| The Obama administration’s effort to create government-sanctioned “sustainable communities” moved ahead this week, with the announcement of almost $5 million in planning grants. Seventeen poor communities across the U.S. will share the $4.95 million to draft plans for the “next generation" of public housing and other "sustainable" neighborhood improvements, such as better schools, anti-crime efforts, and greater access to health care and grocery stores.

This morning, I woke up to find a real estate sign on my lawn, my next door neighbor's lawn, and the 2 houses next to his. Apparently, they want to sell to a developer to make a 600 unit apartment monstrosity. These are some of the few houses left on large pieces of land in the city. It sounda like that leftist government is behind this somehow. And we also found out there is landlord collusion going on--they just doubled rents on houses and are demanding under-the-table deposits of many thousands (NON-REFUNDABLE, CASH ONLY, NO RECIEPT GIVEN) in the area. So, there is a good chance that I and my pets will end up homeless and the 15 feral cats I take care of will be lost because their home will be destroyed. Welcome to the Soviet Republik of Kalifornia where corruption is king and cronysim is queen.

If ever there was a chance of another bust on Mt. Rushmore, Romney has it. Any movement to bring this country out of the moral decay and financial abyss liberalism has created (along with more than a few Republican votes) will give Romney and Ryan a place in history that could well surpass Reagan.

Heads Up! This is an expansion of a program already in progress in L.A., NYC & elsewhere... The goal is to place ALL Americans in upgraded public housing, where there will be no need for cars or individual wealth.
Notice the term "mixed use".... That refers to shoving the poor, middle class & elderly into 300 SF condo's, where all your needs will be met by gov't... including being told what your job is.

I lost my home last year... instead of it going thru foreclosure & auction, the BKrtcy judge "sold" it to " Federal Asset Mgt"... who quitclaimed it to a property mgt co. just days later, who now are renting it out.
The mrtg is still active until the bank's interest is "resolved"? What has the gov't promised the banks?

This will work well. Every project the feds have put up to give housing to the 'poor' ends up with a totally trashed neighborhood...why do you think that is? Well for starters when someone doesn't earn something they have zero respect for it...simple as that.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. As expected, the presidential race is tight in Ohio, where the polls just closed: President Obama is winning women 55 percent to 44 percent in the early CBS News exit poll, while Mitt Romney is leading 52 percent to 46 percent among men. Women made up 51 percent of the electorate, compared to 49 percent among women. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned.
