Damage Control: Obama Campaign
Tries to Spin Biden's Bizarre
Debate Behavior

Breitbart's Big Government, by Joel B. Pollak

The Obama campaign is struggling to respond to mounting criticism of Vice President Joe Biden's bizarre behavior during last night's debate with Rep. Paul Ryan. Biden not only interrupted Ryan frequently--82 times, according to Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus--but frequently laughed, smirked, and snorted at serious moments, showing contempt for his opponent and disturbing even friendly observers. A CNN poll conducted after the debate, which handed Ryan a narrow 48%-44% victory, also showed that Ryan had beaten Biden by an even wider margin when it came to "likeability." Viewers in the poll--with an admittedly small sample--

It looks to me like the overnight snap polls are bad for Bite Me, otherwise they would just keep going with their "Joe was fabulous" meme.

I taped it, watched about 30 minutes, then skipped ahead to watch Ryan's last two answers. I thought he had a powerful close.

As far as smirkin' Joe goes, to paraphrase the rabbi's prayer in _Fiddler_On_The_Roof_, "May the Lord bless and protect Joe Biden, and keep him far, far away from the Oval Office" Bless his _little_ heart.

Joe's behavior wasn't all that bizarre... At least for a problem-child third grader who got away from home without his school-day meds. We've all seen obstreperous class clowns who have to be disruptive centers of attention, even if the attention is disapproving. Most outgrow it by puberty. If I had been the moderator, I would have invited the appallingly immature Vice President of the United States to excuse himself to go sit in the hall by himself until he could get himself under control and remember his big-boy manners.

In the past I have had to change channels when Zero came on the TV, while leaving Buffoon Biden on the screen. Now, I have to flip to the real cartoon channel, whenever either of them appear.

The thought of a President Biden is extremely scary. Happy Halloween everyone!

Reply 10 - Posted by: Hazymac, 10/12/2012 11:10:53 AM     (No. 8928201)

Biden's inappropriate grins, mugging, audible heavy breathing, constant interruptions, and well rehearsed lies were offputting in the extreme, but not unexpected from this no class character. Concerning the phony smile of an authority figure whose authority is in serious doubt (and he knows it), last week I recalled a passage from Tom Wolfe's Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers. I reprise this passage below:

"'Ha-unnnnh,' says the Flak Catcher. It is one of those laughs that starts out as a laugh but ends up like he got hit in the stomach halfway through. It's the first assault on his dignity. So he breaks into his s***-eating grin, which is always phase two. Why do so many bureaucrats, deans, preachers, college presidents, try to smile when the mau-mauing starts? It's fatal, this smiling. When some bad dude is challenging your manhood, your smile just proves that he is right and you are chickens***--unless you are a bad man yourself with so much heart that you can make that smile say, 'Just keep on talking, sucker, because I'm gonna count to ten and then squash you.'"

With his unserious alligator mouth and hummingbird ass, Biden didn't squash anything last night other than the perception (frustratingly repeated by Brit Hume and Chris Wallace) that he's ever been a nice guy. In my old neighborhood a character like Biden would have been beaten up, stripped, tied to a tree, and left there for the motherlovin' ants.

Oy! -that empty laugh & humorless grimace! Maybe Biden recently had some very expensive dental work done & he wanted everyone to take notice. A friend that I had not seen for a while stopped by once, and as we were talking I noticed for the first time what a leering, lipless but dazzling grin she had. Guessing that she now had dentures, & not wanting to be rude, I tried not to notice. She finally said, "Haven't you noticed my new veneers?" I couldn't help it - I said with some relief, "Oh! So that's what they are!"

(Op Ed 8/20/2012)

There are worse things for a politician than lack of insight – and the person selected by Barack Obama to be a heartbeat away from the presidency exhibits many of them. Joe Biden has problems with impulse control and reality testing; increasingly, his utterances suggest some sort of dementia.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
