame Republicans for systemic problems caused by liberalism, and yet they credit Obama for victories brought about by applied conservatism. Now how does this happen? The answer is both a short story and part of a longer festering narrative. Consider: during the Republican primary season, half of Mitt Romney's consultants told him to call Newt Gingrich the devil. The other half told him to merely to claim that the devil worshiped Gingrich. Then these same sorcerers all told Mitt to call Barack Obama "a nice guy."

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.
