| The Obama administration finalized a program Friday to fast-track solar energy projects on public lands in six Western states. The Interior Department set aside about 285,000 acres for commercial-scale solar in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. The federal government will offer incentives for development, help facilitate access to existing or planned electric infrastructure and ease the permitting process in the 17 zones. “Energy from sources like wind and solar have doubled since the president took office, and with today’s milestone, we are laying a sustainable foundation to keep expanding our nation’s domestic energy resources,” Interior Secretary Ken

This is NOT 285,000 acres for energy production. This is 285,000 acres that can't be used for grazing, mineral extraction, gas and oil discovery or any other purpose that would actually be productive and would produce positive income somewhere. This is land for more corruption and a continual federal subsidy to 'infinity and beyond.' It's all about corruption if you dig just a little and Dirty Harry Reid's name on it is a huge indicator.

The Department of the Interior is one of hundreds of federal agencies that must be gutted before they gut our futures. The only cabinet level agencies that should exist, constitutionally, are the departments of State, Treasury, Justice, and Defense. Every other one should be devolved to the states or localities. That's a simple virtuous platform for our political future. Agreed?

Bingo, #1. This move and the one listed earlier that $50M was funneled into another failed wind-energy effort makes one wonder if this man is insane. He keeps grabbing as many billions of our dollars as possible and knowingly putting them into failed endeavors. Where is the money really going? To some Islamists or what? This is one dangerous man, surrounded by dozens equally dangerous (think czars), hellbent on destroying this country in case he's not re-elected. If he is re-elected, we're toast.

Does any of this imply big contracts going to potential undisclosed donors? How about the Chinese principal who is supposedly out to buy the wrecked Solyndra? There's little logic behind the notion of purchasing the wreckage. They always said Solyndra couldn't manufacture the solar products because the Chinese were able to do so more cheaply....

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.
