That could include the Middle East, the economy, unemployment, gas prices, healthcare, Social Security, tax reform, etc., etc.

There is a problem here. Obama is at a major disadvantage when it comes to articulating his vision of the future, for if he goes into detail and is truthful, he will blow his socialist, anti-American cover and lose the election for sure. This, after all, is the man who boasted of his intention "to fundamentally transform the United States of America." But the great majority of Americans do not desire nor will they tolerate any such thing. This arrogant boast is deeply alarming and offensive to them. So he has to talk in platitudes, generalities and banalities - and he has to deflect attention from himself, his record and his plans to the alleged deficiencies of his opponent. This is easy enough when there is no living, breathing opponent present to refute his calumnies. Obama is skilled at creating and demolishing Straw Men and assassinating the character of adversaries. He seldom fails to hit his stride before a friendly and adoring audience that cheers his every word. But this crude demagoguery does not play well in a debate format. Nor can his media bodyguard lay down their customary smokescreen to protect him in a debate. When Americans see and hear Barack Obama in the presence of an able and spirited opponent, they are are distinctly unimpressed. The magic is gone. The emperor is shown to be without clothes, a small, mediocre and rather pathetic creature. If he becomes still more snide, sneering and demeaning, he will alienate many who (mistakenly) now find him "likable." He is between a rock and a hard place with very little room to maneuver.

Obama plans to defacto nationalize energy via the EPA, regulations, cap and trade, tax policy. That will complete the nationalization of all major industries: financial, health, energy, and the auto companies. The remaining major industries are controlled by government contracts. Obama already controls money printing. He has Ben Bernanke to print all the money he wants. Obama will forget about congress and the constitution and rule by executive order.

Add the name of Michelle Lynne (ne Robert) Kosilek to the list of modern phenomena the Founding Fathers would definitely not appreciate being blamed for. Little did they know what havoc they would someday wreak by adding the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution to prohibit “cruel and unusual punishment.” Now comes Kosilek, a convicted wife murderer doing life without parole. He/she is claiming that it would be cruel and unusual punishment to deny him/her a sex-change operation — excuse me, “gender-reassignment surgery.”Not to get too graphic, but Kosilek is begging for elective amputation of a body part.

Two very bad and extremely dangerous economic developments happened yesterday — and Wall Street appeared to miss both of them. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 40.86 points to 14565.25 after the Labor Department announced that the seasonally adjusted number of new jobs created in March was just 88,000 — far below the 190,000 or so Wall Street expected. The March figure was also less than one-third the number of jobs created during February. This led to the misperception that the job market tanked in March. It didn’t.

DENVER -- Two more men connected to a violent white supremacist gang are being sought in connection with the slaying of Colorado´s prisons chief, according to a warning bulletin that´s the first official word other gang members might be involved. The search comes about two weeks after prison gang member Evan Ebel was killed in a shootout with Texas deputies. RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
