Bring on the racks of “pants on fire” fact checks. Unload an army of Pinocchios to debunk the most egregious of the many untruths we’ve heard since the 9-11-2012 attack in Libya. In what is surely the most jaw-dropping of the many fudges, misrepresentations and outright lies by the Obama administration in handling the Libya attack that killed four Americans, we now hear from the State Department that it never linked the attack and death of four Americans in Libya to the anti-Muslim movie. I bet this comes as a bit of a surprise since you saw U.S. officials say just that for days.
Comments: Did they really think the truth would never bubble to the surface?
One of the most surprising facts to come out today was that in Libya, as well as many other countries, our own security people are not allowed to carry guns, because that would violate the laws of the host country. (I believe Charlene Lamb, undersecretary of something or other, said that.) So we have to hire citizens of the host countries to do the guarding. And I suppose that's adequate in England, or France, or Holland, but certainly not in a country full of filthy islamofascist terrorist pigs.
I do not know HOW Americans can be so calm when it is plainly proven that this administration LIES to us. My sympathy and apology goes out to the families of the 4 murdered Americans that was covered up to save the arses of worthless, useless people such as Hillary, Obama and Rice. They have blood on their hands, and it is dripping down their chins as they play a game of politics.
Quoting the AP report in the article: "The State Department says it never concluded that an attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya was simply a protest gone awry..."
Quoting Danielle Pletka in the article: "And lying about the lie pushes the State Department into the realm of farce.”
But they are NOT lying about the lie. Remarkably, the State Department is finally telling us the TRUTH about the lie. You just have to keep the negatives and the double negatives straight. Their obfuscation lies in their leaving unsaid the second half of the confession.
Properly articulated, what State is saying goes like this: We NEVER concluded that the attack that killed Ambassador Stevens was a protest gone awry, and when we told you that we DID conclude that, we were lying to you.
The question then becomes: what was the lie intended to cover up? Security lapses aren't a big enough issue to justify all this. Cover for that would have been easily enough accomplished by sacrificeing some low level security people. No. This was bigger. Much bigger. Big enough for the President and the Sec State to lie to the American people, and stick with it for a week. It bought time.
I still say they knew about the demonstrations beforehand, were going to link them to American evangelicals via the Florida minister, and cap it with Obama's speech at the UN for some foreign policy bump before the debates. But alqueda's attack out of the blue messed it all up. Sure it's nutsy stuff, but look at their laughable reactions to Obama's debate fiasco. He thought he won. Look at the cockamamie campaign they are running. It's outrageous enough to be true.
In places like that, how can anyone tell a apart a riot, a wedding, a grand opening sale at Achmed's, a revolution, a counter-revolution, Friday prayers, a terrorist attack, or the shutting-down of a girl's school?
I remember saying when the "video explanation" for the attack on our embassy in Libya first came out it would be looked back upon in the same way we look back on the "Koran being flushed down the toilet in Gitmo" story - as phony as a three dollar bill. We all know that both Hillary and Øbama are shameless phonies and liars so the phony storyline they came up with was as predictable as rain. Now I know what Rush means when he says he knows these people better than they know themselves. These people are self-deluded and so predictable. Øbama has become a caricature of himself as pResident, the same way Keith Olbermann became a caricature of himself as a newsman on MSNBC. Both Øbama and Keith are infantile. Keith was fired from his job. Let's do the same for Øbama this November.
Missing in all the Libya lies and noise is the question:
WHAT were Amb Stevens and retired SEALS (now private contractors to US) doing in Benghazi?
I believe the answer was that they were trying to negotiate for the return of the arms that Obama gave the Libyan rebels during the overthrow of Khadaffi. These arms are now in A-Q and other terrorists' hands.
Barry's Libyan Fast & Furious Caper. Further, I strongly suspect that the weapons used to kill the 4 Americans were made in the USA.
Find proof of that, and then get out the pitchforks and tar and feathers for Choom Boy.
I am so grateful for Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California for bringing things out of the darkness into the light. He takes seriously the responsibility of oversight of the executive branch and the balancing of powers. Too many of our politicians only concern themselves with retaining their power and influence by winning their next election. Issa is actually applying his power and influence on behalf of the people who elected him. I also send a big thank you to his district in California for sending a man such as this at this critical time in history. #7 thanks for making me laugh this morning while reading about such a serious topic.
I liked Rep. Gowdy's parsing of the phrase "in fact" -- used to blithely by "Dr." Rice. Said he didn't know what it meant in diplomatic circles, but in the law, "in fact" means it is a fact, and it's not subject to equivocation.
She is another Affirmative Action charlatan, in way over her head.
The Democrats claimed that it was OK for a President to lie to the country about sex because everyone lies about sex. But everyone does not lie about Americans being murdered by our enemies. No, this time there is no excuse.
According to Debbie Blabbermouth, it's fake but accurate.

Obama/Jarret's Achilles heel is that they thought they could superimpose the Chicago way on the national stage. In Chicago there is NO opposition anywhere to check the corruption and the criminal activity embedded in the local government. President Kardashian is just naive, stupid, and arrogant enough to believe he could co-op the entire federal bureaucracy to lie down and bend to his will because, you know, he's the "One".
Near the end of this article, Leon Panetta publicly scolds Hillary Clinton, although he only refers to 'the State Department.' The Clintons will not appreciate his questions. .... Wonder what he is doing here. Covering his own butt? Most likely.
So, what are the "news" people saying? That the testimony by two of the witnesses, was just bad? Or they were too nice? Or that the other two (the two who actually were in Libya and knew about the security situation)were lying? Which old canard will zero trot out?
There is a method to his madness. Yes it is madness. Obama has been showing more of his Muslim side lately. His speech to the United Nations was a clear indication of his thinking. "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." Pretty clear to me.
He then took the picture of the Christian YouTube video producer, in chains and under guard, and waved it at the Muslim world in solidarity. He also had a bloated Hillary appear on Arabic TV to make a groveling apology to the Muslim masses.
This may get interesting. Americans are no longer lions in their eyes. We're in retreat and our dhimmitude is becoming apparent.
I for one will be very happy with Hillary out of that position. Never had confidence in the so called smartest woman in the world, Visually, she looks fat, dumpy, depressed, speaks like a robot winding down, and gives the impression of poor hygiene.
This is a mutiny by part of the career bureaucracy. Political concerns trumped security concerns and one of their own- a career diplomat- got assassinated as a result. A Big Lie was then told to protect Obama's claims about Al Qaeda being a spent force. A lot of the career types at State and across the rest of the intelligence community are now refusing to go along with that lie for both professional and personal reasons. Like would you be willing to ever accept foreign assignment again with these fools supposedly covering your back?
As was noted above. Washington DC isn't Chicago where Democrat hacks rule in perpetuity. There is only so much blame the politicians can lay on the bureaucracy.
I was surprised by Dennis Kucinich when he was questioning. Dems were not treated kindly. I am worried about the missiles to take down aircraft that are in that country... The blackman in the WH is toast. I keep calling him the blackman because I have been reminded he is by the libs. Don't want to slight him
I have been wondering if the original plan was hatched with the cooperation of the leaders of the Libyan faction Zippy wants to control the country. The plan being to allow an attack on the consulate which was supposed to result in the capture of the ambassador and his aides. Then Zippy would act all macho and do something dramatic in cooperation with said Libyan leaders to gain the release of the hostages. Presto! Obama gets a big foriegn policy success just in time for the election and the Libyan faction he favors demonstrate they are in control and gain power, prestige, and probably aid money. The press would run with stories of the Obama's strong and brilliant foriegn policy skills all the way to the election. But the plan fell apart when A.Q. infiltrated the attackers and either deliberatly killed our guys or the off duty seals who weren't part of the script made it into a real fight that ended in with their deaths. As usual, Zippy had a scapegoat ready in the form of the film, which had been around for months. This would explain why Zippy wasn't even remotely concerned when first informed of the attack and why they went straight to the film excuse when things went bad. Ambassador Stevens was just a pawn.
Marzon....your theory does answer several pesky details.
At the hearings yesterday they argued the merits of six or twelve or eighteen security agents at the outpost but they never really addressed the question of how there came to be ZERO....except for the unexpected Seals.
I'd like to know what happened to the diary? That went away very quickly. It was my understanding that he mailed it to his family and told them to turn it over to the media if he didn't survive 9/11. Too bad they didn't give it to FOX instead of CNN.
Zimbabwe´s presidential election was a "huge farce", PM Morgan Tsvangirai has said, alleging vote-rigging by rival President Robert Mugabe´s camp. At a news conference, Mr Tsvangirai said that Wednesday´s poll was "null and void". The largest observer group earlier said up to a million people were prevented from voting. Mr Mugabe´s party - which is claiming a victory - denied the accusations, saying the voting went smoothly. The head of the African Union observer mission, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, said his initial assessment was that the vote was free and fair. Other regional observers praised
ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive interview with Geo News senior anchor, Hamid Mir, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and Al-Qaeda were violating the sovereignty of Pakistan. When asked about US drone attacks, the US Secretary of State replied that drone strikes were conducted in the defence of the United States. He also told Hamid Mir that the US was decreasing and not completely withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan. Kerry said the issue of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was not raised by the Pakistani government. Speaking on the situation in Egypt, Kerry said
President Barack Obama told House Democrats Wednesday that his administration was looking at measures to help at-risk children, particularly minority youth — a move that comes in light of the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case earlier this month. (Snip) Obama told Cummings that it was a “good time” to examine disparities in the criminal justice system, and efforts to help black, Asian, and Hispanic men and boys. The president added that officials need to look at what can be done to aid at-risk youth in general. “We’re doing that,” Obama said, according to a source
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles receiver Riley Cooper has apologized for using a racial epithet in a video that surfaced Wednesday and immediately went viral. In what looks to be a video shot with a cellphone, an agitated Cooper says, “I will jump that fence and fight every … in here,” using a slur for a black person. The video, which reportedly was shot June 9 at a Kenny Chesney concert at Lincoln Financial Field, first appeared on CrossingBroad.com. Cooper, who is a key player for a team that just lost receiver Jeremy Maclin to a season-ending knee injury

President Barack Obama promised congressional Democrats behind closed doors Wednesday that he will fight to help retake the House of Representatives in 2014 and urged them to close ranks with the White House to defend Obamacare, congressional aides said. "No one is more mindful than me for the need for Nancy Pelosi to be speaker again," a Democratic leadership aide quoted Obama as telling House Democrats during the private meeting. Obama, rallying his troops ahead of lawmakers’ five-week August recess, also vowed not to bow to Republican demands to tie government spending
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama´s decision to delay implementation of part of his healthcare reform law will cost $12 billion and leave a million fewer Americans with employer-sponsored health insurance in 2014, congressional researchers said Tuesday. The report by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office is the first authoritative estimate of the human and fiscal cost from the administration´s unexpected one-year delay announced July 2 of the employer mandate - a requirement for larger businesses to provide health coverage for their workers or pay a penalty. The analysts said the delay will add to the cost of "Obamacare´s" insurance-coverage
A United Airlines employee and his wife face grand theft and burglary, accused of stealing luggage of passengers whose flight was diverted away from San Francisco International Airport because of the Asiana Airlines crash, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Hawaii was bracing for tropical storm Flossie Monday, even as the storm began to weaken. According to the National Weather Service, the eye of the storm is headed directly for Maui and Oahu, with landfall expected Monday. Here are the horse-race numbers: City Council Speaker Christine Quinn: 27% Public Advocate Bill de Blasio: 21% Former Comptroller Bill Thompson: 20% Anthony Weiner: 16% The numbers for Weiner are brutal. By a 53-40 margin, likely Democratic primary voters say he should drop out of the race.
Fort Collins police have asked local religious organizations to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior after a self-proclaimed “Islamist jihadist” threatened Mormons and Catholics “would be destroyed” in the next two weeks, a memo sent by authorities said. (Snip) Rev. Steven Voss said the Archdiocese of Denver shared with him on Friday the Fort Collins Police Services memo and reading its words of caution made his “blood run cold.” But between Sunday Masses at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Ave., Voss said he’s “pretty confident” he and his parishioners won’t have an interaction
American public discourse about Islam is filled with essentialist paranoia, fear, and the commentary of people who not only don´t know much about the topic but are often dismissive of people who do. But the reception that scholar Reza Aslan received on Fox last Friday was a new twist: Muslim views of Christianity are inherently suspect, it seems. Mr. Aslan, who has a PhD in the sociology of religion from UCSB and a masters in theological studies from Harvard, is promoting his new book "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth" and was on with Fox religion correspondent
Colin Powell has admitted to exchanging ´very personal´ emails with a Romanian diplomat but denies having an affair with the much younger woman after a hacker threatened to release their intimate messages. The 76-year-old retired general told the Smoking Gun that he met Corina Cretu, 45, roughly 10 years ago when she was working as an assistant to the president of Romania. She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.
Mark Levin, who hosts one of America´s top radio talk shows and is considered by supporters to be the people´s pundit on the Constitution, is rallying his 8.5 million-strong audience to demand an historic convention of state governments to halt the "oppressive power" of the federal government. The author of two New York Times bestsellers on the threats to the Constitution, Levin hopes his latest, "The Liberty Amendments," out mid-August, will spark the state lawmakers to tap a rarely used Constitutional provision to institute measures that would brake President Obama´s use of executive orders, bar thousand-page laws and
CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assault by armed militants last September 11 in eastern Libya. Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy
The former commander of special operations in Northern Africa told a closed-door briefing today that he was largely detached from events the night of the Benghazi attack as he was traveling at the time. The testimony of Col. George H. Bristol, USMC, Former Commander, Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trans Sahara, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command Africa, had been eagerly anticipated by members of Congress. Originally, lawmakers had been told by the Defense Department that he had retired — the actual date is Aug. 1, an “administrative error” according to the Pentagon — and that they didn’t have

Arizona Sen. John McCain was the Republican Party´s 2008 presidential nominee and he still wants the keys to the Oval Office. But he is beginning to sound more like a fan of likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "She´s a rock star," he said in a newly released interview. "She has, maybe not glamour, but certainly the aura of someone widely regarded throughout the world," he added in a reference to her work as secretary of State. McCain, reportedly trying to win back his reputation as a GOP maverick, was asked by the New Republic
Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin
In preparation for the release of Oscar-bait film The Butler, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down with Parade magazine. The film chronicles a butler (Whitaker) who works in the White House through seven administrations. Winfrey plays the butler’s wife. In the interview, Winfrey explained her sadness that so few Americans know about the history of the civil rights movement: “They don’t know diddly-squat. Diddly-squat.” She then said of the historic use of the n-word, “I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last
If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."
