Obama: Progress We’ve Made
Should Give us Confidence

President Barack Obama told donors in San Francisco Monday that they should be proud of the progress made in the last four years, having referred to the unemployment rate dropping to the same point it was when he took office in January 2009. “We’ve got to look back at the progress we’ve made, and that should give us confidence,” Obama told the audience at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco. “But we have to understand we’ve got a lot more to do, and if we don’t do it, then change won’t happen.” Obama talked about several aspects

Comments:
What he really wanted to say is: we've made progress in the complete destruction of the USA. Yes, he sure has made progress in that regard. He is the spawn of Satan.

Don't look now libs, that unemployment number Obie touts is not the same number from four years ago. The background numbers that the BLS uses to calculate that number have all changed substantially in four years. And all of them if unchanged from four years ago would yield an unemployment percentage that would bear no relation to todays bogus rate.

Aren't a lot of those weaalthy donors in the SF Bay area largely educated at Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis?

Appears that they do not know mathematics, economics, or current events.

CA is the highest taxed State in the country and among the States with the highest unemployment.

Apparently they do not even have common sense. The country is reliving the Great Depression and O can blather that the "progress we've mad should give us confidence." Did any brain dead hippie liberal ask how the fact that CA business is leaving in droves, taking their assets and tax revenue with them?

I guess too much LSD in the 60s have fried their brains.

The 7.8% is nothing compared to what Obama's Labor Dept will publish just before the Nov 6 election. Pick a number, any number and they will swear to it - it's very simple, just drop another million who have given up looking for a job. Or if it's the household survey, publish an increase in the number of phone calls who claim thousands of new jobs created, no proof required.

Hassan al-Banna, the Muslim Brotherhood’s epigrammatic founder, was never at a loss for the chilling turn of phrase. His rally cry, the Brotherhood’s signature pledge that “Jihad is our way” and “Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope,” is the soundtrack of the “Arab Spring.” It speaks for a region over two-thirds of whose putative liberty lovers prefer to kill apostates than to abide freedom of conscience. Their embrace of the very sharia chauvinism that ties together Banna, bin Laden, the Saudi royals, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev explodes the Western myth of the moderate Muslim

The media treatment of black conservatives has been a hot topic in conservative circles for the past few months, and the latest high-profile figure to weigh in is Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, who said in an appearance on C-SPAN that the media tears apart any black individual who does not fit a certain mold of “what to except from a black person” in American politics. Laura Ingraham, filling in for Bill O’Reilly tonight, clashed with Reverend Jacques DeGraff over whether Thomas was right in his assessment. DeGraff argued that regardless of political affiliation, African-Americans

South Carolina Democratic Chairman Dick Harpootlian is getting some heat today for a comment he made about that state’s Republican governor at Friday night’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner, shortly before Vice President Joe Biden took the stage. Harpootlian’s comment came during his introduction of South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen. “In about 18 months from now,” he said, “hopefully he’ll have sent Nikki Haley back to wherever the hell she came from.” The comment drew cheers and laughs from the audience in attendance, but Harpootlian is now facing harsh criticism,

I had hoped this nonsense would end with the reign of Steve Capus, but once again we have NBC News forced to apologize for yet-another dishonest edit meant to push the left´s agenda. Thanks to NRO´s Andrew Johnson, we learned that on Friday MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts used selective clips from a speech by Vice President Joe Biden to make it look as though Biden was making a push for gun control. Biden´s speech had nothing to do with guns. Here is the unedited clip. How low of NBC News to use a speech commemorating four Americans

Gun control advocates are in hysterics, using frenzied, emotional attacks against Senators who opposed gun control last month in hopes of changing the momentum. This explains why Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) has been targeted in New Hampshire, and it´s why Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly have been targeting Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in Kentucky. Staunch gun control supporters saw Sandy Hook Elementary as their opportunity to secure more gun laws, but now they see that opportunity fading away. Thus, they are "conducting surveys, staging rallies, funding television ads and storming town-hall meetings."

Top Tory Nigel Evans was sensationally arrested today on suspicion of rape, the Sunday Mirror can reveal. As a Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Mr Evans holds a top job in British politics and is charge of ensuring MPs obey the rules. The 55-year-old politician - who came out as gay in 2010 - is accused of raping a man and sexually assaulting a second man between July 2009 and March this year. Detectives from Lancashire Police swooped on Mr Evans’ cottage in the Lancashire village of Pendleton this morning. Police forensic teams also searched the property.

The Head Start program, a favorite of President Barack Obama, had an interesting solution for the problems caused by sequestration: low-income children in the program were sent home ten days early. At the same time, 2,800 Head Start leaders spent a total of $752,059 attending a three-day conference in National Harbor, MD. The money used for the conference came from the program’s Training and Technical Assistance funds. Those funds were available because Congress allocates them separately from Head Start´s operating costs, and the Office of Head Start took the hit from the sequester

To reduce the growing prison population and escalating prison costs, the U.S Bureau of Prisons says it is now revising its "compassionate release" rules so more ailing and aging inmates can be freed. A report from the Justice Department´s inspector general says the revised rules will expand the compassionate release program by making inmates with a life expectancy of up to 18 months eligible for consideration (versus the current 12 months). The revised rules also will explain what level of functioning is "extraordinary and compelling" enough for inmates to be considered for release.

The Republican Party´s post-2012 introspection has focused principally on America´s growing Hispanic population and how the GOP can capture larger percentages of the Hispanic vote, but Republicans aren´t sitting back on their heels when it comes to other groups that conservatives have traditionally struggled with. African-Americans turned out at the polls at much higher rates in 2008 and 2012 than in previous elections. MEXICO CITY — President Obama on Friday painted a sunny picture of a modern Mexico emerging from its past troubles, an attempt at rebranding that serves the political aims of both governments but clashes with the realities of a country beset by violence and poverty. On his second day of a swing through Latin America, Obama emphasized optimism about Mexico´s economic future and offered a broad endorsement of President Enrique Peña Nieto´s reform agenda. Speaking to a crowd largely made up of high school and college students, Obama pushed the next generation of Mexicans to continue to demand change.

I’m here because Latin America represents an incredible opportunity for the United States, especially when it comes to my top priority as President: creating good, middle-class jobs. On Friday, we learned that our businesses created another 176,000 jobs last month. That’s 2.2 million new jobs over the past year, and 6.8 million new jobs over the past 38 months. But as I´ve said before, I won’t be satisfied until everyone who wants a job can find one.
