| Following his boffo debate on domestic affairs, Mitt Romney turned to foreign policy Monday in a major speech at the Virginia Military Institute. "America's security and the cause of freedom," he said, "cannot afford four more years like the last four years." The speech is an important moment as a window on Mr. Romney's principles and instincts as Commander in Chief. Within half an hour of delivery, President Obama's surrogates were portraying the Republican as erratic, uninformed and dangerous—supposedly George W. Bush with better diction.

Brilliance is prized so highly by the LIbs, think of all those years they excoriated Bush for being stupid. THey will forgive Obama anything, but not a lesser intelligence. Oh! The shame of it all! Think how it reflects on their intellect.
I saw a very encouraging sign when Romney's intellect, though never mentioned, was never in issue. How could it be when the man graduated with both a law degree and business degree from Harvard simultaneously.

Foreign policy is becoming a sinkhole for Obama. 'Leading from behind' has left a vacuum that the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda is filling.
Anything that spotlights Obama's weeks and weeks of lying about Benghazi exposes Obama's dithering and deadly lack of interest.

J. David Kuo, an evangelical Christian conservative and former top official of President George W. Bush’s faith-based initiative who drew wide attention when he publicly accused the administration of failing to live up to the values it espoused, died April 5 in Charlotte. He was 44.He was diagnosed a decade ago with brain cancer, his wife, Kimberly, said. The arc of Mr. Kuo’s life and career had taken him from liberal to conservative, from hard-edged Republican activism in the 1990s to disillusionment with the idea that politics could serve as an extension of his faith.

Like most of you, I yearn for shorter winters, more shirt-sleeve weather, less lashing from frigid winds. As a confirmed New Yorker, I’m not willing to do what millions have done: move to the sunbelt. I want warmer weather here in the Big City.But I’ve grown old waiting for the promised global warming. I was 35 when predictions of a looming ice age were supplanted by warmmongering. Now I’m 68, and there’s still no sign of warmer weather. It’s enough to make one doubt the “settled science” of the government-funded doom-sayers.

In a measure of solidarity with those affected by the budget-slashing government sequestration, President Obama is giving up 5 percent of his salary for rest of the year, which is almost as admirable and sensible as a mansion-owner shutting off his marble fountains during a drought.This is not to imply that the president shouldn´t demonstrate some unity with those who´ve been furloughed or lost work because of the blind slashing the sequestration prompted. People like Jeff Maryak, profiled by BuzzFeed, who is considering re-enlisting to make ends meet after a 27 percent pay cut.

MTV’s “Buckwild” has its first cast death. Shain Gandee was among three men found dead in a vehicle Monday in the Sissonville area of West Virginia — about 31 hours after he and his uncle, David, had been reported missing. David, 48, and Shain, 21, told people they were going four-wheeling in Shain’s 1984 Ford Bronco, at about 3 a.m. Sunday at Larry’s Bar in Sissonville, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday morning. The third man found dead in the vehicle who has not yet been identified, according to press reports.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school.
