Now there's more ice at South
Pole than ever (So much for
global warming thawing Antarctica!)

Daily Mail [UK], by David Derbyshire

Ice around the South Pole has expanded to cover a record area, scientists revealed yesterday--a month after saying that the North Pole had lost an unprecedented amount of its ice. Researchers say--rather confusingly--that both occurrences are down to the ‘complex and surprising’ effects of global warming. The record Antarctic sea ice cover was revealed in satellite images from the US National Snow and Ice Data Center in Colorado. At the end of the southern winter in September, ice covered 7.51million square miles of sea--more than at any time since records began in 1979. For the last 30 years the

But cooler temperatures and more ice are actually a sign of global warming. So are higher temperatures and vanishing ice. Everything is a sign of global warming.

If you're confused, don't worry -- just hand your money and power over to the government and let the experts take care of everything.

You have to understand that Global Warming will cause the average global temperature to go down, or up, or stay the same, for long or short periods of time. That should pretty much cover all bases.

Fall is here, winter is approaching. It is time for all the global warming idiots to crawl inside their caves an hibernate until late spring, whereupon they will emerge from their slumber and comment on what a mild winter it was, regardless of the actuality, and how this proves their global warming theory. As every successive day becomes warmer as summer approaches, their rhetoric becomes more frantic, more insistent, until late august when it will reach a fevered pitch. "The sky is falling". In the coming weeks, as the temperatures gradually decline, so too do their incessant calls for action on global warming, until finally, fall is here...

Well, since there has been no warming for over 15 years it's inaccurate to say global warming has caused much of anything.

I, for one, am extremely glad that climate has changed (and probably will continue to do so) because otherwise my house would be underneath tons of glacial ice. For those who live on or vacation on Long Island, Block Island, Cape Cod, Nomans Land, Martha's Vineyard, or Nantucket you can also be happy the glaciers melted and created these lands in their wake.

Listening to the climate Alarmists has become far more than annoying.

On the final day of enrollment this year for medical insurance under the Affordable Care Act, the federal government website that runs the program went offline. Again. And White House Press Secretary Jay Carney found himself in the awkward position of taking a victory lap--citing enrollment totals of more than 6 million--while last-minute customers were frozen out of the system. Carney appeared rattled at the beginning of his daily press briefing, committing an unforced error that quickly attracted scorn on social media. ´Six out of ten people without insurance can get insurance for $100 a day or less,´ he said,

Drinking Earl Grey tea could help guard against heart disease, it has emerged, after a study found that bergamot extract--a key ingredient in the hot drink--is just as effective as statins at controlling cholesterol. Scientists believe bergamot, a fragrant Mediterranean citrus fruit which gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive flavour, can significantly lower cholesterol. They say it contains enzymes known as HMGF (hydroxy methyl glutaryl flavonones) which can attack proteins in the body known to cause heart disease. The study found bergamot could even be as effective as statins, used to control cholesterol but which can have side effects in

Fights started outside French town halls tonight as they came under the control of the far-right National Front for the first time following dramatic gains in local elections. On Saturday I wrote a Comment piece for the Telegraph arguing that one of the consequences of the trendy, progressive approach to education favoured by the Left-wing "experts" who still control Britain´s public education system is that children from low income families leave school unable to compete with their more affluent peers. I argued that the only way to level the playing field is to return to a more traditional approach--one of the reasons the poorest 10 percent of teenagers in Shanghai perform at the same level in international maths tests as the richest 20 percent in Britain. British troops will take part in wargames in the Baltics in order to reassure Ukraine in the face of a potential Russian invasion, the Defence Secretary said today. Philip Hammond said Britain would stand by its Nato allies as he warned Russia may attempt to seize more territory. He said claims from senior generals that defence cuts had left the Armed Forces “hollowed out” are “nonsense”, and insisted withdrawing armoured regiments from Germany to bases in Britain would make them more effective. Lord Dannatt, the former head of the Armed Forces, last week suggested 3,000 troops should remain in Germany

If all the recent scare stories about sugar in food drove you to drink, it turns out that it wasn’t necessarily the best place to go. Research conducted for The Sunday Telegraph reveals that a single pint of cider contains as much sugar as the World Health Organisation recommends should be an individual’s daily limit. Scrumpy, it seems, is best avoided if you are on a diet. Worryingly high quantities of the sweet stuff were also found in Baileys Irish Cream and sherry, although, admittedly, those are drinks that tend to be limited to a single glass: rarely does anyone

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck near Los Angeles late on Friday, rattling a wide swath of Southern California, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of injury from the quake, centered outside suburban La Habra, about 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles, however, families at Disneyland were left stuck on rides as hundreds of stores and homes were ruined by damage. The area was initially hit by a 3.6 earthquake earlier in the evening before the larger blast was felt. The surrounding area was then hit by at least 40 aftershocks following the powerful quake that hit shortly after 9pm.

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.
