Maine town awaits list of

KENNEBUNK, Maine — With equal parts dread, gallows humor and gawking curiosity, residents of this bucolic seaside burg are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see if any of their neighbors are among the more than 150 men accused of paying a Zumba dance instructor for sex. “You’re familiar with ‘The Scarlet Letter’? This is the same thing, only now it’s the letter Z for Zumba,” said Gisele Nedeau, who runs Ashby’s Deli with her husband, Mark. Police yesterday had planned to publish the names of some of those summoned to court in connection with

They videotaped the encounters and kept meticulous records.

This will destroy many families in a small community.

We spent part of our honeymoon in Kennebunk Port. It was beautful. It was the peak of their tourist season and every restaurant closed at 80 and there were blue hairs and b&b's as far as the eyes could see. We were baffled and thought "surely this is the most boring town on earth." Apparently, we were very wrong!

I can't really see any purpose in publishing names. The woman and her "friend" are under arrest, they will pay a hefty fine at least, and the operation has been stopped. Why destroy any more lives? Divorce lawyers must be salivating; follow the money.

I do not see the point in publishing the names. This really is a minor crime, has been going on since the beginning of time and will never stop as long as we have sex drives. What it will hurt is the men, their wives and children. I am not saying frequenting prostitutes is good or should be encouraged. I am just not jumping on this shame bandwagon. And I am a woman. This is just my viewpoint.

If families are destroyed, then the blame is squarely on the men who betrayed their wives. I do not feel sorry for them but I do feel sorry for the wives and children who have been betrayed. In this day and age when morals are no longer applied to their lives, and cheap sex is their lifestyle, then let them take responsibility for their actions. Would you want to sleep with every prostitute these guys have slept with?
Their wives do.

FTA: ''the alleged prostitution racket that authorities said was run by 29-year old Alexis Wright''

The Justice Department was quick to send a representative, a one-time dis-barred lawyer who was sure to ''not have sex with that woman,'' in an attempt to assert that no Federal crimes were broken [just hearts] in the commission of her alleged actions. As a potential employer of the new IRS, Mr. Clinton [see Hillary], was acquiring information if correct tax forms were submitted and proper deductions made for the various ''outfits'' required in her new line of work. [Since this is an election year, the White House did not want another scandal of the proportions of Gov. Sarah Palin & her $150K wardrobe paid for by the GOP.]

Miss Wright, an avowed environmentalist & new age entrepreneur, claims to have taken the extraordinary step of taking showers with these men in an attempt to save energy because of a preexisting disability. Having to spend so much time on her back, she had these men sleep with her in attempt to keep warm in the quiet Maine town and move her about occasionally to keep circulation going. [Who knew ''Storybrooke, Maine'' existed?]

In a released statement from the White House, Mr. Obama called her on a her government supplied cellphone to be sure that she was a registered voter, her job was included by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and that she had free access to birth control.

''While I am no Sandra Fluke,'' a tearful Miss Wright, long out of school and possibly her cheer leaders outfit, ''I was doing the job that many of their wives wouldn't.'' [Wink, wink.]

Bill Clinton, nor Hillary could be found for comments on this story.

It's Kennebunk, not Kennebunkport. Two different towns, though they are next to each other. K'bunk is on Route 1, is moderately upscale and touristy. K'port is on the water, highly upscale (Walker's Point, the Bush family summer refuge, is there) and while it may have prostitutes, you can't afford them.

The old order changeth, and he who does not get out of the way risks getting runneth over. This applies to senators, baseball players, preachers, poachers, Volkswagen mechanics and anyone else who isn’t paying attention. Mr. Cochran is polished and courtly, and when Hollywood casts a gentleman of the Old South it could model the character on him.
