Biden’s Mission Impossible: Stop
Obama Freefall With Ryan Debate

Daily Beast, by David Freedlander

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 10/10/2012 6:00:14 AM

A few months ago, Thursday’s vice-presidential debate between Paul Ryan and Joe Biden had all the anticipation of a Meet the Press face-off between James Carville and Mary Matalin: high-profile surrogates to the campaign slinging mud and talking points with little chance of shifting an election whose results seemed increasingly clear. But a bumbling President Obama at last week’s debate has breathed new life into the Romney campaign and turned the Ryan-Biden debate into Slugfest, Part II. “The vice-presidential debate can stop the freefall of the incumbent,” said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Center

Of course Freelander found old Ryan opponents who gave him the line dejour: "Ryan lies"!

Let BiteMe Biden explain how our Ambassador got killed - no demonstrations, no movie.

Get the popcorn, folks.

Ryan should hammer him upside his head from every direction.

Biden wasn't picked by Obambi because he could be president but because he was a party hack that had the right amount of yes man in him. Party hack and yes man are not stellar qualifications for saving Obambi's behind.

The VP debate won't save him; how many average voters will even watch it? After the clock cleaning Obama got at the first debate, lots of people are just done.

Lots of us watching this one will just be political junkies hoping to enjoy another "Stand up, Chuck" moment. We already know who we're voting for.

My hope is that Plugs comes out over-confident, angry and "loaded for bear," not the congenial clown we're used to. I hope he starts right in calling Paul Ryan a liar, because if he does, Ryan won't have any option but to set him straight, as only Ryan can. BiteMe's mouth has been effectively duct taped for a week, and he's got lots to say; a volcano ready to erupt. He always has lots to say --most of it buffoonery.

I'm praying that's the way it goes.

Biden was picked for VP to get him out of the Senate. Biden assumed for years that he would be the next SoS in a Dem administration, but that spot would have to be given to Hillary to keep her and her husband from sniping at Obama for four years after an election defeat. Biden couldn't also be carping from the Senate, so he was put on the back of the ticket to keep him where he couldn't do much harm.

obama fell flat last week vs. Romney for a variety of reasons, not a small on is because obama has years of drug abuse behind him. Romney still has all of his brain cells.

Debate Biden/Ryan will be similar. Ole Joe is a famous alcohol abuser. His gaffes are legendary. Bordering on 70 will not help him either.

Biden will be on fire out of the box. He'll do his Obama's dead, GM is alive... He'll also talk about the place where he goes for breakfast in Delaware every week - that closed 7 years ago. Guess what Joe - Delaware doesn't want you back when you lose.

PS - Ryan should hammer him for "renting" space at his Delaware home to the Secret Service at a high rental rate. One would think that you would be happy to have your property protected and would not make money off your Secret Service detail! (especially during a trillion dollar deficit year!)

The Gang of Eight — four Democratic and four Republican U.S. senators — have been meeting behind closed doors since January to produce “comprehensive immigration reform.” That will mean a multi-thousand-page bill that no one reads. You know the saying “fool me twice.” Americans got bamboozled in 2010, when the 2,572 page Obama health law was rushed through Congress unread. The surprises buried in that law are causing havoc. Let’s not repeat the mistake of “comprehensive” reform. Congress needs to fix immigration one step at a time, passing individual bills in plain English on border security, hiring, access to benefits

WASHINGTON—Senate Democrats are expected to defeat on Thursday a Republican effort to block gun-control legislation, paving the way for the full chamber to take up the issue for the first time since the December shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. A bipartisan group of negotiators working on expanding background checks for gun buyers also appeared poised to announce a deal at a joint news conference Wednesday. An aide close to the talks said Tuesday night that they were working out legislative language. Democrats appeared to have the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster and bring the gun bill

Denver-based CNN journalist Jim Spellman says the total lack of media coverage of the legal travails faced by Fox News reporter Jana Winter for protecting her sources clearly demonstrates an anti-Fox News bias in the press. Spellman claimed in a tweet that if Winter, who faces a subpoena and potential contempt of court charges for protecting her sources, worked for the New York Times instead of Fox News, the case would be garnering far greater exposure. “Observation: If @janawinter, who may go to jail to protect sources, worked for @nytimes instead of @FoxNews the case would be huge,” Spellman tweeted Sunday night.

Obama will release his budget this week, and we already know that he´s going to try to stake out a treacherous "middleground" as he attempts to cast himself as a bold centrist, willing to stand apart from leftist Democrats. He´ll do so by, reportedly, introducing a Chained CPI, which is a way of cutting Social Security by using a different inflation measure that won´t rise as much. Liberals are already livid. Congressman Jerry Nadler — who is part of the Democratic party´s Progressive Caucus — slammed the reports in a comment made on Friday: I am quite concerned by reports

While politicians talk about expanding background checks for gun owners, I’m starting to think that what we really need are IQ tests for political officeholders. The only problem is, that might leave us with a lot of vacancies in Congress and America’s statehouses. The debacle over New York’s rushed-through gun bill is one example of what happens when enthusiasm meets stupid. But another is to be found in Rep. Secretary of State John Kerry is worth some $200 million, give or take a yacht. So his decision to slap a 5% pay cut on himself in solidarity with government employees squeezed by sequestration won’t likely hurt him much. But he’s saving taxpayers another way, too — if unintentionally. And it’s downright troubling. How else is Kerry saving money? He’s failing to hire folks to fill key spots at his agency. Terrific. Think about it: With the North Koreans threatening nuclear strikes against America — and Kerry himself preparing to visit South Korea this week — wouldn’t it be a tad helpful
