| Legendary Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter died in his home Sunday morning from complications of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, according to a statement released by his family. He was 82. Specter, 82, announced in 2005 that he had Hodgkin's disease, for which he underwent chemotherapy. He was treated again in 2008, after the disease returned. He was again hospitalized in August to deal with the disease. Specter’s funeral will be open to the public and held at Har Zion Temple in Penn Valley. Internment will immediately follow at Shalom Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley. The family asks that contributions be made in lieu

I've spent my long life being thwarted from saying the truth by "it isn't couth to speak of religion or politics", 'gays' cannot help their propensity, 'diversity' is the ultimate good, speak no ill of the dead, and such utter political-correctness rot.
I say I hope some more concerned-only-with-their-own-success individuals follow as soon as possible. We need leaders who hold America and its Constitution above all.. for the future of America's children (and those of the rest of the world). The future freedom, success and happiness of our descendants is what is important!!

I must say Senator Specter put up a valiant fight against a lot of odds trying to defeat a deadly disease. Have to credit him with that anyway. At 82, he couldn't ask for much more. Never agreed with him and didn't miss him when he left Congress. That being said, condolences to the family. It's a loss to lose a loved one, no matter his politics.

Williamson, W.Va.- The man suspected of killing a West Virginia sheriff as he ate lunch in his car was mentally disturbed and had no particular vendetta with law enforcement, his father told The Associated Press on Thursday. Melvin Maynard said his 37-year-old son, Tennis Melvin Maynard, was exposed to harmful chemicals and injured while working at an Alabama coal mine.
