Chris Wallace Shocked By Biden’s
‘Disrespectful,’ ‘Openly
Contemptuous’ Debate Treatment Of Ryan

Mediaite, by Noah Rothman

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 10/11/2012 11:46:37 PM

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace slammed Vice President Joe Biden’s demeanor at Thursday night’s vice presidential debate against GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan. Wallace said that he was shocked by how “openly contemptuous” Biden appeared to act towards Ryan and that he thought Biden’s behavior lacked historical precedent. “I think I’ve watched almost every presidential and vice presidential debate since the first four Kennedy/Nixon debates in 1960 and, thinking back over the last few minutes, I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen a debate in which one participant was as openly disrespectful

I agree. It was an embarrassing display. I'd be ashamed, but we know Obama and Biden have no shame. I thought it was interesting that while Biden did not answer the question put to him about the nastiness of elections (in fairness, Ryan didn't answer the question, either), Biden answered it with his demeanor all evening. He and his ilk don't give a rat's patootie about civility or truthfulness or integrity. He's a loser. And a liar. Disgraceful.

Wallace is right. It looked like Biden was trying to diminish Ryan with derisive laughter but ended up diminishing himself.

It was completely disrespectful, but it got the base fired up. Considering the base consists of almost the entire msm, it might have been damaging to R&R.

Agree #3. Rather distressing trying to get on Lucianne during debates. Obviously a popular site. May need another fundraiser for additional servers. Of course Wallace is 'shocked'. The rest of us - not so much. After the pathetic Obama/Romney debate Biden was clearly coached to come out swinging and predictably overplayed it and came off like an obnoxious loudmouth jerk -actually laughing about the nuclear threat from Iran. No wonder I don't sleep well.

Anyone with more functioning brain cells than Biden should be shocked by this abhorrent behavior by the man supposedly second in command to the nation. And if Ldot goes down for each debate because it can't handle the load now, what is going to happen on election day?

Reply 12 - Posted by: Safari Man, 10/12/2012 1:40:53 AM     (No. 8927437)

I cannot imagine anyone thinking Biden was presidential in this debate, but then I think of the images of the people who stormed the capital building in Wisconsin and those at the OWS rallies... We have about 47% of the country who are too infantile to be trusted with voting.

If Obama wins, we are in serious serious trouble because the demographics are NOT improving.

Reply 13 - Posted by: Illinois Mom, 10/12/2012 1:59:22 AM     (No. 8927447)

Biden supposedly had the upper hand because he has participated in so many major debates. He just looked like a complete jerk.

Apparently the 'big debater" never learned anything.

I guess if you spew nonsense, Social Security in particular,(also...he got that 47% thing in quickly)and then "chuckle" at the "stupidity" of your opponent, interrupting his every point it makes you the "winner."

That moderator was horrible as well. Why didn't she tell Biden to be quiet while Ryan was speaking? Isn't that the moderator's job?

Reply 14 - Posted by: suedotsue, 10/12/2012 2:05:12 AM     (No. 8927452)

Another article said Chris Wallace thought Biden won the debate despite the headline about Wallace thinking Biden was rude. Biden's methods worked. Wallace's indignation is just conversation if he gave the debate to Biden. Wallace also implicitly gives Obama permission to be rude to Romney next time because that's what wins.

The visiting Dem's starting pitchman Barry had real lousy stuff. He got into into trouble immediately and got clobbered by the home team who batted around in the first inning and ran up the score. An impressive display of power and skill. And a completely embarrassing outing for proud Barry who had scouted so promisingly. So they called in this wiley old reliever Joey. When manager Axelgrease handed Joey the ball, he told him he wanted some respect from the opposition. He told Joey not to just brush 'em back but to give them a little chin music and knock 'em down. Which Joey proceeded to do with gusto and mocking them incessantly with his broad smile. Old Joey was certainly spoiling for a brawl, but to the opposition's credit they kept their cool. Very professional. But the rookie plate umpire's bad calls against the home team and failure to control Joey further upset the crowd.
With this unprecedented display, the fans were irate... They threw stuff on the field. So much so that they had to call the game and Joey's team forfeited the game. A morose and beaten starter Barry just sat in the dugout and stared out at the mess on the field. Manager Axelgrease was fit to be tied and stormed off into the clubhouse, knocking over chairs and kicking the Gatorade containers.

If presidential politics ever involved time travel, President Obama might be in a little trouble. If an election between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama were held today, 58% would vote for Reagan over Obama, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Though when the field is narrowed to people ages 18-34 -- those either too young to have known Reagan as president or too young to remember much -- the gap shrinks to 51% in favor of Reagan.

With all due respect to Mother Jones´s conversation-leaker-in-chief David Corn, the recordings published today of a conversation between Sen. Mitch McConnell and some consultants disparaging Ashley Judd is not news. It´s the sausage being made. We´ve got full background here, but the toplines are this: Corn got hold of a conversation apparently recorded during a presentation by consultants to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell´s reelection campaign. The consultants were opposition researchers, hired by the campaign to ferret out damaging information about actress Ashley Judd, who at one point considered running against McConnell.

A homeless man, oblivious to President Obama’s passing motorcade, took BB gun practice in the nearby woods and refused to drop his weapon when confronted by Connecticut cops, officials said today. Obama was speaking yesterday at the University of Hartford when police, stationed along the president’s route to Bradley International Airport, heard noises coming from a nearby wooded area around 5:50 p.m., said Bloomfield police Capt. Stephen Hajdasz. A detective from the neighboring town of Simsbury ordered the man — identified as 27-year-old Joseph Stravinskas — to drop what appeared to be a rifle, according to Hajdasz.
