7 key states move toward Romney
on new Rove Electoral Map

Investor's Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Karl Rove's weekly analysis of his updated Electoral Map is here: "Seven states changed status and strengthened for Mitt Romney after two weeks of favorable state polling following his impressive performance in the first presidential debate. "Montana moved from 'lean' to 'safe' Romney; North Carolina moved from 'toss up to 'lean' Romney; Ohio, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Nevada moved from 'lean' Obama to 'toss up;' and Connecticut shifted from 'safe' to 'lean' Obama.

I heard someone say yesterday that Obozo has known for a couple of weeks that he was going to lose. Thus, the lousy performance at the last debate. They do whatever they can to explain him away.

Romney basically has to win OH, VA, and either CO or NV. If the election was held today I'd bet he loses OH. If Romney does lose OH, he will have to sweep VA, IA, NH, CO and NV, which is very difficult. OH is the center of gravity. Must win there! We've got a lot of work to do until Election Day.

Here in Ohio, I see far more Romney signs than Obama signs. Four years ago, the place was wall-to-wall Obama signs. Now there are many signs claiming Obama has a war on coal, and many rural Ohioans are pro-second amendment (i.e., "clinging to their guns"), so I am not sure that Ohio will go Obama. I suspect it will go Romney. I hope so!

Please don’t talk about landslides until it happens. Then relish it. As other posters noted, Ohio is the pivotal state. Romney must win it. FL, VA, NC and CO look good.

Here in my part of Virginia, Romney signs are running 50 to 1 over 0bama signs. In a county that zippy won in 2008. Keep in mind that Sussex ( or was it Suffolk? ) polling has already called Virginia for Romney and quit polling here.

Turn-out in the non-urban areas is going to be key. Let me tell you how our esteemed former governor, Rod Blagojevich, won his primary in Illinois against an opponent who was well-known and well-liked (and who won) in Chicago. He spent all of his time and money downstate. He racked up big majorities in the rural areas that overcame his opponent's win in Chicago and Cook County. It can be done, but it takes money and organization.

Here in the most moonbat towns in deep blue MA there are lots of Warren (Liawatha) signs but only a fraction of them paired with O signs, where in 2008 it was a Sea of Zero.

In the non moonbat towns like mine there are more Scott Brown signs and a slight edge on pairing with Romney signs.

I'm in southcentral PA. I live in one county and work in another. To this date I have seen a total of two Obama signs. Not too many homes have signs on their lawns but of those that do, they are overwhelmingly 'R&R'.

Late-night comedians and their writers pounce on the day´s news as their primary source to twist and distort into laughs. Russia, of course, remains a hot item following the "uncontested arrival" of its troops in Crimea. Reflecting the diminished approval of President Obama, the late-night shows have been aiming their laughs at him more. Even Jimmy Fallon, who kicked off his Jay Leno replacement tour with a Michelle Obama interview, has aimed some laughs at his presidential pal. Although he quickly returns with something barbed at Republicans.

Good morning. I’m Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. Today, I’m calling on President Obama — the Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces — to support H.R. 4031, the VA Management Accountability Act. I do so as a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. [Snip] We need this commonsense bill because it will empower the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to fire senior officials who aren’t up to the job. Without this real-world accountability, the VA has become the epitome of bureaucracy run amok.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m Joe Biden. I’m filling in for President Obama, who is abroad. I want to talk to you today about the minimum wage and the overwhelming need to raise the minimum wage. There’s no reason in the world why an American working 40 hours a week has to live in poverty. But right now a worker earning the federal minimum wage makes about $14,500 a year.

President Obama, whose poll approval numbers hover weakly around 40% among Americans, met Thursday with Pope Francis, whose approval numbers among the same people are 76%. Now, you know why the Chicago Democrat sought the meeting. The two leaders exchanged gifts. The Vicar of Christ gave the ex-state senator a copy of his book "The Joy of the Gospel." The 44th president gave the head of the world´s Roman Catholic Church a box of fruit and veggie seeds from his wife´s garden. The first meeting of the new pope and lame-duck president was closely-watched because of the Democrat's concerted efforts to bring religious

By the time Barack Hussein Obama swore the oath of office with his hand on Abraham Lincoln´s personal Bible 1,883 days ago, he´d made so many promises to the American people that keeping track of them seemed like it would be quite a challenge. Turns out, tracking the public promises that Obama kept was really quite simple. He didn´t keep them. One of Obama´s most famous sunken promises was that his would be the most transparent presidential administration in history.[Snip] Now comes the Associated Press with a report card.

To the surprise of absolutely no one outside the Obama Oval Office, those Crimeans who voted in Sunday´s trumped-up referendum opted overwhelmingly to rejoin Russia. This as thousands of Russian troops occupied the Ukrainian province, while an even larger Russian army happened to conduct ´war games´ on Ukraine´s border. Obama, the former community organizer, again telephoned President Vladimir Putin, the former KGB colonel. Obama reminded the Russian he´d broken international law. Obama warned the Russian the referendum "would never be recognized by the United States." Bet that stung.

Good morning. My name is Bill Johnson, and I’m proud to represent Eastern and Southeastern Ohio in the House of Representatives. Four years ago today, President Obama came to our state and promised our seniors that his health care law would protect their benefits. He said this: “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. I don´t want to interfere with people’s relationships between them and their doctors." Now, the reality is, not only is the president’s health care law interfering with these relationships — it’s ending them.

As part of his desperate political plot to distract the country with something -- anything -- other than ObamaCare´s debacle and serial scandals, Barack Obama has been talking a lot about global warming. Forget about the Nov. 4 midterms, folks. The world is burning up. A crisis not to be wasted. Obama calls it climate change before his audiences because after this endless winter of polar vortexes and record snowfalls and ice cover, the word ´warming´ draws applause or chuckles. We’re living through the weakest economic recovery since World War II, and a lot of folks are struggling to make ends meet. Unemployment remains stubbornly high; the number of long-term unemployed is actually at record levels. But these statistics only tell half the story. Eleven million Americans have become so discouraged that they’ve given up looking for work altogether.
