Oh how horrible! He washed a couple of clean pans for a photo op. Pffft! What damage was done? The director is an Obama supporter, no doubt. Okay, so it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but it was probably one of those last minute decisions. He probably happened to be in the area. At least he didn't exploit dead soldiers for a photo op like Obama does.

I'll bet there's more to this story then the media is telling us right now.

Since they refuse to cover legitmate stories such as Benghazi, look for this insignificant story to be a 5-10 part series above the fold in the NYT and Compost bird cage liners.

The thing that makes me furious is that the director of a soup kitchen for the St. Vincent De Paul society (a Catholic organization) doesn't support the team that supports the Catholic position in this election. Shame on him.

That director has his panties in a twist because Barry didn't stop and do the same thing so he could fawn over him.

Something keeps popping up in what's left of my mind: I've never heard of a Director of a food kitchen before (which doesn't mean nobody else has ever been given that title, just strikes a flat note at my first hearing). Manager, sure, but not Director. Makes me think "liberal elitist." And if he's afraid some of his private donors might quit their generosity, well, I would answer they must not be donating out of concern for the hungry if that's the case. Bet you don't see any of them at the kitchen washing dishes, clean or not.

"Director of Soup Kitchen" is a title reserved for those living in a tax free zone paid for by tax payers. How much is the leech paid to run the kitchen?

#1 says it all. Soup Kitchens require no "invitation", in fact, they're always begging for people to come by and help, even if it's to wash a dish.

So let me get this straight...the 'director' of this kitchen is fussing about a Ryan photo op that will be in the national media instead of doing the smart thing and taking the unprecedented opportunity to highlight the work the kitchen does and they needs they have that those viewers might be able to meet? As president of the St Vincent de Paul Society, I strongly suspect that you are a Roman Catholic, even if in name only.
Your wholly unnecessary comments concerning Paul Ryan's visy make it clear that your sympathies lie with his opponent.

I seem to remember a picture a few years back of our President hanging curtains. The MSM thought that was such a glorious use of his time...even though an obvious photo op.

This story lost credibility with me when it states that Ryan '...put on aprons and rubber gloves and started washing dishes ...' I don't see any rubber gloves, do you?

Like one of the posters above, we brought sandwiches to a shelter one time and got fussed at by a libtard because we didn't serve the baloney on whole wheat bread! I then, very loudly, asked the homeless men "clients" if they wanted white bread or wheat. After the overwhelming response, the libtard mumbled something about "wheat being better for them". I offered my services elsewhere.

So, Congressman Ryan was shown volunteering and scrubbing pans which MIGHT encourage people to volunteer at a soup kitchen. Liberals really are moronic. On the other hand, wonder if there is another reason the director doesn't want attention brought to that soup kitchen?

Speaking of photo ops, I remember just after HillBilly was sworn in, the Billy half went out to a road construction site for one. With shovel in hand, he was cussing up a storm because someone on his staff had mixed up the location and he was late getting there. He said something along the lines of "What is the point of doing a photo op, if you can't get to it". The comment was laced with profanities. Of course the LSM never played it but Rush did.

According to some of the comments, the local news is saying that the pans WERE dirty. And that a staff person had given permission.

The "Director" needs to get a life. Even if it was only for publicity, drawing attention to the soup kitchen and its needs is a good thing.

The key here is that the Ryan group was there for 15 minutes before the aprons went on and the pans were washed. It is hard to believe someone working at the kitchen didn't say "go ahead".

I googled Brian Antal and it's being reported that he voted in Democratic primaries.

The story has fallen apart. Antal got in a snit and now claims he was misinformed. He wasn't notified and a worker at the kitchen should not have given Ryan's people permission.

Yes, the pans were dirty and Ryan did wash some. Pictures were taken.

Comments below story says the Director says the media misquoted him. He was more concerned about donations if perceived as partisan. If so he could approach the press and tell about donations faltering because of Ryan visit and watch the donations rebound as the GOP gets into the furor. Very not so silent majority having been fed up to the gills with socialist and greenie experimenter obama IMO.

What do Soup Kitchen directors and debate moderators have in common? Tonight they have shown a control freak and vanity mentality and make themselves the story to their detriment and to their regret.

How are they different in their desire to undo their quick shots? Ryan might feel like helping the soup kitchen recoup any losses caused by the director.
