The Obama Levee Breaks
Investor's Business Daily, by IBD Staff

Original Article

Election 2012: President Obama might think sagging polls are his biggest post-debate problem. But it's really people like Buzz Bissinger, Stacey Dash and Bill Maher showing it's now acceptable in polite society to attack The One. In an eye-opening piece Monday on the Daily Beast, "Friday Night Lights" author and lifelong Democrat Buzz Bissinger announced he was voting for Romney. The tipping point, he wrote, "was last week's debate in Denver," which showed Obama out of energy and out of ideas.

This guy Bissinger is going to vote for Romney because Zippy had a poor debate? Really? He says he's voting for Romney because Zippy is out of ideas? Somebody ought to slap this guy on the back of the head and explain to him that the problem is not that Zippy is out of ideas. He has plenty of ideas. They are all horribly bad ideas. I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and I'll take this guys vote, but God help us if all Zippy had to do was mouth a few more tax and spend, weaken the military and "lead from behind" ideas to get this guys vote back.

Of course Stacey Dash supports Romney. Not only was she gorgeous when she was young; she's gotten even more attractive with age - and no sign of excessive botox or "trout pout". Anger and bitterness just seem to naturally flow from the Liberal mindset and it sure can write some ugly lines on your face.

Obama gets his values from the teleprompter (AKA , his handlers and his SOROS-backed Socialists).

Romney gets his values from his life experience.

Now who do you want staring at the red button at 3 AM in the morning?

Obama (and the TOTUS)

Romney?

Can The ObamaCare Enrollment
Numbers Be Believed?

When the Obama administration announced on April 1 that an estimated 7.1 million had signed up for ObamaCare by the end of March, it seemed a nearly impossible achievement. In every month before, sign-ups lagged behind the administration´s original forecast by wide margins and had fallen 1.4 million behind by the end of February. In mid-March, the AP said that it would take "close to a miracle" just to reach 6 million. And a Rand survey out this week puts enrollment by early March at less than 4 million. To reach 7.1 million, sign-ups had to rocket up by 67% in just one

Bias: The media are cheering a survey that, they say, shows ObamaCare is working miracles. It shows nothing of the kind. Meanwhile, they´re ignoring another report that finds ObamaCare-induced premium spikes. ´Millions More People Are Getting Health Insurance Because Of ObamaCare," screams a headline on the left-wing Huffington Post. Countless other major news outlets more or less echoed this line, calling it a big win for ObamaCare. They and others are all talking about a Rand Corp. survey that, in fact, finds no such thing. Rand asked people about changes in their insurance situation between last September and late March, as a way

Politics: This fall, Democrats will no doubt resurrect the "war on women" theme to try to hold the Senate. But they don´t really care about all women, just the unmarried ones. The IBD/TIPP poll shows why. According to the Washington Post, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is building a huge computer database that will let it predict women´s marital status. That way they can "pinpoint unmarried women as the target of specific, poll-test messages," according to one source quoted in the story. Despite all the talk among Democrats and the media about the "gender gap" that has supposedly resulted from what they say

Health Care: Republicans pushed a bill that would let small businesses continue to offer high-deductible plans to employees, despite ObamaCare. Sounds like a good idea. So why did the leadership try to hide it? The original plan for ObamaCare was to force every business with 50 or more employees to provide "affordable" coverage or pay a stiff fine, plus to sharply restrict the plans they could offer by, among other things, capping deductibles at $2,000 for workers. The cap was little more than a stealth attempt by Democrats to wreck Health Savings Accounts, which trade off high deductibles for tax-free savings accounts

President Obama might be thrilled that 7.1 million people apparently signed up for ObamaCare exchanges. But doctors have good reason to withhold their applause. Back in June 2009, Obama told a gathering of the American Medical Association that he was "looking at a range of ideas" that would stem the tide of costly medical malpractice lawsuits and "scale back the excessive defensive medicine." A few months later, he told Congress that "I´ve talked to enough doctors to know that defensive medicine may be contributing to unnecessary costs" and that he would borrow a page from President Bush and fund demonstration projects for

Bias: How much abuse will the mainstream media take before they stand up for themselves? When the abuse comes from the Obama administration, their tolerance appears to be unlimited. This week, for example, two things happened that should have sent reporters into a frenzy of outrage. First, there were reports that the Obama administration has effectively crippled the Freedom of Information Act, despite Obama´s promise of unequaled transparency. Nearly half the federal agencies got an F grade for FOIA compliance, according to a Center for Effective Government report. Why Is the ObamaCare Mandate So Toothless?

Health Care: Some think Democrats designed ObamaCare to fail so they could get to a single payer system. Seems a bit extreme. But it does help explain why they made the individual mandate so easy to avoid. According to ObamaCare´s architects, the individual mandate is key to making the law work. The mandate is supposed to force young and healthy people to enroll so they can subsidize premiums for the older and sicker. Otherwise, ObamaCare rates will spiral out of control. (Which already appears to be happening, according to TheHill.com.) The mandate is also supposed to prevent gaming the system — wherein people

Judging Obama´s Economy

President Obama gave a speech recently in which he, as he almost always does, patted himself on the back for what he described as a solid record on the economy. "We´ve now seen over four years of economic growth," he said. "We´ve seen 8.5 million new jobs created. We´ve seen the housing market bounce back. We´ve seen an auto industry that has come roaring back. We´ve seen manufacturing return for the first time since the 1990s." Obamaphiles in the press typically repeat these claims, arguing that, given the mess he inherited, no one could have done any better. But is that true? And

But in so doing, they´ve set in motion another ObamaCare rate shock. Soon after enrolling in ObamaCare, many people discovered the high cost of believing Obama´s promises. Not only were millions required to change plans, but many learned that their "new-and-improved" ObamaCare plans forced them to give up their doctors and hospitals, too. Health Care: ObamaCare is turning out like the nine-headed Hydra monster of Greek mythology. Every time President Obama tries to lop off one of its failures, two more emerge. Recent news provides a good case in point. On Wednesday, Obama decreed that those who had plans they liked before ObamaCare could keep them for two more years. The move helped solve a huge political problem Obama himself created when he first made it possible for some people to keep plans they liked. Economy: When not making excuses for President Obama´s dismal economic record, liberals try to explain away Texas´ stellar growth. But what choice do they have? The Lone Star State proves limited government works. After Gov. Rick Perry entered the presidential primaries in 2011, the left made a determined effort to dismiss the fact that his state had outperformed the rest of the country. Economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman called it the "Texas Unmiracle." Time magazine dismissed Texas´ burgeoning growth as mere luck. To say that President Obama is not an enthusiastic backer of the two Medicare programs that offer seniors private insurance options would be something of an understatement. Over the years, Obama has repeatedly derided Medicare Advantage — the program that lets seniors enroll in subsidized, private insurance. He once called it "wasteful," and said it amounted to "giveaways that boost insurance company profits but don´t make (seniors) any healthier." Obama has been equally harsh when it comes to Medicare Part D — the drug benefit President Bush signed into law that relies on privately run plans. In his 2006 book,

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public
