Chris Wallace Grills David Axelrod
On Libya, Accusation That Romney’
Exploiting’ Issue

Mediaite, by Meenal Vamburkar

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 10/14/2012 12:22:00 PM

David Axelrod, senior adviser to President Obama, had a tense interview on Fox News Sunday, wherein host Chris Wallace pressed him on the White House response to the recent attacks in Libya. Defending the administration’s response, Axelrod further added that Mitt Romney is “working hard to exploit” the issue. Asked whether Obama takes “personal responsibility” for the situation, Axelrod replied, “At the top-line level, the president of the United States takes responsibility for everything that happens on his watch.”

Comments:
The usually cold Axelrod was overheated and agitated. To use the overused cliche, "he protesteth too much".

Losing it - it’s all kind of falling apart and this group of amateurs have no idea how to make it right because telling the truth is incongruous to them.

Axelrod just sat there are lied and lied and lied. And when he wasn't lying he was evading with that "47...47...47" business which was unresponsive to Wallace's questions, which were mostly about foreign policy. The Benghazi mess is the worst presidential scandal ever. Several of the top people in this unfortunate Administration, including Mrs. Clinton, belong in prison. Both Obama and Biden deserve to be thrown out of office. (I know that won't happen, but just for the fun of it, can you say "President Boehner"? He's second in the line of succession, followed by Senate President Pro Tempore Daniel In-no-way.)

It's about time for the referee to step in and end this bout before Obama's punch drunk, rubbery kneed organization does an unconscious face plant, vapor locks, and leaves the ring in a large black forensic examiner's Ziploc.

Oil Can Harry didn't acquit himself well this morning on FNC. If he had answered Chris Wallace's questions, he would have risked opening a can of radioactive worms that could eat Chicago. That wouldn't have gone down well on Lakeshore Drive, in Hyde Park, and in Cabrini Green. The Benghazi imbroglio is the wors--and deadliest--political scandal in our lifetimes.

This is definitely a political issue that needs to be discussed. There is an ocean of difference between philosophies between the two parties regarding foreign policy. This catastrophe in Benghazi is a prime example.

Then Chris Wallace would be the only one pressing them. It was slam dunk libs all the way on the other Sunday shows this morning. I had hopes for This Week & J Tapper, but all they did was speculate uselessly & ad nauseum on the effectiveness of debates in general - and most from a historical perspective, you see. Far be it from them to get into the unpleasant issues or (shudder) actual current events.

During the panel, Laura Ingraham didn't mince words when she motioned to the NYT's Jeff Zeleny (sitting next to her) and motioned with her hand toward him, saying "why isn't the press camped outside Rice's and Hillary's and (etc.) residences the way they did with Scooter Libby?"

Deepening the mystery of human origins, researchers Thursday offered the most complete view yet of fossils from a puzzling forerunner of humankind, revealing that these creatures were, from head to heel, a collage of primitive and modern anatomy. In six research papers published in Science, an international team described how the hominids had almost-human hands attached to apelike arms, a rib cage that was narrow like an ape´s at the top but more humanlike lower down, and a spine that likely had the same number of vertebrae as a human.

Singer Beyonce and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter traveled to Cuba “pursuant to an educational exchange trip” organized by an authorized company, the U.S. Treasury Department said in response to inquiries from Florida lawmakers. The trip by the celebrity couple spurred widespread media coverage after two U.S. representatives from Florida, Republicans Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, asked the Treasury who approved the travel and for what purpose. U.S. law prohibits financial transactions for tourist activities in Cuba to prevent funding of the government, which controls the industry. The Treasury permits visits for educational reasons.

With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.
