Free Candy Crowley!
Washington Post, by Jennifer Rubin

Original Article

Apparently, the two presidential campaigns want to muzzle Candy Crowley in the second debate tomorrow night. The Post reports that while both the campaigns agreed that the debate moderator would get no follow-ups or otherwise intervene, Crowley, in what seems to have been a communication lapse, didn’t agree to that arrangement. (Hey, these people could work at the White House!) The Commission on Presidential Debates said it would talk to her. Will Candy go rogue? I suppose she’s going to have to follow the rule,

For a few days Jennifer was sounding sane. Now this:

But still, each in his or her own way, Lehrer and Martha Raddatz kept the debates they moderated moving and made sure the candidates engaged each other.

Jennifer did not watch the Raddatz "debate" that I watched.

Candy who? If America wanted to see Candy, they would watch her show. The debate is about Obama and Romney -- not some old CNN careerist. Tom Brokaw tried to make the townhall debate about HIM 4 years ago. Enough. Just ask the damn question, lady, and let the two duke it out.

Given her past derogatory comments about Romney/Ryan, you can bet her "follow-up" comments and questions would be favorable to the Obama camp.

The more the Media attacks Romney and protects, Obama, the more the Progressives look weak.

The economy and world leadership issues are too important to be managed by "soundbites".

Let Candy make a fool of herself.
Raddatz tried that on Ryan and it backfired.

Romney will be ready.

Romney/Ryan!

Martha's injecting herself and her opinions into the debate was cringeworthy, but it helped Plugs, so we'll see more of it tonight. A lot more. However, I believe Mitt will be a bit better at asserting himself against it than Paul was (though Paul was fie overall).

I have the day off so I plan to see Atlas Shrugged II in the afternoon and the debate tonight. Readying the popcorn and cocktail shaker. I hope lucianne is gracious enough to provide another live thread and does not get attacked again from outside. This is going to be a left tilted event - Obama, the moderator and the audience. I am sure Romney is expecting that. Raddatz was awful. She seemed to assume that we cared more about her opinions than Paul Ryan's. She was as rude, arrogant and dismissive as Biden was. Even the conservative pundits are heaping on the praise about how great she was and what a 'nice guy' Biden is. They are obviously easily taken in by cocktail party phoniness. Most people in DC are that shallow. It will be up to Romney to manage this and I'm betting he will.

"Huffington was using the apartment for large parties and business functions in breach of the sublease and Huffington´s promises," court papers allege.

Dr. Luis Leon’s sermon: We often want things to go back to the way things used to be, before “work got difficult and faith got confused, and life got more confusing,” but when we dwell on the “if only” of life we forget that “God addresses us in the now.” As Jesus told Mary not to hold on to the past, “You cannot go back.”

Although the term "useful idiots" was originally attributed to Vladimir Lenin, its origin is undetermined but it is very applicable to the naïve celebrities in Hollywood and the media now mourning the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Much like the devotees of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, these grieving individuals have made no effort to learn the truth about those they lionize. One has to feel some pity for the likes of the Sean Penns, Oliver Stones, Michael Moores, Danny Glovers, and idolaters who naively support malignant despots and causes believing them to be a force for good.

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
