Blue State Digital:
Is it the linchpin of the Obama
campaign's foreign donor scandal?

Doug Ross @ Journal, by Doug Ross

Original Article

On 30 October 2008, I wrote about a bizarre idiosyncrasy I discovered in the Obama fundraising website, which was designed by a company named Blue State Digital. Will the innovations never cease? Yesterday I described several, eh, unique capabilities pioneered by the Obama campaign in the area of campaign contributions.(Snip) Anyhow, an anonymous tipster mentioned that checking out the source code of the Obama donation website... would reveal some interesting logic. Specifically that IP addresses of the donors can be easily spoofed through a hidden field in the form. The tipster's guess was (and I concur) that the Obama campaign

This is wonky stuff, but don't be intimidated. The bottom line is that Ross believes Blue State Digital appears to have been the nexus of Obama's fundraising "skullduggery" in both 2008 and 2012. Recently the Obama campaign switched its site so its links go through Akamai. Ross wonders if this last minute change had to do with the impending disclosure of this scandal.

Blue State Digital was founded in 2004 by former Howard Dean staffers, and runs Obama's digital operation

The real question, #1, is why don't they run an above-board donation site? Is it too much to ask for an honest election?

Sheesh, even their webmasters are amateurs...

Joe McGinniss, author of the books "The Selling of the President" and "Fatal Vision," has died at age 71, his friend and attorney said on Monday. McGinniss died of complications from prostate cancer at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, lawyer Dennis Holahan said in an email. McGinniss, who had been a Philadelphia newspaper columnist, gained national attention with the 1969 publication of "The Selling of the President." The bestseller gave a behind-the-scenes account of how advertising and media professionals packaged Republican presidential nominee Richard Nixon in his successful 1968 campaign for the White House. For his 1983 book "Fatal Vision," McGinniss

Moscow - Russian stock markets Monday crashed almost 10 percent and the ruble plunged to historic lows in value against the dollar and euro, as alarm grew over the potentially disastrous economic consequences of military intervention in Ukraine. Russia´s central bank hiked its main interest rate in an emergency move to stem capital flight and the losses for the ruble, amid what risks becoming at least Russia´s worst economic crisis since 2009. (Snip) Economists warned the move risks creating a litany of further trouble for the Russian economy, which is already battling chronically slow growth.

The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. So the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jet well into its flight Saturday morning over the South China Sea has led aviation experts to assume that whatever happened was quick and left the pilots no time to place a distress call. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network´s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network´s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

“I told you so.” Those have to be four of the most satisfying words in the English language. And Mitt Romney has earned the right to speak that short sentence, over and over again, whenever he chooses. Not that he would — it would be “unbecoming,” to use one of Romney’s old-fashioned words that in 2002 had the mandarins of Political Correctness harrumphing about his “sexism,” I believe the charge was that time. But these days, Mitt looks more and more prescient, and his critics ever more deluded. First of all, Russia has become “our number one geopolitical foe,” as he put it
