YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan received several standing ovations from a crowd of about 500 Saturday at Youngstown State University as he doubled down on positions he has held on key issues for much of his political career and throughout the campaign. "We have a big choice to make," said Mr. Ryan, a congressman from Wisconsin. "This isn't an ordinary election. We're not just deciding who's going to be president for the next four years. We're deciding what kind of country are we going to have for the next generation." Mr. Ryan

Not trying to be picky but 500 doesn't really seem like much of a crowd. Perhaps they should have threatened a few LOL

Wouldn't put it past the 'media' (aka libtard propagandists) to have dropped a zero from the number reported - especially as there are no pictures in this article.

#4 absolutely...having had intimate knowledge of the way the numbers are "fudged" (in my day, we called it lying!!!) regarding crowd numbers..I would bet there were thousands more there than reported..Back in April of 2009 at the first Tea Party gathering the lib rag reported several hundred..there were 3000 and in Sept. of 2009 there were 7000, they reported 2000..they had to retract both numbers..of course, it was retracted on page D-10...

500 probably isn't too bad for a Republican VP candidate even if YSU is a huge school. Republicans after all are still considered uncool. So it may or may not be that they're not that into him.

According to the local newspaper: "Ryan spoke for about 17 minutes to the crowd of about 1,400 in YSU’s Kilcawley Center — including an overflow room of 200 who watched him on a giant-screen TV — and then answered six questions during a 42-minute town hall." It appears the Center is the student union.

Ukraine´s acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya said this morning that the likelihood of war between his country and Russia is growing as Russian troops continued to seize Ukrainian military bases in the annexed Crimea region. Mr. Deschchytsya told ABC that "we don´t know what (Russian President Vladimir) Putin has in his mind... that´s why this situation is becoming even more explosive than it used to be a week ago." At least 59 people have died in Guinea following the outbreak of deadly flesh-eating virus Ebola. The first cases of the haemorrhagic fever were spotted late last month. With no known cure or vaccine, health ministers have warned people to stay inside while they try to stop it spreading. Symptoms include internal and external bleeding, vomiting and diarrhoea. It is spread by personal contact and kills 25-90 per cent of those infected. ´In Guinea, a country with a weak medical infrastructure, an outbreak like this can be devastating,´ the Unicef representative in Guinea, Dr. Mohamed Ag Ayoya, said in a

OSLO - Heavy rains from the Amazon to Australia have curbed sea level rise so far this century by shifting water from the oceans to land, according to a study that rejects theories that the slowdown is tied to a pause in global warming. Sea level rise has been one of the clearest signs of climate change - water expands as it warms and parts of Greenland and Antarctica are thawing, along with glaciers from the Himalayas to the Alps. But in a puzzle to climate scientists, the rate slowed to 2.4 millimeters (0.09 inch) a year from 2003 to

It may involve… 1. A phone call from John Kerry to anyone in Russia who still takes his calls for laughs warning that Russia is on “the wrong side of history.” 2. Sanctions against the Deputy Under-Governor of Southern Siberia 3. An emergency shipment of 2,000 copies of “Dreams From My Father” to besieged Ukrainian soldiers Secretary of State John Kerry informed a group

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — The plane must be somewhere. But the same can be said for Amelia Earhart´s. Ten days after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared with 239 people aboard, an exhaustive international search has produced no sign of the Boeing 777, raising an unsettling question: What if the airplane is never found? Such an outcome, while considered unlikely by many experts, would certainly torment the families of those missing. It would also flummox the airline industry, which will struggle to learn lessons from the incident if it doesn´t know what happened. While rare nowadays, history is not short of

That goes beyond hypocritical, and I think the American media and the international media has every right to call her and the Obama administration on that — that they permitted that to happen,” said Tom Whalen, a political history professor at Boston University. “It makes you shake your head, albeit sadly.” The first lady stopped at Peking University in Beijing yesterday
