Several Democratic candidates in recent months have been hesitant to voice support for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), who, if Democrats retain control of the Senate, must be reelected majority leader when Congress begins a new session next year. Much like the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository he so opposes, Reid seems to be toxic. Reid’s tenure as majority leader in the upper house of Congress has been notable for his iron-fisted control, which has drawn indignation from Republicans. However, in recent months, Reid has also been making headlines as a rabid, partisan attack dog

Reid has prevented a "real" budget from being sent to POTUS after being cobbled in the house for 46 months so far. IMHO, the DEM caucus of the senate can do better in picking a Senate leader...that is if they have a majority next term. Also IMHO, the REP's can do better than having Boehner(?) as Speaker of the House. He is about as dynamic as a snail crawling on a hot sidewalk.

Amen, #2. And I'd also go as far as to suggest McConnell be replaced. Talk about dynamism! (is that a word?) We have some dynamic representatives and senators that were elected in 2010. Let's use them and put these old bulls out to retirement.

Why would the 'Rats "have to" reelect Reid? Is there some rule that says once elected to Majority Leader that position is his for as long as he wants it? OTOH, if the Republicans take the Senate ....

Anyone paying attention can see that the despicable hairy reid has severe mental problems. Seriously. No one can froth at the mouth with lying accusations, coming from "imaginary friends", about someone like Mitt Romney and not have a problem with reality. I agree, Mitch McConnell, along with John Boehner HAVE to be replaced after we win this Election.. It is time for strong GOP leaders in Congress and neither of them will ever stand up to the demonrats. Too busy "going along to get along". Done and done.

Democrats had the opportunity in January 2011 to NOT put Reid and Pelosi back into power. Instead, the dems demonstrated that they were not in fact serious about governing, but that they were only interested in pushing their own partisan agenda after having been thoroughly defeated at the ballot box.

I havnt seen anything that suggests that the dems have learned anything or have any plans too change. ALl this wishy washy support for Reid says one thing and one thing only. Dems know that openly supporting Reid before the election. After being re-elected, they will "have more flexibility"

Totally agree that as soon as they are safely elected, they will support Reid. The fact that they are unwilling to say so before the election just goes to show what spineless wimps they are.

From the article: Manchin also hedged on the question of supporting Reid during his 2010 campaign—but supported Reid in the end.

He is a Dem. He will vote like a Dem. And he'll support dim Reid for leader.

The D.C. Abortion Fund (DCAF) is offering a coat hanger pendant to all who donate $10 or more a month to the non-profit organization that gives money to women of D.C., Maryland, and Virginia who cannot afford to pay for abortions on their own. DCAF states that they hope to make “’choice’ a reality because we believe that a woman’s right to health care should not depend on her wallet.” They offer grants to low-income women on a confidential basis. The coat hanger seems to be a part of their logo, as it is also prominently featured on the main

Vice President Joe Biden wandered a little off course on a trip down memory lane today. “Fifteen years ago, I was honored, as the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, to lead the fight for Poland’s admission into NATO,” Biden said in Warsaw during a visit designed to reassure America’s Eastern European allies in the wake of Russia’s move to take control of Crimea. The only problem: Biden wasn’t chairman back then. It was Sen. Jesse Helms, a North Carolina Republican, who guided the committee and launched the floor debate on granting NATO accession to Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Biden did

… actually, Mitt Romney doesn’t, not explicitly anyway. However, the context of this op-ed from Barack Obama’s 2012 opponent could not be clearer. After Obama and Democrats ridiculed his worldview in that campaign, calling it a relic of the 1980s, Romney warns that what America and the West need now is leadership that anticipates events and sees the world realistically so as to seize opportunities when they arise: Why, across the world, are America’s hands so tied? A large part of the answer is our leader’s terrible timing. In virtually every foreign-affairs crisis we have faced these past five years, there was

MURRAY, KY - When Texas Governor Rick Perry comes to Kentucky, people like to remind him of Jim Bowie, the Kentucky native who died at the Alamo during the Texas Revolution. Perry told a crowd of about 300 Republicans at the Lincoln Reagan Dinner at Murray State University on Saturday night that Bowie was willing to give up everything for freedom. He said he hopes there is a new generation of young men and women that are willing to give up everything to change Kentucky. One thing Perry does not want to change: Kentucky´s senior U.S. senator. She and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have been on the national stage for more than two decades -- traveling from Arkansas to the White House to the Senate to the 2008 campaign trail and finally to the State Department. During that time, every look and utterance from Hillary has been examined, then examined again, then analyzed, then overanalyzed. That´s why this series of photos -- shot by LIFE magazine in 1969 as part of a feature on outstanding college students -- is so fascinating. It captures
