Joe Biden, 'Practicing Catholic'
American Thinker, by Jeannie DeAngelis

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 10/14/2012 9:08:50 AM

Amid all the smirking, chortling, and "give me a break, kid" sniggering that ill-mannered Joe Biden exhibited at the 2012 vice presidential debate, when he piously explained his stance on abortion, he exposed in totality the hypocrisy of liberal thinking. Toward the end of the debate, Biden's friend and one time houseguest, moderator Martha Raddatz, posed the following question to the candidates: "We have two Catholic candidates ... [a]nd I would like to ask you both to tell me what role your religion has played in your own personal views on abortion[.]"

Too much of this going on. The Church is overdue for a purge - these jackals are only using Catholicism to win votes and perpetrate their evil.

The fact Joe was close and comfortable with Raddatz~(she should sue her plastic surgeon)~ gave him the freedom to act like Batman's Joker. All people will remember about the Vice Jackass is his boorish behavior in a serious setting.

When Biden says that he doesn't want to impose his views on others does that apply 1) to murder as a crime, 2) the Democratic platform?
What hypocrisy!!! The Church should excommunicate him, Sibelius, and all the other faux Catholics who condone, support or allow pro-abortion policies.

And who is to be purged OP? IMO, neither have the moral authority to do it. Catholic politicians have been supporting abortion for decades with the tacit approval of the church. The church itself has never rained in the nuns who run around on preaching Women's Rights. There are no clean hands in this evil movement.

Biden, Pelousy, Sebelius, and other Dems should be called "Wheelbarrow Catholics". They load Church Doctrine in a wheelbarrow; roll it around til they need to espouse some point they want to co-opt for their own. Point out their point of view ( That they're GOOD Catholics. BUT The Church Doctrine is not in conflict with Their views. Although, Doctrine must apply to every other Catholic.
Hypocricy, is alive in the Dem Party.

There is one trick that bidet always uses to get sympathy and that is invoking the memory of his dead wife and child. He certainly deserves sympathy for such a horrible loss, but, to use it to deflect criticism is cheap beyond belief.

FTA: Joe Biden repeated twice that, "with regard to abortion," the church's position that "life begins at conception" is de fide, or "belonging to the essentials of the faith, by virtue of a papal ruling."

This is incorrect. The fact that human life begins at conception (or, to be more exact, fertilization) is established by embryology, not by papal ruling.

The Catholic Church argues --- correctly -- that this is not a matter of Supernatural Revelation, but a matter of Natural Law: something that is affirmed by evidence and reasoned argument, and which is therefore broadly intellectually accessible to everyone and binding on everyone, not just on Catholics.

This is relevant because the discussion is about public policy which passes the Constitutional "rational purpose" test.

We can't say "Everyone in the USA should be obliged by [civil] law to receive Communion," because that is based on Faith. However we can say "no one should intentionally kill the conceived child," because the conception of a child is an objective fact, and the prohibition against the killing of children is a matter of Natural Law.

Given the option, I'd rather stand with the Atheists for Life
http://tinyurl.com/atheists-for-life
than with the Catholics for choice.

Why? Because God is not fooled by Baal-in-a-Catholic-hat.

I'm not Catholic, but I oppose abortion as a means of birth control. Unless she is raped, in today's world, a woman does have the right to control her body and not get pregnant. If her birth control fails, she knew she was taking a chance with Nature, she made the choice. Without any religious training, I believe it is terminating human life and I cannot support that.

Reply 19 - Posted by: LINGILLEN, 10/14/2012 8:41:13 PM     (No. 8933263)

I agree #18. However, I must take it a step further. I cannot think of any question or problem in which the solution is to kill an unborn baby.

I have seen cases where a mother refused to abort her child because a Dr. told her it was for her health. 'Health reasons' can be a vague reason.

I have also heard of a woman who conceived during a rape and refused to abort her child. She said that she had been through a horrific situation and could not see where killing her unborn child would make things right.

Incest is another horrific situation. Punish the violator, not the innocent children.

These are courageous woman, and they have God on their side. There are no easy answers and, in my opinion, abortion is not a consideration.

The death of Margaret Thatcher received extensive media coverage in Chile, proving that the “Dama de Hierro” (“Iron Lady”) is still capable of stirring powerful emotions among Chileans—of irritation among her opponents and admiration from her supporters. Her passing occurred while Heritage economic experts were in Santiago to present results for Chile in the 2013 Index of Economic Freedom (a publication that celebrates the core principles to which Prime Minister Thatcher dedicated her political career). Several Chileans told us why Thatcher mattered so much to them and why Chile mattered to her.

Rights activists reacted with indignation on Wednesday after Singapore´s High Court rejected a petition to repeal an archaic law criminalising sex between men. In a ruling issued on Tuesday, the court said it was up to parliament to repeal a controversial provision in the penal code known as Section 377A, whose constitutionality has been questioned by a gay couple. "The issue in the present case no doubt is challenging and important, but it is not one which, in my view, justifies heavy-handed judicial intervention ahead of democratic change," Judge Quentin Loh said in his verdict.

Documents released by Wikileaks show Catholic Church dismissed criticism of Chile’s military dictatorship as ‘communist propaganda.´ The Catholic Church originally labeled accusations of human rights abuses by the military junta in Chile as “leftist lies,” only revising their stance later as widespread governmental violence became undeniable. Among the hundreds of documents from the U.S. State Department released by Wikileaks on Monday was a cable sent to then-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger from his counterpart at the Vatican, Archbishop Giovanni Benelli.

A wide variety of experienced politicians, civil servants and courtiers who observed at first hand the Queen’s relationship with Margaret Thatcher agree: it was (long pause, pained expression) “difficult.” Here were two women of similar age but very dissimilar backgrounds; previously strangers, they were conjoined during the most tumultuous and confrontational years of postwar politics. Among the most radical of the Thatcherite thinkers were some whose contempt for the old, flabby institutions of a weary, oversocialized country reached even to the monarchy. They (naively) tended to see the United States as a model in politics and economics,

ONLY a handful of peace-time politicians can claim to have changed the world. Margaret Thatcher, who died this morning, was one. She transformed not just her own Conservative Party, but the whole of British politics. Her enthusiasm for privatisation launched a global revolution and her willingness to stand up to tyranny helped to bring an end to the Soviet Union. Winston Churchill won a war, but he never created an “ism”. The essence of Thatcherism was to oppose the status quo and bet on freedom—odd, since as a prim control freak, she was in some ways the embodiment of conservatism.
