Parents Prefer President
Obama as Babysitter

ABC News, by Anthony Castellano

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 10/15/2012 1:10:38 PM

In a new ABC News/Washington Post poll poll released Monday, 49 percent of registered voters surveyed said they would rather leave a child with the president than Romney. That’s a 13 point spike for Obama; just two weeks ago, the rivals were dead even in the “babysitting” question. Obama’s reserved, less-confrontational performance at the debate could be a big reason for the upswing. The president suggested he might have been “too polite” during his meeting with Romney in Denver. But whatever that his demeanor cost him, it seemed to hit home with when it comes to caring and responsibility.

Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 points for registered and likely voters alike, including design effect.

If I let my kid stay with the Romneys, they would eat popcorn, watch a family-oriented video, do some chores and be taught good moral principles. If I leave them with Obie and Mooch they get taught to smoke choom, learn to lie, get a lecture on how great the world would be under communism, and get another on how whites, christians, men, and in particular, ex President George Herbert Walker Bush are to blame each time they do something stupid.

Reply 12 - Posted by: JoeUser, 10/15/2012 1:27:49 PM     (No. 8934710)

Well, let's see. Teenagers (those that typically make up the role of babysitter):

1. Young, inexperienced
2. Still learning responsibility
3. Idealistic, naive
4. Impressed by peer-think
5. Knows it all, and doesn't care what you think
6. Gullible, due to lack of wisdom yet earned by years
7. Has no intrinsic sense of material worth and little respect for others' property

Yep, I think the poll just might be right.

Hours after the Lockerbie atrocity, Mrs Thatcher was wading through the carnage wrought by terrorists over a small Scottish town, paying her condolences to the bereaved. It had been a long and harrowing day, but when she arrived back in London late that night she still found time to phone me at home. Her voice was anxious, kind. She asked: ‘How is Ray, dear?’ The day before, my husband had suffered a serious accident and Mrs Thatcher had been characteristically solicitous, offering her car to run me home.

Arizona Gov. "It is chilling to imagine an Arizona school child being shut away in a padded room, no larger than a closet, for hours on end," Brewer said after signing the law Friday. "There has to be a better way." With the new law, Arizona will join more than 30 other states that impose rules on the restraint of students in public schools.

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Writing in the blog The Review, J.P. What Freire found was an evident sense of admiration for Chavez’s accomplishments as the Latin American state’s autocratic leader, but a distinct lack of respect for Thatcher’s achievements in office. “Love her or loathe her, one thing’s beyond dispute: Margaret Thatcher transformed Britain,” AP opened the former U.K. prime minister’s obituary on Monday.

Is ObamaCare the reform to end all other reforms? The massive health care law´s problems are well known. Major tax hikes and Medicare cuts will fund a massive new government program, rather than shore up the nation´s finances. ObamaCare already is encouraging companies to cut jobs and work hours. With the administration delaying the insurance exchanges that might help small businesses until 2015, even ObamaCare cheerleaders are growing worried. And the law will leave tens of millions of Americans without health coverage. That´s the best-case scenario,

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
