Bo helps with the diplomacy!
White House releases new
behind-the-scenes photos

Daily Mail (UK), by Helen Pow

The White House has released a selection of images from September, including an adorable shot of the President introducing his dog Bo to Burmese Opposition Leader Aung San Suu Kyi. In the behind-the-scenes photograph, taken on September 19, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton watches on with a grin as the shaggy black pet gets some affection. Mr Obama famously promised his daughters the dog after the 2008 presidential race. The puppy is now all grown up and, like its powerful master, is rubbing shoulders with the world's most influential leaders. Scroll down for video

These are obviously all pre-planned photo ops, but there's one I do like...the shot of all the trash bags and junk out on the curb in front of a damaged house after Hurricane Isaac. With apologies to that homeowner, I'd like to caption it "Moving Day, Jan. 20, 2013".

Good go-getter headline. Lots of pics of O, not so many of Bo. When a First Lady visits Arlington National Cemetery she need to be respectful of every single person buried there. Sleeves would have been appropriate. Bo looks like a lovely dog. I'll take him when the O's no longer need him as a prop.

It is truly a Hollywood epic of biblical proportions, the original disaster story of the man chosen by God to undertake the greatest rescue in history before an apocalyptic flood engulfs the world. But even before it opens in America this week and Britain on April 4, Noah, a $130 million blockbuster with Russell Crowe in the lead role, is already awash in a turbulent sea of controversy. The film, packed with special effects based around a massive replica arc built in Long Island near New York, also stars Sir Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah and Emily Watson, the Harry Potter

The US president will arrive in the Netherlands on Monday morning for talks with fellow leaders of the Group of Seven industrial democracies, when he will try to persuade them to increase pressure on Russia. It comes as Russian troops backed by helicopters stormed a Ukrainian naval base on the Crimea peninsula early on Monday, one of the few military facilities that was still flying a Ukrainian

WASHINGTON — Bill Clinton found him to be cold and worrisome, but predicted he would be a tough and able leader. George W. Bush wanted to make him a friend and partner in the war on terror, but grew disillusioned over time. Barack Obama tried working around him by building up his protégé in the Kremlin, an approach that worked for a time but steadily deteriorated to the point that relations between Russia and the United States are now at their worst point since the end of the Cold War. For 15 years, Vladimir V. Putin has confounded American presidents

There’s something that makes the current Supreme Court different from some of its recent predecessors. The justices got religion. Or at least they seem more open about their faith, appearing before devout audiences and talking more about how religion shaped their lives or guides them now. As the court this week weighs religious conviction vs. legal obligation in the latest challenge to the Affordable Care Act, those who study the court say the change is hard to quantify but easy to notice. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. are devout Catholics who faced questions
