New York Times: Nothing 'significantly
new' in 'politicized' Libya hearings

Politico, by Dylan Byers

Original Article

New York Times Managing Editor Dean Baquet said today he doesn't see "anything significantly new" in yesterday's congressional hearings on Libya, while both he and the paper's executive editor Jill Abramson suggested the hearings were politicized and therefore not worthy of front-page coverage. Baquet and Abramson's remarks come in response to criticism from the paper's own public editor, Margaret Sullivan, who objected to the editors decision not run its story about the hearings on today's front page. Both the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal gave yesterday's hearings

Glad to see the NYT continuing to destroy itself. They have lied at least since the 1930's when they reported how great communism was in Russia under Stalin.

The very last NY Times editorial, read by its last remaining reader, will be its endorsement of the reelection of Michelle Obama as president.

Paper will cease to exist after one final exhortation that the best person for ending the 12 year depression and World War III is President Michelle Obama.

When I realized last week that the administration was actually going to take the tack of blaming Romney/Ryan and ignoring the the attack itself (after sticking to the lame line of a cleric-approved video nobody saw long after it had reached its stale date) and stick with the dead bodies are just "bumps in the road" schtick, I wondered if the American people would stand for it.

As if the rape, the murders and the multiply ignored requests for security and the regimes subsequent lies weren't "significant" enough? Oh, I forgot, the NYT didn't think they were significant enough. Neither, apparently, does Obama. We'll see if the public is awake enough to care.

I watched that entire hearing and was sick afterwards. Didn't think anything could make me sicker until yesterday. Even after the slaughter which our government watched real time on a video camera (and the video is "unavailable" to the congress)and then re-played in my head, the casual way obama treated this, the way the people around him are treating it, this is a horror show and has to stop on November 6, 2012.

Not true #1. The NY Times would report America going to hell. and the headline would look something like this:

Then they would editorialize on how if the Republicans would just get out of the way, Obama would fix it.

Whether Mitt Romney becomes the 45th president or not, Politico's Jonathan Martin insists that the Republican Party is on the verge of a looming crisis. Sticking with the same overgeneralized racist narrative, it is basically a 'fact' at this point that the GOP's conservative ideology and a lack of diversity will ultimately lead to its downfall. Conversely, the Democratic Party is poised to dominate in future elections. Nevermind that we heard this before in 2006 and 2008, with Clinton acolyte James Carville forecasted 40 years in the wilderness for the GOP. No, Martin insists that demography is destiny,

President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out. As it turns out, the empty seats didn’t look exactly “scattered.” They looked like substantial portions of the upper bowl of the arena, according to photos tweeted by those in attendance:

Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday struggled to draw 1,000 people at two campaign events in Colorado, one of the most important swing states this election. Republicans in Colorado have said they have not seen this much enthusiasm for the top of a Republican ticket in a decade, which is a contrast from Democrats, who are seeing a diminished level of enthusiasm from 2008. At an event in Englewood, Colorado, Biden's crowd "fell just short of a thousand people"--while an event with Romney drew 18,000--and another Biden event drew 1,200 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Today, speaking in Concord, New Hampshire, trying to look bipartisan, Barack Obama made this incredible statement: “As long as I’m president, I’ll work with anybody.” He can’t be serious. For a start, let’s take a look at immigration reform. In June of this year, Sen. John McCain, who has always championed bipartisanship, said bitterly: “This idea that this president or his people reached out to me is patently false. To somehow allege that I didn’t somehow respond to their overtures, that’s patently false. That’s their narrative, and I understand their narrative, but it’s not substantiated by the facts.”
