Forceful Martha Raddatz
draws praise as moderator

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 10/12/2012 9:55:52 AM

NEW YORK — ABC’s Martha Raddatz took a forceful approach to moderating the vice presidential debate on Thursday, winning many positive reviews from instant pundits on social media but some complaints from Republicans. Her performance was a clear contrast to PBS’ Jim Lehrer’s work in last week’s debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney. Lehrer let the presidential candidates talk almost freely, while Raddatz sought to be more specific and keep things under control. Raddatz, a foreign policy correspondent at ABC News since 1999, was moderating her first vice presidential or presidential debate.

Comments:
What a shock. The leftists at APee give her praise. s/o Yeah, she was forceful against Paul Ryan. She continually cut off his answers. Biden remained untouched and was allowed to continue his disgraceful, rude behavior.

She certainly moderated Ryan. Her wedding guest's running mate, not so much.

To have this bone thin anorexic woman try to be fair was expecting way too much.

Seems that the only way the left can sorta win is if they control the situation, because if they are left to discuss they can't. Sorry but Raddatz was not impressive and in fact quite annoying to us mere citizens.

Her question about appologizing for a couple of troops peeing on Al Queda bodies... why did she ask Ryan that? He isn't second in line as CinC, he isn't the supposed foreign affairs expert, he isn't the one bragging about how many times he's been on the scene.

Martha Raddatz interrupted Ryan and argued with him so often that he actually asked her at one point, "Are you throwing in with him?"

Raddatz is a disgrace. She exercised no control over Big mouth Biden at all, and should have give Ryan extra time and a guarantee that he wouldn't be interrupted.

She is a major zero.

It was two against one! She was the worst moderator in history! She has that Diane Sawyer-like breathiness and hair flip. She is a leftist and clearly favored Biden. She had it in her power to say, "...with all due respect Mr. Vice President, please let your opponent answer the questions without interruptions and I will do the same thing if he interrupts you..." She chose not to do that because she had an agenda.

Yep, she was a moderator all right, moderating Ryan and giving Joe a pass. I'm convinced she and Biden got together and plotted/planned to keep Ryan down and interrupt him making points, IT WAS OBVIOUS. The timing of Joe's 82 interruptions, and Raddatz's interruptions as Ryan was finalizing his points...and this is why the Libs, sicko's that they strive to be, are happy.

Praise? Huh?
Au contraire, Ass Press... Biden's act was far more cringe-worthy than praiseworthy.

Somebody with more patience than me needs to run some stats on that debate. We know Bite-me interrupted eighty some times. But how many times did Raddatz:
- allow each candidate to complete their answer?
- interrupt each candidate?
- press or follow up question each candidate?
- switch topic away from interrupted before they were done?
Any other stats???

We need to color code these various events on a time line. I firmly believe that a definite pattern will emerge of Biden and Ryan getting distinctly different treatment from Raddatz. And the proof would be objective... Just the stats, Ma'm.

Subjectively viewed, she interjected herself WAY too much into the debate. She did have a challenge with Biden out of control. But her response to this mayhem seemed to be to throttle Ryan more, not troublesome Biden, for some curious reason. I was very unhappy with her moderating. It was like a basketball game where the ref's were calling the game too close. And calling one-sided. I think if she would have backed off, Ryan would have HAD to step forward more assertively and backed Biden off more firmly. He brought up Biden's behavior once, but he seems mainly eager to get his zinger out --- ''I know you're under duress...'' than to actually get Biden to just cool it. As mentioned by some pundit, if Ryan HAD made a firm stand to settle Biden down, it would have been the most played clip of the entire debate.
